Im sure quite a few people like this place. If you want a rare treat then get two orders of eggrolls and fried rice. Not spring rolls. Most chinese places have eggrolls that are similar to spring rolls. These have a thin crispy outside stuffed with delicious soft insides. Peanut oily yummy. Im betting that all of their sauces disguise the meat. I ordered delivery. It was timely and reasonably priced. I ordered my favorite, sweet sour chicken. They packed the sauce seperatly. Yummy. The chicken however was similar to the taste of a Mcnugget or tyson chicken nugget. The fried rice was egg heavy. Not my style. I will order eggrolls from here often but drive to grayslake for Tangs sweetsour chicken. Google kids review shunned the eggrolls. So a word of warning, to each their own eggroll. If you like the average eggroll, (you can get one from manchu wok or panda express) then dont get them at Hunan. If you like fat, crispy, peanutoily with yummy soggy insides then get some spicey mustard and sweetsour sauce and go to town on these bad boys.

We were in the area for a craft class and decided to stop here because it was convenient. We came in a little after noon on a Saturday. The atmosphere was nice, the service prompt. We had our soup within ten minutes of sitting down, and our entrees arrived just as we finished the soup. I had Mongolian beef, fried rice, egg drop soup, and crab Rangoon. My friend ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, egg drop soup, and an egg roll. The food was good, more authentic Chinese than you usually see in a strip mall restaurant, and the portions were generous. We both took leftovers home. I would definitely go here again.

2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th visit now. Same impression. Excellent Mongolian Beef. Simple, great tasting affordable food. Honest and real. Impressively clean tidy mens restroom. Clean, quaint, prompt service. Amazing value for a quick lunch. With my lunch special, i oredered Governors Chicken which comes with egg roll or crab rangoon and your choice of soup. I chose hot and sour. The quality of the food and the freshness surprised me the most. It was freshly made, hot and steamy. I prefer Chinese food to order over buffets any day. I will be a repeat customer and happy to recommend this family owned business.

Hunan Palace is by far the best chinese food around! My favorite is the blossom chicken. Also the mongolian beef is delicious as well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a yummy, reasonably priced chinese food. The crabmeat rangoons are to die for! i dont know where i would go if Hunan Palace didnt exist. If you have never been to Hunan Palace then you have not experienced yummy chinese food!

By far the best Chinese restaurant I have found in Lake County. For the first time we finally had great authentic egg rolls and fried rice. The Chinese restaurants in McHenry, Fox Lake, Antioch and Round Lake dont have a clue how to make good Chinese meals. Hot and sour and Wanton soups were so flavorful. Short of having to go to Chinatown we now have a nice place to go within short drive from our home.

My fiance and I went to Hunan for the first time, last night, and it was excellent. The food was comparable to some of the high-end Chinese restaurants we have visited in past two years. The service was fantastic and could not have been more pleased with the ambiance. Thank you for a great night out, Hunan.

Great Chinese food. Ive always enjoyed Hunan Palace in Libertyville. I typically order the Empress Chicken with an egg roll. Its fantastic, fresh and very large portions. The decor is nothing exciting, but come on, its Chinese food! Youre supposed to get take-out anyway right? Highly recommended.

Just know what your expectations are. I was hoping for a decent cuisine. This was way below par, lacking the complex flavors of good Hunan, Szechwan or Mandarin. Chicken with vegetables was in a watery, flavorless, brown sauce. Even the steamed white rice was disappointing. Save your money.

I am a fan of Kung Pao Chicken and wherever i go it is the first one i try at a chinese take out place,This place has amazing food, i like the Kung pao especially , also their hunan chicken is goos. Egg rolls are too much oil though. .... But at chinese take out levels food is great.

First off, this isnt a "Dining experience" its good place to get decent take out and thats about it. That being said, Ive always had great service and good food. The few times I HAVE eaten at the place wasnt terrible. Its just not anything special.

Great Chinese food with very low price. you can get a dish, rice, soup for 6-8 bucks. highly recommend the hot and sour soup and the seafood combo
