This place draws you in with a catchy gimmick and leaves you scratching your head when you leave. I really dont know why this place gets high recommendations because the food isnt good. There are a few highlights... the shakes are good. Ive had the Cherry Kool-aid shake and the Rainbow (has fruity pebbles in it). Both were good, but $5-8 for a shake is ridiculous. The burgers are not good. The patties are too greasy and are really bland. They try to salvage (or cover up) the terrible burger with weird concepts or loads of toppings. What you wind up with is a gloppy, messy sandwich that you cant eat. They make burgers that have Mac and cheese on them or grilled cheese sandwiches for the buns, give them clever, catchy names and charge you $9+ for a sandwich that doesnt add up. Overpriced, overhyped gimmick that leaves you wondering why you went there to begin with. Dont buy into the hype.

Got the Zombie Salad there last night that has the raspberry balsamic dressing- it came on the side in a little to go container. It looked like straight up pudding (yes, pudding)so I stirred it up with my knife- which got the balsamic vinaigrette mixed in that was at the bottom of the container.. put it on my salad and it was the most sour/bitter dressing I have ever tasted in my life. Super bummed I tried eating a couple bites thinking it just had a different taste to it- but couldnt do it- definitely got me sick :( Will be sticking to burgers and fries if I ever go there again.

Good food but very pricey. We thought there would be more of a zombie-fied ambiance with the restaurant instead of eating at the one at the mall, but it was just a few posters. Not nearly enough seating! It was raining outside and all the tables were taken. We had to wait for someone to leave and try to get to their table before someone else did (you seat yourself).

I walked in and was stared at right as I walked in with one of my friends. When we were looking over the board one of the cashiers said that she could take care of us I politely said that we werent quite ready as it being our first time in. She rudely said ok closed out of the computer turned to other employees who rolled their eyes and continued with laughing.

Good food, friendly staff, quick service, and a super fun atmosphere. The theme has been integrated into everything from the menu itself to decor to the signsame on the bathroom door. Too pricey and nutritionally indulgent for a regular occurrence, but well definitely be stopping in again the next time were in Ankeny!

This is a very fun dining experience. Considering it is primarily burgers, the variety of toppings on each burger makes each trip feel unique. The burgers are truly creative, and the desserts are also irresistibly tempting. All of this is complimented by the friendly staff, fast service, and delicious food.

Great amazing burgers food and fries are amazing service is fast very friendly rarely is it noisy because everyone is busy eating there burger there to busy to talk and they do serve alcohol so I wouldnt say its family friendly unless your family is older but definitely not for the younger ones

Not quite as good as the original Zombie Burger in Des Moines but great nonetheless! The trailer trash burger is one of my all-time guilty pleasure foods and the fries here are some of the best Ive ever had. This place can be packed during prime hours so be cognizant of that.

This is a great little extension of the original Zombie Burger. The food is just as good, although the space is significantly smaller. If you are going during the busier times (lunch, dinner) then I recommend getting the food to go. It is very hard to find a place to sit.

Fried pickles were great. The burger was decent. One very unprofessional item was one of the gentlemen working the take out counter was telling his coworker that he hadnt showered in 3 days. Our waitress named Arin B did a good job making sure we were taken care of.

Usually service isnt too bad and food is pretty consistently the same. Picked up food to go today and it looked like something from mcdonalds when I opened the box. I think its fair to expect a little better from an 8 dollar burger from a local business.

Love the concept. Should have tried a different location. Girl at the counter kinda acted like a zombie without meaning to. No friendly hello there. Food is good and greasy. Definitely do some kind of photo as we will probably never be in this area again

Craft style Walk-in and order place. They have nice seating inside and even some outside seating. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. The burgers are original and taste combinations are great. If they had more veggue options that would be awesome.

Zombie burger isnt what it used to be! Im sitting here at the resturuant, listening to a manger and an employee argue. The staff here were extremely rude, and not pleasant. Also, the food quality isnt what it used to be. Doubt Ill be back.

Overpriced, even with coupons. Extremely greasy and delicious with an interresting variety. Im not sorry I went, but I wont go back. I can buy heartburn for less. On a side note, that mac n cheese my kid ordered was yuck.

Great place! We normally hit the one in Des Moines but happened to be in this area and in a bit of a rush. It doesnt have the same atmosphere but it still has same great taste and it is perfect if you need to grab it and go.

if you are looking for some weird things on a burger then this is the place, But if you going in for just a bacon cheeseburger, save you and go somewhere else. The burger was taste less. the shake was good but over priced.

At first the price seemed a little high but when got my food fast as well as how it tasted. It was absolutely worth it. I will definitely be coming here very often. I would rate it higher if I could. Again amazing!

If you been to the main location in the East village then you know what to expect. Not sure if this is true but the menu seems smaller at this location. Overall still good food, just not the full experience.

Expensive food, but go for the experience of fun names and combinations. I had a burger with fried bananas, peanut butter, and egg -- wasnt the quality I was looking for, plus my meal didnt come with fries.

Completely messed up our order.. Could hardly hear anything because loud environment.. Small area felt crammed in.. Dont know what the big hype is about but not waiting a half hour to get a burger...

Awesome quality, taste, and variety. Not your boring burger joint! Unique, tasty combinations. Thought it was merely gimmicky until I tried it. Truly excellent. I recommend the trailer trash burger.

Fast service. Great customer service. A little bit small inside but thats bound to happen when you have over 20 people shoved into and amazing restaurant. Decor is awesome! Food is always fresh.
