We had a very poor experience. We ordered Americanos that came out heavily diluted with 30oz of water in giant glasses. The macchiato was downright sour. Most of the food could have been more cooked. My scrambled eggs came out as a lightly cooked omelet coated in olive oil. The waffles werent served as ordered, nor cooked enough. Same thing with the breakfast sausage (I ordered bacon). My hash browns had a light toast on the top but were cold and underdone on the bottom. All the melons and pineapple were served with rind still attached which you have to remove at the table. I am also pretty confident the organic and conventional options are all the same stock of ingredients. When I asked for conventional, the waiter mentioned the dangerous plastics involved. Why serve it if you think youre serving plastic? The place had a few interesting paintings, though...

What a miserable experience. Oak Parkers seem to love this place and I cant seem to figure out why. I have been here multiple times over multiple years and have yet to have a good experience. The interior is a mish-mash of "art" and wobbly tables and chairs. The coffee is strong and okay, but its nothing that I would ever desire to drink. Soy milk is 75 cents, if you want that instead of cream. The hashbrowns taste funny, almost cheesy to me, but the waitstaff insists that its just potatoes and oil. Crying babies are the norm and service always seems to take forever. They do have music regularly, but the space is small and the musicians always use amps to the point where you can hear it from a block away. Unfortunately, theres just nothing comfortable about this place.

waitress name is James, he wont leave me alone to point where I felt so uncomfortable and didnt even eat salad and they still charge then I have mgr come to me and he act like he never saw deaf people before. Kept talk to me and I kept wrote on paper and he continue then I asked him can we talk on paper? He still continue speak to me. I felt so INSULTED! I will never come back and will tell my friend about this place. You deserved to get star Zero!

I want to love this place b/c it is a locally-owned business. The decor is cute, but the service is sub-standard. I had to ask several times for a glass of water. I asked for my salad dressing on the side, but it came on the salad. I had to continuously hunt down my waiter. Im normally very forgiving of service when a place is busy, but it was not busy at all. If you go here, dont go w/ the expectations of good service.

Sunday Brunch! Out of many brunch places i have been to, i keep coming back to this the most. Their organic menu is amazing with really good variety. My fav. thing on the menu is their Organic Southwestern Breakfast Wrap with fried egg and tofu. Also i know my girlfriend cant get enough of their Mexican Spiced Mocha. This is def. a hidden gem of Oak Park Art district and im so glad i was able to find my way towards it.

Have to say being a big person on organic meals, this had to be the worst meal, since the beginning of time. After getting the buzz egg breakfast, it would be comparable to $1 mcdonalds breakfast. My gf got the egg sandwich and wasnt happy either. Her pancakes tasted like a bisquick product. As well as items were forgotten, and was just unhappy overall. Wont be returning, and we drove 20 minutes to try the place!

Mexican spiced mocha was soooo gooood!!! Ive only eaten here once so far, but Im so happy to have discovered this place because I work nearby and this is the 1st nice little spot Ive found to eat a t. Place was very lively & seemed cozy. Cant wait to dine in. So happy they serve organic food and have soy/almond milk options! Highly reccommend if your in the area (or not!) & craving breakfast foods :)

Their coffee is ok, and the location is good, right at the edge of the Arts District in Oak Park. I think their prices are a little steep though, but they are pretty much the only game in town and Im big on supporting local businesses. I have not tried any of the food, but the space is nice, with art on the walls, and its always busy.

It took awhile for this place to grow on me. But Ive had a reason to come for breakfast once a month on Saturdays. The "market musicians" are here playing, the atmosphere is mildly energetic and I eat much healthier foods than I used to so the menu is now more attractive to me. I walk in with a spring in my step. A local treasure.

Their coffee was far superior to Caribou, and I like supporting a local business. Its great to look at the art on the walls while waiting for your order. My only complaint is that the seating is uncomfortable. Also, I dont think they have wifi (?) - or they dont advertise it well.

The ultimate neighborhood cafe, Oak Park style--Metropolis Coffee, excellent breakfasts, soups, pie, organic and locally sourced produce and meats, gluten free options; pricier than standard fare. It can get loud and busy and there will be kids, but its all part of the charm.

As good as upscale, causal cafes and breakfast spots get. Damn fine coffee! Great food prepared with pristine thoughtfully-sourced, and in many cases organic ingredients. A beautiful parade of all walks of life. My wife and I are working hard to be regulars there! <3

Food is usually very good (Try the buzz egg sandwich) and decor is nice (they have artwork on the wall for sale all over the restaurant). Service is sometimes good but sometimes it is really slow. Also it is over priced ($10 breakfast sandwich, $5 side of bacon, etc).

Its a nice little coffee shop with delicious breakfasts. I had a potato cake with salmon, feta, and spinach that was really fantastic. Was told the chef on Tuesdays and Thursdays is especially skilled. Coffee was fine but nothing special.

Oak Park is really lacking for good independent coffee shops, but this is a gem. Cosy, with excellent food and drinks, its a great addition to the village. The arts district, or even the village as a whole, needs more places like this.

Wonderful little coffee shop and cafe. Had some yummy breakfast items and lots of organic options (for those who fancy them). Also had a nice kids area to unleash the hounds so the big kids can chat in peace.

This is a cool family friendly place. A cute play room in the back. Food is tasty, but I would like more variety in the menu. Staff was very helpful in accommodating my friend with food allergies.

Great food, organic options, gluten free options, tasty coffee, servers are always helpful and attentive. Can have breakfast, lunch, pastry or just a drink. Plus, the kids can play in the back!!

Very friendly staff...fast service. I didnt eat so you sit in back in the kids corner...toys covered the floor and made it dangerous for me and the elderly. Love the local artwork everywhere :)

If youre looking for a local coffee shop, this is it. Hidden gem in the Oak Park Arts District. Food is fresh and good with organic options and the espresso drinks keep me coming back.
