Very consistent sushi at this location, at the other one, not so much. Very talented people rolling. Decor has been recently updated and its a bit more upbeat and clean but its still not going to win any awards in the decorating department....which, as long as the sushi is awesome, it doesnt matter, and in their case, it is. Our favorite sushi in Rockford. Clean, tight, inexpensive, and no tip required, but we always tip at the counter because we feel theyre the sushi underdogs and they deserve recognition. Heres hoping they stay humble and dont outgrow their britches like most other sushi places in Rockford.

FOOD POISONING..... A delivery order was placed on January 30, 2014. All three people who ate Hachi Hachi came down with food poisoning. Not recommended!.....Follow-up: I called the restaurant over a dozen times requesting to speak to a manager regarding the food poisoning. I NEVER received a call back from a manager. So, not even a refund on what I spent. At this point I’m leaving the issue up to karma and won’t be wasting any time or money on Hachi Hachi. I’ll also note that after speaking to others Ive learned this is not an uncommon experience with Hachi Hachi.

Wow. Seriously good food. My husband and I spent $70 on sushi at JMK last week and it was so-so. We had the $4.50 Spicey Yellowtail Roll at Hashi Hashi and it was SO delicious - FAR more delicious than anything we ate at JMK. We also had Hitachi dinners which were very taste and well portioned. Very good food. Especially EXCELLENT for take out. My husband said their service was very good too. We will def. be eating here again.

Worst customer service I have ever received!!! The women on the phone was so unbelievably rude after I called too tell her the sushi we had delivered two miles down the road was warm and smelled terrible. She proceeded to tell me the sushi may not be guaranteed to be cold when it arrived and to never call or order again. I cannot believe they allow such horrible people to work at a place that use to be good.

Ive always had good experiences with Hachi Hachi I would eat there constantly it WAS Emmy favorite sushi place. But Ive been waiting for almost an hour on a delivery order. The lady on the phone claimed not to have received the order and then claimed it was already on its way. Usually when I deliver it comes within 20 min max. But three times that time? I think thats outrageous.

As of 11/28/2009, their site is out of date, showing old hours and touting delivery as a new thing "beginning in 2007". I think they close at 10pm? But their food is nice, offering the Hibachi fares of a place like Shogun for a lower price. Fast food quality, served in styrofoam boxes. Expect to pay about $6 to $8. Their salad, with the house dressing, is really good.

The house salad, miso, and gyoza were great. The main rolls, not so much. Everything was good, but the kani tasted odd. Other than that, the salmon was great, and the yellowtail was very good. The service was alright; we werent greeted when we walked in, but they were quick. The cashier was new, but working hard. Kudos to the sushi chef; he was on the ball.

A lot of stuff they prepare comes from Wal-Mart. They bring it over in the trunk of there car and take it inside. Then you can go there any time and see the cooks out back smoking with there prep gloves on. Then go back inside and start cooking again with the same gloves on!! You have been warned !!!

Great food terrible service. I order here all the time because I love there food but everytime I order theres some difficulty I can barely understand them or they get my order wrong and then there bold enough to argue with me and tell me I ordered what they gave which is completely wrong

This place continues to go downhill. Spend your money literally anywhere else. The quality is poor. The rolls do not taste fresh and the service is mediocre at best. You really do get what you pay for. Ill stick to spider or Marcs when I have my sushi cravings.

I ordered a cucumber salad, chicken fried rice and sushi. I was displeased with ALL! The food does not taste fresh. It did not take them long to deliver my food which I was pleased, but now I see why ... There is no love in the food and the flavors are off!

Ive eaten here for a couple years faithfully and their food and service have continued to decrease in quality. Never eating here again. Multiple eye lashes in my food last time I ordered. Shrimp poorly cooked.

I love their chicken hibachi! Its yummy and well priced. I got scallops the last time and they were kind of lackluster but everything else was good. Potstickers were the best my mother-in-law has ever had :-)
