Recently just move to Crawfordsville so my love Muffin took me to this restaurant. The Deck was beautiful the river was runnig high and strong u could tell there had been a recent storm.... that was the highlight of this restaurant. I didnt kno they had an open stove night for amateur cooks because the food...... Dam !! Ordered a couple of beers to start the evening and we felt as though by doing so we were viewed as second class citizens.. They didnt bother to bring glasses much less a nice frosty mug. We we expected to schlep from the dirty bottle like red necks. The service? Whats the rule on how many times one has to ask for a frosted mug, napkings, ect before getting up and doing it yourself ?? No. We will not go here again for anything other then a fising trip on Sugar Creek....

I live close to this place. Been here several times and underwhelmed each time. My review is based on this not a one-time bad experience which may or may not be representative. Here is why I wont be back: #1 The food is mediocre at best. I have tried many things on the menu and have not been impressed by ANY of them. It is all lousy or mediocre. Prices are more than fast food, but the food does not deliver. #2 Service is S L O W. Think really slow, even when the place is 75% empty. Takes forever to get drinks, get food, get refills. This is over several visits with several different waitresses. Just how they operate there. Have a drink and head to the deck overlooking Sugar Creek to enjoy that spectacular view. Think twice about ordering any food here though.

Recently, one of the roughest bars in town closed down.... after the roughest bar in town burned down. Well, the crowd is on the move again. After trashing The Lew Wallace Inn, theyve descended on Creekside. My friends and I used to like hanging out at their establishment and my girlfriend and I used to eat their about once every two weeks. Decent enough food, but the new clientele are ruining it for us. When a table of them were asked to keep the shouting and swearing down, the complainants were met outside when they left for their car. Very intimidating and becoming quite unpleasant. Decent food, but who wants to get stabbed in the parking lot? No thanks. Well take our money elsewhere.

Food was well cooked, just not cooked well. Everything was safe to eat by having the right ammount of heat applied for the right ammount of time. However, spices (salt, pepper, paprika, garlic,...) were only visiting tbe food at most, not really present. I had the smothered chicken with green beans and needed bbq to get some flavoring. The shrimp cocktail was a good starter with homemade cocktail sauce (not very hot and a true ketsup base). The cheeseburger soup was pretty much fried greasy burger with runny milk gravy. Once again, no spices or flavor noticeable. All in all, edible but not worth the half hour drive again.

It was ok this time. Service was great as usual, but this time wew invited friends and of course the meal wasnt lime it was the previous two times. My steak over cooked, potatoes were cold n my wifes steak was well cooked. One of my friends got fish, good deal, but fries.... he had 7 french fries..lol. the skins were hard, n everything was just bland. But out waitress was a great host, filled glasses, and asked if she could take our food back, but after an already busy day, we just wanted to eat, and go to bed.

Super delicious food and atmosphere that surprised me! We arrived early for lunch on July 4th 2016. We were quickly seated indoors but there was plenty of seating outdoors as well. The lodge has a vintage, outdoor sportsman feel with old rifles, shotguns and hunting decor scattered about on the walls. The staff were very friendly. Food was quick to our table and all four of us in my party thoroughly enjoyed our selection. We will definitely be back here in the near future. Highly recommended!

Let me start with the positives, we were seated immediately, and the atmosphere inside was great, it really reminded me of an old lodge and made me think about what the building must have been before it became a restaurant. The staff was attentive and friendly as well. Now the cons. The food was horrible. You could tell it was strait out of the freezer, and a can. I would not suggest going here unless you really want to be horribly disappointed in your choice of food.

A quick stop after a long day at the Covered Bridge Festival. Our server was pleasant, fast and attentive. The food came out quick and was great, just what needed after a long day hiking. I ordered the chicken salad lite fair. Add tomatoes and it was an excellent healthy choice. The wife preferred the special and loved it. There were several tables around us and the food came out quick and hot and looked great. Next time we will sit outside overlooking the Creek.

I dont normally put much stock in reviews. I had to find out for myself. Fish and chips were hot, not bad. White plastic tables outside look dirty even after being wiped off. I simply think stained from bug poop. Had a huge hair in my cole slaw. Mug of beer on round 2 had a chip on the glass that could cut someones lip pretty good. Just poured it in the first glass. I wouldnt say dont go, just decide what you want for expectations.

This spot has amazing outdoor seating. The menu is wide range. There is even a vegan veggie burger which is always a plus. We got the loaded fries and it was a generous portion and could have easily been a whole meal. We also got the catfish nuggets and they werent our favorite. For 2 beers, loaded fries and a fish platter we paid $35 including tip. The staff was friendly and an overall enjoyable experience.

Our meal here was a pretty big disappointment. The service was terrible. Our waiter never picked one dish up from our table, even when we were running out of room and there were empty, dirty plates. He didnt write anything down and then got the orders wrong or forgot things. Parts of the meals were inedible... seriously. Freezer burnt, cold, dry fries and stale chips. Too bad. Nice view though.

Service was horrible. Soup was like it had went through a blender and burnt, waitresses were rude when something had to be sent back, food was cold and someone at our table looked like the biscuit she got had a bite out of it the waitress said that they just fall apart in the pan sometimes which is no excuse. Sixty dollars for three people to have dinner and the food was horrible never going back.

The best non-chain restaurant in Crawfordsville. We take all our out-of-town guests here in the Spring and Fall when the outdoor patio seating is open and the view of the creek is spectacular. The service is hit-and-miss and the food itself is only 3.5 stars - but if your looking for a unique Crawfordsville dining experience Creekside is as good as it gets.
