My family has lived here since 1977 and always loved Pizza Place pizza we started buying pizza from another local restaurant several years back because the quality had not been "up to par" and the employees where foul mouthed swearing and carrying on while customers waited with there young children. Today 1-26-2008 we decided to give them another try and quickly remembered why we stopped to begin with ! The first pizza was burnt, literally to the point that it was inedible we called and talked to the manager and they said they would replace it we returned home with the second and unfortunately we did not check it before we left the second time, and to our disappointment it too was burnt !! with chunks of other burnt pizzas stuck to the bottom obviously they dont clean there ovens very often. It is sad to see what used to be great place to eat turn to such crap !!!

This place is a hot mess. Placed an order today only to have them tell me that I didnt order what I said I did (mix up over toppings on an-already-done pizza) - insane unprofessionalism while each of the workers tried to place blame on the other before turning the blame on me. The building is gross - I highly doubt there arent bugs roaming around somewhere which has always been my nervousness about this place but its local so we try to support smaller businesses. The guy who was annoyed that the pizza was put in the system wrong had only two (rotting) teeth - something that makes me wonder if he cant take care of his teeth, how could he possibly be so kind as to wash his hands before tossing around our dough and toppings. Yikes. Never going back and I hope others dont either. Pick another place to give your hard-earned money to!

I live in Wisconsin grew up and work in Chicago. I am a very picky person when it comes to pizza. I rate the pizza place one of the top 5 thin crust pizzas in all of Lake County and top 10 in all Chicagoland. They have the perfect combination of the right sauce, not overdoing the spices and just the right amount of sweetness. The sasage, thats right SASAGE (in Chicago we dont say Sausage) well anyway its seasoned right with a little fennel. The crust is also perfect not too thin like a wafer and not too thick and doughy. Growing up in Chicago in the 60 and 70s all the Ma&Pa pizza places served thin crust pizzas just like "The Pizza Place" I dont know where or when the so called Chicago deep dish came on the scene but in the neighborhoods it was all thin crust, although deep dish is OK once in awhile.

The pizza is great! The new building is very nice...but they lack service. Last Saturday I was there as a party of 4. They had a pizza maker working and a girl taking orders and then making those orders. 2 people of our group got food right away because they ordered pizza slices but two people had to wait 20 minutes while the girl taking orders took 5 peoples orders and then made the food while the pizza guy had only 1 pizza in the oven... He should have switched with her an taken orders while she made the food because the register is next to the pizza oven and he would be able to manage both areas.

Please read! I would give it zero stars but Google makes me give it one star. I went in ordered two shakes and one sundae it took them half an hour to give me my order and thats only because I stood up and walked up to the cashier and he had my order in the back. An elderly man rudely commented on my order saying "thats a lot of fat for one ice cream" he lowered my self-esteem and made me feel bad about my body.I was not even talking to him and he decided to talk. Next time I will be taking my business to Galatis pizza. Where they actually care about the customer.

So our most recent visit involved being told it would take 20 mins, took over 40, place is falling apart, no ac... Which wouldnt have been much of an issue if I wasnt there for 20 mins waiting... And I was the only customer... Then theres the food, the pizza is good, though ours was overcooked and had a bunch of burnt cornmeal on the bottom, as if the oven hadnt been cleaned lately. And then our appetizer sampler had half the food stuck together... We have gone here since we moved here... And now I think a change is in order...

Dont be fooled by the sketchy exterior or decor. They dont undercook or glop on the toppings. Its not stunningly good pizza, but its a solid local place, best weve had without a long drive. Weve made this our regular spot when we just dont feel like cooking. On nice days, theres a picnic table outside. Delivery is always prompt and the drivers are friendly. I can only imagine what the complainers must think of as "good." Bland, doughy, and gloppy?

Would normally give them 5 stars but brought my wife and daughter here for a few slices for lunch yesterday and I think they either served us pizza leftovers from the night before or their pizza warmer was not working. The sauce was luke warm and the cheese was not even melted. I usually order whole pizzas and have always had excellent quality but was vary dissapointed in the slices. I probably should have asked for my money back but I didnt.

As a Chicago native, I can honestly say the pan pizza here is my favorite pizza Ive had anywhere. Its not traditional Italian by any means, but its perfect. The buttery crust; the chunky tomato sauce; the superior mozzarella. None of the big names can compare, and Ive eaten them all. Its pretty shocking for a hole in the wall place on the railroad tracks.

Well Im assuming the food I just received was ice cold, except the fries I waited for, because its 10pm and past closing time. Doors where open, open sign on. Cold hot dogs really arent for me. Im kinda ticked I left a $4 tip on a $6 bill. Tip paid pre prep, wth. No one likes working late, take some pride in what you do or just say sorry, were closed.

The Pizza Place has always been a good place to go eat pizza the best part of all was the new remodeled building that brings a new vibe to the place. I just wish the menus had picture description or a visual description of the menu items because my brother has autism and can hear or talk, therefore he only picks out his food by pointing at what he wants.

The rudest people on earth my girlfriend was just in there for ice cream (the only customer) and the 2 kids working were talking with a friend about riding a bike in the parking lot when. When my girlfriend asked for help the lady said "yeah in a minute" very snotty and walked away. Yes needless to say I will not be going back

So apparently delivery runs from 11am-1pm and then starts back up at 5pm. So if you want delivery between those times, or call in just prior to 1pm youre out of luck. They dont TAKE a delivery up to 1pm, so its a smaller window than that too. Oh well, I guess Ill move on to one of the 42 different pizza places around.
