Woman behind the bar was not friendly at all!! Acted like she didnt care whether or not I even got my beer. No tall boy cans. Stage looks like its made of shipping pallets. Come on....if your gonna have a stage for bands to perform on, at least make it better than that!!!! Surf and Turf is the best value in Cedar Rapids. $9.98 for steak and shrimp, choice of potato, vegetable and a roll!!! Wow I was stuffed!!

Always good. Its a little neighborhood bar with a blue collar clientele and the decor is a little dated, but who cares? The beer is cold, the food is better than anything youll find at a chain restaurant, and Ive never had a bad experience or felt uncomfortable despite being an out-of-towner who stops alone once every the our for months.

Clean, Comfortable, Wel-Lit - Fast Friendly Staff, Good Food, Nice Potions GREAT VALUE! Its a neighborhood bar, where you dont have to be from the neighborhood to feel real welcome. Kitchen was small, clean, organized and efficient. Real Good Inspections from the County Health Dept. online. TOP NOTCH ALL THE WAY!

Have never had a bad experience here. Even if its busy or a crowded night PJ and Pam the owners hane made sure i am satisfied!!! I always feel like i am family when I am here. My Husband and i actually met here for the first time ever!!! Checkers is a family staple with us!

Decent food, good beer. This is a local bar. You can get hamburgers, pizza, nachos, although someone is talking about a salad right now. Pool table, big bar, TVs everywhere. Its close to the Hampton, so I grab food here when Im in town.

Last night was the first time I had ever been to Checkers........PJ was a great host, the bar staff was great, the food was the best Ive ever had hands down. Ill be sure to go back there again..........

Awesome food, great staff! My husband and I have been coming here for 14+ years. Pam and PJ are wonderful people! Breakfast on the weekends is wonderful. Please come visit. You we not be disappointed.

Great neighborhood bar. Nothing fancy, just the best in town! 1/4 order of nachos feeds 2 or 3 people ... so you might not need a whole one to yourself. Live music sometimes.
