5/31/17 - Today, I had a bad experience at this establishment. The food was decent. My mother and I attended this place on a recommendation. We ordered Chow Mein, Pad Thai Chicken, and Szechuan Beef. An older gentleman was serving us. Dinner experience was okay although it took 15 mins to refill my water each time it emptied. As we were about to leave, I told the waiter to pack the half uneaten Szechaun Beef and Pad Thai. As I waited for my food to be packed, the waiter gives to-go food to the next table over. Immediately they rush out of the restaurant. As my mother and I waited, we paid the bill and gave a 15% tip. Well, 15 mins passed after we paid and still no left over food packaged and to go. We ask the waiter where is our food and he says "I thought I gave it to you already". He then goes away to check and comes back and says "Sorry, sorry, sorry" while expecting us to leave without our fully paid food which we didnt even get to finish or take home. My mother got upset and told the waiter to either give us a discount on the food we ate because we didnt even finish it all or well talk to the manager. The waiter continues to apologize and tells us "Next time, next time!" I dont understand what he meant by next time? Next time what? Free food? Next time youll actually deliver my paid food left overs to the right table? Then the waiter tells me "Why didnt you tell me?!" Why would I have to tell you where to bring food. For all I know, the table next to us had left overs and they asked for it to go. I dont know what in the box. So after the waiter tries to put blame on me for not pointing out that I should have told him the food he was giving to the next table was ours, he says "Ok, ok, Ill pay for it". He grabs a $10 dollar bill and gives it to my mother. At this point Im not sure what to say but we were pretty upset. The waiter didnt deserve the 15% tip on the $41.87 bill I gave to him. In short, the waiter gave half my szechaun beef and pad thai chicken to someone else , tried to make us leave without our food, then tried to blame us for his mistake. This is the FIRST and LAST time I would eat at this place. I DO NOT recommend Chef Pings restaurant after this kind of service.

The reviews speak for themselves. I am definitely a fan of Chef Ping. My rating is based on overall dining experience. Food - 5 Stars hands down. For Chinese dining, this place has the highest quality food in my opinion (and several of my friends opinions as well, we often go in groups of 6-10 here). Some of my favorite dishes (if youre not korean/chinese, just try to sound these out like theyre spelled and a waiter/waitress will most likely pick up on what you are trying to say): -"Wong Jong Pee" (tried to translate to english as best as I could haha) - this is a thin noodle platter (jelly noodles) with sauce that resembles spicy mustard undertones (but not too strong unless you drench the foot in it). This is probably my favorite dish here! Your server will mix this for you and of is it delicious! -Honey Walnut Shrimp - guilty pleasure of mine here. The sauce is a little thick, but the shrimp is cooked very tenderly and is overall, an awesome dish. -Double Fried String Beans - never have vegetables tasted this good. Very delicious, especially if you like string beans -"PONG PONG Chicken" - this is a very solid dish and you may not find it on the menu easily. This comes as a pretty decent serving of chicken marinated in a sweet sauce, and served on a bone. -"Tang-See-Yook" - kind of a like a sweet and sour chicken, but not the sweet and sour red sauce. Very good pork dish! -Jam Pong - very good, one of their staple dishes (for a noodle platter) The customer service is probably right around 3 stars. They dont stand out for being good or bad. The food comes out at a decent time and they will check on you from time to time. Servers can be hit or miss, but I have never run into a dine-in here with an absolutely terrible server. Definitely recommend!

Chef Ping is a must try if you are a fan of Chinese food. Good Ambience, Clean and plenty of free street parking spots in front of the restaurant is very convenient. Our waiter Jim Bean who works only on weekends was very patient, smiling and helpful. We ordered for double fried pork, Beef and broccolini, spicy fish all with white rice and prok fried rice. The food was very authentic and had unique flavours. Chef used chinese pepper corns for the flavouring of the pork dish which made it very interesting. Beef broccoli was a bit sweet to our taste, but the spicy fish made it up. The fried rice had nice big chunks of pork in it. Their kids menu, the teriyaki chicken and the stir fried noodles were a big hit with the kids. It had a right proportion of greens and chicken. They have a wide selection of specialty Teas. Generally chinese places offer it complimentary so you would wonder why do they charge? I did the same but once you try their teas, you would not want to go back to the diluted, run down hot water the other places call tea.All their collectons are rich in flavours and aromas. And FYI their serving size are pretty huge, so we had enough left to enjoy it for our lunch the next day!

Terrible Chinese restaurant. Being asian, Ive gone to plenty of Chinese food Restaurants. But this place tops the cake for having the worst service I have ever experienced. PROS: -Restaurant is decently clean. -Food tastes Ok. CONS: -Service is terrible! And when I say terrible, I mean it. The Chinese lady who slightly served our table (Her name is Hong) demanded a higher tip on my $75 bill. Stating that 3 dollars wasnt enough. However a tip is given for a job well done. She did nothing of the sort. She ignored us, food was served by a 6 different staff. She gave awesome service to the american families around us, but completely treated us like garbage. As we were walking out of the restaurant, she hails us down, demanding we give her more. My father-in-law doesnt speak much english, so she hounded him for more money. -Earlier I said restaurant is clean, and it is for the most part. Seats are well taken care of, and most of the restaurant from what I can see. However, I had to fight my food with at least 5 Flies. Talk about gross. Honestly, I would rather go to Panda Express than this joke of a restaurant. This is one of the worst Chinese Restaurants I have ever gone to, period.

Located in what clearly used to be a Bakers Square, this is where my family goes to celebrates almost every occasions. On every occasion weve had to wait atleast 45 minutes for a table and we still go back, its that good. This place doesnt serve your typical chinese food. Its chinese with a little korean twist. Most if not all the servers are Chinese but they all lived in Korea which explains why they are all tri-lingual. Ok, enough with the terrible and brief history lesson. The must haves are the pong pong chicken (aka chicken lillipops) and jja jjang myun (the black noodles youll see on almost every table). The menu is huge like in all real Chinese places and filled with a lot of good stuff. These two items are staples for every visit. There is a lot of debate which is better, Chef Ping vs Yus Mandarin. An analogy would be: Chef Ping is to Yus Mandarin, what Burts Place is to Pequods Pizza. After making a mark at one place, they both left to start their own place. Ill be honest and say if given a blind test in both situations, I probably wouldnt be able to tell them apart. Id suggest you try them both and decide which is better if any.
