Noticed this place a few times while exploring the area along the river. I thought it was a great, quiet location with a nice view of the river, so I was very hopeful. I cant even say the service was bad, because it was non-existent. After we walked in and sat down for nearly 10 minutes, one of our party had to walk up to the bar and ask if the kitchen was open because nobody had even acknowledged us sitting there. They gave him a few menus to bring back to the table. After sitting for another 5 minutes, he went back up to ask if we were going to get a waitress, to which they said we would. After waiting another 10 minutes without even a glace from one of the waitresses or bartenders, we decided it was time to leave. We wasted over 25 minutes and didnt even get acknowledged by any of the staff here. This place had good reviews online, so I was extremely surprised at how terribly we were treated. If you are not a regular and are trying for the first time, I would strongly consider the risk of driving out here only to have to leave hungry and/or thirsty. I wouldnt waste your time - find a different place!

The new Shack tavern is definitely the new Shack tavern. it has really changed for the better through the years they have outdoor seating, a live entertainment area. and the service has really improved.
