I wasnt going to bother posting a review, but I feel that theyve earned it (my review ) several times over. I have been to this location on many occasions, and honestly there probably isnt enough character space to tell you how disappointing this Pancheros is. If I could give it negative star reviews I would. For starters, they are incredibly slow. They hire people who shouldnt be in food service as they are so incompetent that they would probably take a vile dump, not wash their hands after wiping, and then make your burrito. Sadly, that isnt an exaggeration. There is always some stray particle of food in sauces that dont belong. Once I asked for tofu on my burrito, and I kid you not, it was dried out and hard as a rock! Yet the employee still scrapped it up and put it on my burrito. It was like having several day old dried out lumps of dog food on my food. I was so disgusted, but did not complain at the time. I just threw it in the trash. Honestly, I wish I would have. I wish a food inspector would pay this place a visit, or the owner or manager would start caring and do something about how heinous this place is. This last time was the last straw though. Thought maybe the dog food tofu was a one time incident because nobody orders tofu so I went with the carnitas this time. And i havent eaten here in several months.. so I thought Id give them one last chance to get it right, but sadly no. The employee scrappes the last remnants of food out of every container and put it on my burrito bowl. I asked her for salsa, and there wasnt enough in the container, so she just kept scrapping to get enough, instead of going to the back to get more. Then she picked a rotten piece of lettuce out of the sour cream and plopped it on my burrito. Also, somehow even though there was enough food in the containers for my husbands burrito, he said it was very cold when he got it. Thats not fresh! Probably not even safe. In conclusion, I am done eating here. Never again. Also, I hope a food inspector pays this place a visit before someone gets sick. And it seems other reviewers on here have horror stories too.

Having eaten at the Ames and Urbandale Pancheros, and now Altoona, I can say that the Altoona Pancheros is the worst of them all. Ive given them chance after chance and they continue to produce poor quality food as well as terrible customer service. A simple request like asking them to make sure all the toppings are spread out evenly on a chicken quesadilla is beyond them, and the woman even gave me the stink eye for asking. This was after the last time I asked them to do this and they failed. Honestly if you dont want people telling you how to do your job, then do it right the first time. Chicken is usually black and burnt. Overall just very poor quality location and Pancheros would do good to have a "clean slate" at this location, so to speak.

I used to love this location but now food comes out inconsistent (I order two identical items and they were not remotely the same) their "free WiFi" cancelled my points because it wont connect after the cashier messed up and didnt do it by scanning my app at the register. Their points system to earn free burritos has changed 3 times (punch card, loyalty card and now app) which is fine except I have been on my free burrito on my next visit each time and lost it because it is not honored and employees seem annoyed when I ask how I can redeem/who to talk to to earn it.

I honestly wish that more people would review this place, so that the owners would do something about how terrible it is. But most people dont review fast food places. This place has the worst people employed. They are SLOW and they dont know how to wrap burritos. Every single time I eat here, which is a lot, its terrible. I hardly even get anything on mine and it still falls apart the second I open it. I go out of my way usually to go to urbandale or Johnston to get one there if its what I really want.

Without going into full details. I would like to do a big shout out to Sue the Manager at this location!!! She blew me away and left me speechless today! I can honestly say I have never endured customer service like what I received today. Food was great, employees were friendly and Sue is a great advocate and all around great person. She turned what was a frown upside down! This is testimony that someone can literally turn your day better yet your week around. Thank you Sue!

Clean, the employees were friendly. Reason for only 4 stars, was the music they had playing was extremely loud. My husband and I both noticed that hardly anyone was staying in to eat. Everyone decided to take out. While we sat and ate, the few people that stayed and ate, hurried up and ate and left. We couldnt hear what we saying to one another, and we sat across from each other. We probably wont go back due to the extremely loud music.

The food was cold. It was obvious that the majority of the staff did not want to be there as they slopped and threw my selection together and rubbed their abdomen against the food. This was my first visit to a Pancheros restaurant, I only took one bite of my food, threw it away, left, and will not set foot into another one.

I wish the employees were as excited about the burritos as I am. This is one of the weakest Pancheros in the chain. I love the brand, but have been consistently disappointed by this location. Staff is unmotivated and disconnected. They ask you questions out of routine and dont listen to the answers.

This is the worst pancheros Ive been to. If there is a girl about 51 with long blonde hair pressing the tortilla, leave! Other than the tortilla, which is the best part, being ruined there was water dripping from the ceiling right above the food. I wont be returning to this location.

Fresh, made to order tortillas were chewy and delicious. The options available were good and portions were very generous. The people working went above expectations given the type of place and location in a strip mall in the middle of a retail complex. Good, quick, and very filling.

In terms of the food, this pancheros beats the Ingersoll pancheros 9 times out of 10. However, if you choose to eat here, you run the risk of having to make small talk with your dads boss who lives in Glen Oaks. Ill never roll those dice.

Had to walk out once due to the moisture from their ac unit dripping from the ceiling directly into their queso... All the employee did was put the lid on it so it wouldnt happen again and kept serving it

Coldest taco Ive ever had. Screwed up the meal so much I would barely touch it. Cant say Id ever go back to this one. Its a shame because the others Ive been to were way better. This one is a joke

Not sure what spices were in the steak but it was so flipping hot that I couldnt eat it. Manager said the red peppers must be a hot batch, sorry about that. Really?! And I love spicy food.
