Stopped in for a late afternoon bite to eat and check this new place out. With the name Rock bar I expected some sort of Rock and Roll theme. No Rock-n-Roll, just rap crap and Top40 pop music. They have a mechanical bull and the customers that were hanging out around it were incredibly loud. So Loud that I had to shout at the server to order my food. I also noticed that both P.O.S. systems were behind the bar. I bet that is a real pain when its packed in there!! Asked the server for the special, which was pulled pork, and the she wasnt even aware that there was a special at all. Ordered my food and a few minutes later the she came back and said that they were out of mashed potatoes. As well as baked potatoes. So I had fries instead.. What kind of place is out of mashed potatoes at 4:00pm on a Saturday???!!! Not impressed with this place at all. Looks like a desperate attempt to be something fun and totally missed the mark.....No point in returning here.

When you have a restaurant open for lunch in downtown Cedar Rapids, you probably should expect that you would have a lunch rush and plan accordingly. It took more than 45 minutes to get our food and more than 10 minutes to pay. That is the entire lunch hour waiting for food that was not even fresh. Lunch specials were luke warm at best, chicken on the salads was cold and totally not fresh. On the other hand, the fries were hot. This is the third time we have had to wait more than 30 minutes for our lunch (for 5, not 15). So we will give Rock Bar a thumbs down for lunch.

Stopped in for a late dinner around 10pm and sat at the nice bar. Bartender was the owner and was super friendly and very accommodating being that their kitchen was in the process of closing down for the evening. Ordered their Mac and Cheese and added their friend chicken to it and it was fantastic along with yummy side of the asparagus. Husband ordered a BBQ pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw and it was amazing! Great place to dine for a Wednesday evening! Plus, the interior is very fun with mechanical bull, giant wall mounted iPod jukebox and many beautiful HD TVs!

AMAZING FOOD! I have only went there during the weekday 5 or 6 times and have "LOVED" everything. I am totally hooked on the Buffalo Chicken Salad. Pretty relaxing and quite during the day and they always seem to have a good amount of guests in their restaurant. Great place for me to meet friends for lunch and go for lunch meetings, Have gotten nothing but great service and good food at each visit!! THANK YOU ROCK BAR!!

Not a fan. Food was okay but the beer was way over priced. Our waitress had no idea what they had for beer even though the menu tells you to ask them about them. The bull area gets way to loud and annoying. If you want to waste a lot of cash and like it loud this place is for you. If the food was really good I would go back but it wasnt anything special. Very disappointed and will not go back.

Food was delicious. The mixed drinks are amazing and very reasonably priced! Fast and friendly service. Becoming one of our go to places when we stay at a nearby hotel in downtown Cedar Rapids. They also have a Mechanical Bull, we have not tried that..... yet.

The food is meh, and usually has a bit of a wait. Staff is alright, nothing special. During night hours its horrible. Over packed, slow service and nasty bathrooms. Staff also will kill the jukebox of they are not liking a song without warning.

Delicious food, very reasonably priced. Great atmosphere. Friendly waitress and staff. Food and drink arrived quickly. Plenty of seating and TVs for games. Didnt ride the bull, but looked fun ;) Will definitely come back to this place again!

Not a fan. This has happened twice. Ordered a cheese burger. Tomato and lettuce are wilted under the meat patty. No mustard on the tables and asking results in a 15min wait while the food gets cold.

We had lunch here and it was a good experience. The menu variety was better than I expected. We had a fairly large group and the server worked hard to be attentive and quick. Good experience.

Great prices for drinks! I usually get whiskey-Cokes here that are 3 dollars on certain nights (I think some Saturdays?). Besides that, theres always the mechanical bull.... nuff said.
