Pizza is pizza, right? WRONG! Everyone can do pizza but few places actually take it a step further to stand out from the general masses. One day while visiting the quant shops of Nashville before heading back to Indy I was checking out reviews on Yelp to find a good place to eat. Whats fun is I typically only read the negative reviews when a place is rated 4 stars or better just to get a full idea. Well I wasnt convinced this was the place to eat, BUT the reviews seemed good and I can always go for pizza. When we arrived we were seated quickly and due to the humidity we asked to sit inside. Its a very rustic feel in there with tables and chairs that appear to have been carved out back from a tree. Its neat...and different so though it isnt my style I liked it. THEN the only complaint that I have is how long we waited for someone to come to our table. They were not busy, a total of maybe 4 tables were being used and I saw more than enough staff walking around. But they all ignored us. Just as I was about to say lets go somewhere else someone finally came by and asked if we had been helped. When we responded with a huge no she left and got someone to take care of us. By this point we pretty much knew what we wanted to eat as we had so much time to look over the menu. I went with the BBQ pizza and I am pretty sure my other half had some loaded meat pizza of some sort. Anyway, after we ordered that I then wanted to add the cheese bread appetizer to the mix. I flagged down our server and asked if I could add that. She said yes, but that it would probably end up coming out all at once. I said that was fine. A short while later our food arrived. The cheese bread was to die for. It was just loaded with 5 different types of cheeses. I could totally eat a whole one all by myself if someone would let me. As for my BBQ pizza, that too was to die for. It was so full of flavor I was very surprised. These people understood what it took to make an excellent pizza. I was so happy that I wanted to cry when I was so full but didnt want to stop eating. All of the toppings worked with each other to create an orgy of flavor in my mouth. It was for sure pizza heaven. Once we had a server she did a great job, apologized for the longer than usual wait and really took care of us. She was upbeat and had a personality which was nice. She made up for the long wait we had at the very beginning. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone visiting Nashville, IN. The service is a little shaky but the food is worth it.

First...I would have given 5 stars, but this visit was vary frustrating. We were here once before and had no isues, even though they were nightmare busy. This time we strolled up and asked for a table for two. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait, which was confusing because we could see empty tables inside. After our half hour wait, in the cold because nobody told us we could wait inside, they proceeded to seat the party of four that were in line behind us. After confronting the greeter about it, they promply sat us at a table that was empty the whole time we were waiting. Now, dont get me wrong, this is probably the best pizza we have ever had. I cant comment on the beer, Im not a beer person, but pizza I know. We drive three hours from our home to eat here, and as long as the quality does not slip we will continue to go out of our way.

When I first tried the smaller, original location, I wasnt impressed. The beer seemed like overpriced homebrew failures, and aside from the pulled pork nachos (delicious) the food was nothing to write home about. But the new pizza restaurant has really turned things around for me. I dont know if theyve invested in better brewing equipment, but the beer seems 100% better. The pizza and calzones are really good and the nachos remain stellar. So this place went from disappointing to one of my favorites in the area. The staff is also very friendly and I love the woody atmosphere of the new dining room.

Nice selection of pizzas. I got a Magherita pizza, it was delicious. Other people at the table got a pulled pork sandwich and a nachos with pulled pork. I tried both and they were very good as well. They make their own beers and spirits. I think there were 4 that they make.. they were good if you like hoppy beer. 1 of the beers was not very hoppy, it tasted like a bud light if bud light tasted good! Their spirits were good. They had a whiskey that had a nice flavor. The gin was nice it had a hint of coriander flavor to go with the juniper berries flavor.

My husband and I both agreed that hands-down this is the BEST pizza either of us had ever eaten in our entire lives!!! We ordered the Emilys Garden pizza, and a pint of their brewed root beer. Both were out of this world. The pizza was reasonably priced, but the root beer was a lil pricey. We also loved the rustic decor. The service was average. Nothing extraordinary, but not bad or slow either. This was our first time in Nashville, IN. We will definitely be coming back to Big Woods Pizza whenever we visit the area again.

We ordered two mojitos. One clearly had alcohol and the other did not. I complained and although server was friendly and understanding, management was extremely unprofessional. They first refused to bring another and after canceling our large pizza order, manager brought a mojito that was soda water and mint. Very dissatisfied with our experience; but two stars because the atmosphere is cool. Currently down the street at The Ordinary and the local wine is great!

They live up to their word. If your not happy with your order then you shouldnt be there in the first place. But I have to say, I have only had their Pizza and Beer. I go to Nashville once a year and they have not failed me yet. Great work guys! My hat is off to you. Keep up the good work! P.S. I love the "Big Woods" Artisan Pizza and their signature beer "Busted Knuckle" for dessert you should try the "Busted Pumpkin" Beer. Its not sweet, but its tasty!

Great Pizza. Different kind of pizza than regular. Great options to choose from menu as well. Nice place and staff was very friendly as well. Cozy place. Ambience was okie. Place is right on the street surrounded by other restaurants so keep your eye on side when you look for this place. Find a parking can be challenging if you are visiting for first time but there are options for paid as well as free parking if you drive to next street from the place.

Great locally brewed beer and good pizza. I prefer the calzone with custom toppings. Always a long wait time on Friday and Saturday nights, so much so that this past visit we opted for pick-up instead of waiting for a table. 4 stars because they changed the original recipe for their breadsticks from when they first opened and they used to be to die for, now they are just average. Still visit once a year, regardless.
