I refrained from writing my review immediately to calm down, but I find my anger over my experience has only grown. So here is the story: at the time of my visit I was an ostimate. This means I poop into a bag strapped to my stomach. The people in line for the bathroom understood my need and allowed me to go next. From the door mans perspective, I had just cut a significant line for the single occupant bathroom. This man took his job quite seriously and had on what looked like a lightweight bullet vest, very "tacticool" with all of its straps and pockets. He opened the door and removed me from the bathroom. Between the bathroom and exit, I took a little drink napkin to wipe the poop dripping out, and discarded it to the floor. The overzealous doorman retrieved the napkin and grabbed me by the back of my collar in the parking lot. He pulled me back so that I could put my trash into the proper receptacle, a noble cause if not for the battery. I doubt he understood what was happening or that he touched my poop. I can only hope he washed his hands after, a luxury I was not given, and that this place is under new management. I cannot speak about the quality of their food, but based on the cleanliness of the bathroom, I would not risk eating here even if I was not immunocompromised.

I love La Charangas food!!! My daughter wanted Mexican food served at her Bridal Shower, we tasted many local restaurants....and when we found La Charanga, our search was over! The management/staff are wonderful, they adjusted their catering menu to provide me with the perfect plan for the Shower. I will be back!! Everyone at the Shower loved the food!! Success! Tacos anyone? Carla S

I am sorry to have to write this, especially after reading so many good reviews. Went in (1/18/2016) and the smell of incense was over-powering. When I go to a restaurant I want to smell the food cooking. If the incense was this strong I cant enjoy my own food OR I wonder what smell they are trying to cover up. Sorry. But I cant come back.

Better than your typical corner Mexican restaurant, this place is clean and well decorated inside. The owners are great and give you only the best of service. The food is delicious and full of flavor. I love their al pastor tacos! They offer takeout as well.

Im super picky with my mexican food, and there are a ton of choices in the area and this is definitely the best. Best prices, best food. I really like the spicy chicken tacos, but steak anything is good too.

Their chile rellenos are to die for. Owners are very friendly and they make a good homemade rumchata. Have been coming here for a few years and everything ordered has been delicious.

Awesome lengua and al pastor tacos. Ive been to Central Mexico a couple times, and think this is one of the more authentic restaurants in the northwest suburbs.

Great steak tacos! Rice and beans are good too. Rice isnt too dry like many places. I try to eat there for lunch every couple weeks.
