Great atmosphere. My wife and I came here for our annual "between Christmas and New Years" date. We were seated next to the fireplace. It is a great, quite place for a date. The wine list has a lot to choose from and the chocolate martini was well made. There were also many local brews on the beer list. The food was good - tasty, well prepared, and nicely presented. They try to use local ingredients when possible. My octopus was not local (I would image), but it was very good - it was the first time I had octopus. I tasted my wifes chicken and it was well prepared also. My only complaint is that there were some ingredients in some of the dishes that I felt should have been listed on the menu. The two I am speaking of: 1 - the chocolate martini had mint in it. I dont think that is a standard and I would not have ordered it if I knew it contained mint 2 - my wife salad had anchovies on it - I traded her salad for my soup (my soup was better) as she doesnt like seafood. I liked the salad, but again, that should have been in the description. Overall, it is pricey, good food, great service, great place for a date, quiet. (leave the kids at home for this one).

First off, the food was amazing. Hats off to the chef. This was one of the best meals I have had in Indy. Why did I not give 5 stars? We were engulfed by fruit flies throughout the meal. Could they have done something about it? Im not sure. But it did significantly take away from the enjoyment of the evening out while continuously swatting bugs out of our face and hair (we were at an indoor table). My wife and I tried to deal with it, but finally told the waiter that it was a problem. The bottom line is that it sullied an otherwise enjoyable evening. I didnt expect a lot, but showing some empathy and concern would have been welcome. A simple act like comping one of our drinks would have been nice. Instead, unfortunately, I left with a somewhat negative memory. Too bad as I did really enjoy the food. On the bright side, hopefully this was a one-off event.

The experience is overall fantastic; the atmosphere is very inviting with a great deal of attention placed on presentation it makes you feel at home. The food is very well paired and staff provided a wonderful explanation of why the foods are paired. They do provide a small selection because they focus on being very good at what they prepare…beverages and deserts both seemed to compliment their menu well. We had attended as part of a celebration and they read the comments on our reservation and welcomed us for the celebration specifically…this attention to detail is hard to find in many places. Overall I would recommend Meridian on Meridian to anyone looking to celebrate or just enjoy.

!!Corrected - after talking to the manager, who replied in a timely manner, I was sent a gift card and politely asked to return. My wife and I went back and had a pleasant dinner with kind staff. This place is a treasure in Indianapolis that should be shared with friends and family! Original - Went for the Valentines special and came out disappointed. Heard great reviews and expected top notch quality. The food left much to be desired, the server forgot what we ordered, and the champagne toast never came. Menu was comparable to Devour Downtown at 2x the price. Wont do this again for a romantic dinner but maybe a nice lunch and order off the regular menu.

Dined last night with a party of six. Waiter was slow, arrogant and not attentive. Ordered the Hawaiian Marlin which was tough to chew due to obvious over-cooking. The apple pie dessert made for a beautiful presentation but lacked substance and taste with barely an apple that I could find. The atmosphere is fantastic but I did notice cobwebs when I looked up at the lights. This was our second time to dine here and definitely our last. For the money, there are much better choices in the Indianapolis area.

Good was ok had bland fish tacos. Biggest issue was the waiter and cross-contamination i noticed that he was resting the water pitcher on the glass when he would refill. He rested it right where my lips had been in the glass then did then with everyones glass at the table.... And the next table... And the next table. Regretfully i was there for a business lunch so could not make a comment, but Im truly disgusted. Will never return!

Whoever did the initial "review" on the Google "opening" sure likes "quotation marks". Maybe a little "too much". Id prefer to show my enthusiasm for Meridian. Great restaurant with a cozy ski lodge feeling inside and a great menu. I highly recommend the seasonal Osso Buco. The service is top notch and the bar staff makes a great martini. You wont be sorry you went. You may be prone to excessive quotation marking though.

4 of us dined there last night. The waiter recommended corn soup that tasted only of liquid smoke. The wasabi mashed potatoes were bright green and tasted so strongly of wasabi you could not taste potato. The beet salad was great and my salmon was good (but it was on top of those awful potatoes). My nephew found a hair on his steak. It is a pretty expensive place for Indianapolis. I had much higher expectations.

Went for Fathers Day dinner with my daughter, future son inlaw, son and granddaughters. The place is cozy with a nice atmosphere. Wouldnt recommend for young chidren the menu isnt kid friendly. I have to admit the food was tasteful. Everyone wanted to taste what the next person had. I would go again and try something new because the menu constantly changes.

I have had nothing but great experiences at this restaurant. The service is always excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and intimate. Additionally, the chef is always creating the most exquisite dishes for special occasions and seasons throughout the year. I am always recommending this place to friends and family.

This place has a really great atmosphere. The price is great for what you get. I ordered the steak frittes. The salad and fries were very fresh and the steakids was delicious. The staff was great and the chef delivered my food himself.

Great food, lots of local ingredients, attentive, knowledgeable waiters and waitresses, menu that changes often. Never had a bad meal there! Outdoor patio is great in the evenings along picturesque Meridian. Pricey and well worth it.

The food and wine selection are fantastic. The entree choices leave something to be desired for vegetarians, I had one option available to me. The do support gluten free patrons as well.

Food was great. Location had parking near by and valet. Inside the restaurant was nice and clean. The plates and cups are a tad bit old but no biggie. Would definitely come back.

Terrible service coupled with even worse food! I cant believe how bad we were treated and how bad the food tasted, nevermind how bad it smelled! Go anywhere else.

One of the top notch Indianapolis offerings. Everything from the wine list to the boar bolognese was world class. The premium service was the cherry on top.
