Almost comically good service. The food was fantastic, and everyone I went with was extremely happy. Stunning view too, and the restaurant, through its reservation policy, kept the restaurant quite and more personal, if I can say that. It was a wonderful dining experience. My only stipulation would be that there are some other absolutely wonderful restaurants in the area that are a little, or a lot, less expensive, so you could argue whether you think Blu is a good value. I usually dont think its a fair comparison to draw, considering we are talking about different businesses, but these restaurants dont exist in a vacuum, and considering dinner cost over $400, even if it was one of the best meals Ive ever had, I think its fair to mention. Again, the food here was near perfect, the service was probably the best Ive seen in a restaurant, and if you order the duck confiet (forgive my spelling if its wrong) you get a cute little receipt showing how many of the chefs special hes made up to your order. Its little touches like that that make Blu so enjoyable, and frankly special. But I cant say say a cute receipt is worth the price difference. Ultimately, look into it. Budget allowing, this is a must.

My husband and I were very impressed with Blu. The atmosphere is lovely, service attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the tuna tartare, salad with strawberries and blue cheese, and an exquisite halibut for my main course. I think the halibut was the best Ive ever had--very delicate and fresh. My husband had pork belly, same salad I had, and rack of lamb (very generous portion). We were both very pleased. Dessert was terrific too. And the wine--very nicely presented in individual carafes--was perfect. Just an outstanding experience all around. Cant wait to go back for our next "special occasion."

I rarely write bad reviews but I feel compelled to write one for blu...we were in the glen arbor area n wanted to stop by for dessert...I n my folks got inside and the hostess refused to cater us saying there is no space in the restaurant when there were clearly empty tables inside and there was still 45 mins for the restaurant to close. Most restaurants would offer options for a wait (if the tables are occupied) or apologize for not being able to serve. The hostess didnt do either and displayed a really discriminatory behavior...disappointed....

I went for the prefix dinner which was $33 included a soup or a salad an entree which was the Whitefish and a small dessert. They have a very nice selection of wines. Theyre open White wine selection was very good with two very good french wines. Wish they would have had a sauvignon blanc from New Zealand as well. None-the-less this guy knows how to cook. The only drawback as a European you can never serve an undercooked bean since we call it blue acid which is not good for humans.

This is the best restaurant in Leelanau and Grand Traverse counties. Crab puffs and the lemon blueberry martini are a wonderful way to start your meal. The risotto is my personal favorite, though my husband loves their meat selections, especially the veal chop. Their soups, salads and desserts never disappoint. Randy, Martha and the staff are always amazing!

I will never return to this restaurant again. They didnt have our table reserved when we had made the reservation well in advance. When we arrived, instead of apologizing, the hostess, Toni, was rude and told us that she couldnt help us. They ruined an evening we had hoped to spend celebrating my in-laws 40th anniversary.

Excellent friendly service and wonderful food. Great views and comfortable atmosphere. We loved the whitefish and the bruleé was the best i had ever had, until today. They have serious competition with the bruleé at the Boathouse in Traverse City. Now, that one is the best Ive ever had! Lol

Blue is on of those places you want to go to more often than time allows. Food and service not to forget the wine list are elcellent. Rand and mari a experts in what it take to make this a model in the industry. Worth the cost because you wont rember when you review the experience.

Disappointing. Usually these types of restaurants have very small servings and good food. The servings here are very small and poor food. My girlfriend had the pork chops and I had the beef shoulder. Neither was good. Better off getting burgers at arts.

Reasonably good food and if youre looking for a "fancy" dinner, this is probably the place to go. Personally, I prefer some of the more casual restaurants in Glen Arbor or Leelanau for better value, but equally good food and atmosphere.

Amazing view and exceptional service. The food wasnt overly seasoned and instead highlighted the quality of their local ingredients. Great wine selection and quality single malts. I highly recommend a sunset dinner here!

Chef Randy is a culinary Einstein. The halibut was a phenomenon. Mushroom/squash soup made feel unworthy. Sweet corn sorbet dessert??!! Whod a thunk it? But a fantastic surprise.
