Really like this place and as of now, its the place to be in the area! Weve been a half dozen times now for everything from a quick drink to dinner with friends and each time they get it right! The open concept with lots of different seating options really sets a nice mood. High ceilings, big windows and lodgey/rustic/farmy feel set the stage and with 60+ beers on tap, even the most pretentious of beer drinkiers will find something they like! The food here will not blow you away, but there are some gems. Our go to on the small plates menu has become the Brussels - totally the food that places are playing with right now and they get it right here. Excellent flavor with just enough meat! The firecracker wings are excellent as well. A lot of places are working on Asian inspired wings and these are a good rendition. The truffle fries were excellent as well. One item were bummed about was the Sisig - it reminded us of a take on pork fried rice - it wasnt flavorful and had way to much heat that didnt do anything but burn. Heat for flavor or flavor with heat is solid, but this dish left something to be desired everywhere. Weve tried most of the burgers here and theyre always good, not great. The lamb is solid as is the Bulgogi beer sandwich. Weve also had the crispy skin salmon - it too was good, not great - were from the NW though so its hard to impress us with Salmon. For dessert, weve had the Strawberry Rhubard Crumble and a couple types of ice cream. Everything is as expected and they havent played with this menu much so its good for what its there for. Overall, 30 hop is great place to go with a group for some legit beers and a great atmosphere. The appetizer/small plates menus hold some great dishes and the burgers and main dishes are good, but wont be the best youve ever had. 30 hop is a great addition to the area and somewhere well be going on a pretty regular basis.

I have heard a lot about 30hop and had been before and had a good experience. Went with my husband today and had a much worse experience. When we arrived there was a group ahead of us to be seated. I dont know how long they had been there but it took another few minutes after we got there for them to be seated. Then another 5 minutes to get seated ourselves. I will point out that while over the noon hour there were many seats available. Once we were seated my husband looked over the vast beer menu and we decided what to order. During the 15 minutes that we talked and decided, we did not so much as have a server near us. No drinks. No apologizes for the lack of service. All this while watching 2 tables get seated and served around us. So we decided to leave. The icing on the cake was when the man that seated us said "Thanks for coming in" with absolutely no knowledge that he had seated us literally 15 minutes prior.

Food is good. The staff has apparently been chosen on looks rather than customer service skills. Lots of tall, good-looking people ignoring me feels a lot like high school. Tonight was my third and final visit. The service on my last two visits was poor, but this one was by far the worst service experience Ive had in years. My beverage was empty shortly after my food arrived. No check-in to see if I wanted another. No check-in to see how the food was, not even when I paid the bill. Nobody noticed I was wiping my hands on my jeans since I was not given a napkin. The entire time I ate, the bartender chatted up the girl sitting next to me who, as I found out, was a recent hire. I looked at his face while he talked, trying to get his attention, and he ignored me.

What an outstanding place to eat and relax after a long day of work!! From the welcoming and super kind staff to the fantastic range of beer, and other great alcoholic beverages - to the mouth watering food. Always end the night by stopping up top to check out the rooftop view! I have loved this place from the very beginning and have seen some exceptional menu changes for holidays and even savory seasonal food changes. These guys know how to make customers like me very happy! Hands down, the #1 place I will recommend to all of my friends and family to visit when they come to Iowa City! Keep it up 30hop, you have something great!!!

While the atmosphere and look of the food was amazing, all other aspects lacked after. The upscale modern style food had good intentions, but lacked the flavor to compare. It was almost as if there was an amazing chef coming up with the menu, but someone else poorly preparing the final product. It did not help that the bill was large for what we got either, especially since the service was subpar. In an area filled with amazing restaurants, this one looks the part, but does not keep up with the standard.

This place has horrendously rude hostesses that did nothing but lie to us to get us to leave them alone. They told us to call back, told us an hour when we called back, then 30 minutes, then AN HOUR AND A HALF! The girls then obviously lied and blamed it on their current customers saying they had been here for for 5 hours. They were rude and inconsistent in what they told us. This place is not worth the hassel. Especially with great restaurants all around it.

One of the best things IC/Coralville has to offer! Delicious food, great drinks, and fantastic service. For drinks, a great list of top shelf liquor and a beer list that should satisfy anyones tastes. For food, everything I have had has been amazing, and I recommend the following: Yakisoba; Veggie Mac & Cheese; Short Rib entree; Pork Tenderloin sandwich; Chorizo Street Corn. Serving sizes are well worth the price.

Cant beat this place. Has a little bit of EVERYTHING for everyone! Downstairs is big & open with plenty of space to meet up with friends or sit down for dinner. Upstairs is the best part of this place. Great atmosphere with indoor/outdoor seating with bar & several televisions. Great place for gatherings, parties & other fun events. Very cool view from top area with large fire pits to stay warm at night!

Came in with a group of 5 drunk & weary folks. The place was already packed at 4 in the afternoon, but service was superb. Every appetizer & entree we ordered were top-friggin-notch. We loved everything we ordered: deviled eggs, chorizo cheese dip, Bleu burger, prime rib sandwich, chorizo mac & cheese. Seriously good stuff! And the prices are entirely reasonable for the experience we had. Good on ya, 30hop!

Beer beer beer. They have tons. For the beer snobs this is the place. Drank Abt 12 draft, served correctly in a snifter, it was fabulous. Food was so so. Lime humus blows. Prime rib sandwich was pretty good but was off on the bread to meat ratio. Sweet potato fries were spot on. Other than that, no complaints. Patio looked great but was full when we got there.

One of my favorite spots in the area! Love enjoying the rooftop bar and fire pits when the weather allows! Huge selection of beers including many local Iowa craft beer options. They also have some really delicious cocktails! Their food is pretty good too, but a bit pricey for what you get. Overall, I really love this place. It is always a fun time!
