I lived in Chicago up until the age of about 11, and I cant recall even hearing about this place; not once! We didnt live all that far from Midlothian ~ Bolingbrook. I know I wasnt having that vague "familiarity" with the name, "Hog Wild," from a childhood experience. Where was it coming from? It finally dawned on me, I had seen this place on more than a few restaurant / cooking shows on the Food Network. It all rushed back to me at once. Myself, and the two others I was with, were forced to drop what we were doing, and head-out to Midlothian. We arrived maybe 30 mins. after the place opened, so there werent many there. I was compelled to take pictures out front, and of the "Cabin in the Woods" toasty atmosphere once inside. I ordered a full slab of their famous baby-back-pork ribs. I remember going to fill our drinks up at the machine and by the time I got back to the table all the food had already been there. I dont want to put any "bad juju" on the place by praising it to death - But... That meal was in my Top-3 Best Meals So Far In Life. True Bliss. Dont change a thing.

This place is insanely far away from everywhere anyone might live but it is WELL worth the trip. I regularly drive out from Oak Park. Their pulled pork is just incredible. Must be eaten to be believed. Their pork chop is MASSIVE. Their prices are LOW. The service is ridiculously fast-- if your group only orders pork, it will be on the table before you get your drink from the fountain. Free cake and watermelon for dessert as of 1/2014. One time we came here and parked in the back lot and someone actually picked us up in a stretch golf cart and drove us to the door. (We were parked very close and werent disabled or anything... Just insanely good service.) Only drawbacks are how fast everything happens, it feels as if you are subsumed by a whirlwind. When you drive all the way out there you kinda want to linger, you know? But there are a billion good dessert places in Oak Lawn next door so just continue your party elsewhere. Well worth the trip out there. Do it tomorrow! (Any questions just tweet at 2cooljohn)

Ive been coming here for about eight years now and Im so lucky that I found this place by accident. I was driving around looking for military base back when I was in the Army and I found it near Crestwood. The first thing I had was the original Porkchop it was huge tender and delicious and it was such a good value. Ever since then Ive pretty much tried every single thing on the menu just to try it since I knew everything was good and I enjoyed it all especially the brisket and ribs. by far the best and Ive had many in different states and these are definitely comparable to some of the best Ive had in South Carolina at over in St. Louis. The Cajun chicken sandwich is also very good and the prices are great even with the rate of inflation for eight years though value is still good for the amount of food you get. Ill never stop coming back to this place until they close down for good. Which at this rate itll probably outlive me!!!

this place puts all other restaurants to shame! the employees here are amazing! once you walk in you can literally see how hard they are working to get your food fast. Much respect. other establishments could learn from this place. never had such fast service anywhere. i bought some new grilled chicked sandwhich fries and nacho cheese. its okay nothing to complain about not bad fills you up price is very reasonable. would def recommend. my order was to go. the place looked nice and clean. i did see a sign about having to pay 100 if your with 12 ppl and are staying over an hour. which idk... only bad thing i seen about the place. nothing is worse when your trying to relax and eat and theres pressure for you to leave people pay for the experience telling them fees and fines or putting pressure on guests isnt very welcoming if you ask me.experience is everything. but i cant say much i wasnt seated my order was to go

My husband and I went to Hog Wild last night for the meatloaf dinner. The meatloaf was dry and tasteless. We ate and boxed up our left overs. We sat there for a minute talking and the bus boy comes over and says, "We need the table, you will have to leave". What??? I turn around and there is no line of people waiting to be seated and there are two tables empty behind us. It was later in the evening and they were slow, there was no rush. I guess that they thought we spent a few minutes to long there. I thought that was pretty rude. They didnt seem to have a problem when they took our thirty bucks for the meal, though. We have been to Hog Wild several times before this visit but, we wont be going back after being treated like this. Our money is good anywhere. This proves that it is all about the money and not customer satisfaction. That is sad.

My husband and I odered a beef brisket and full slab of ribs to share. The ribs were tough and dried out. I tasted one of the ribs and my husband choked down two of the ribs. When we finally got someone to tell about our order...she said she would get the manager. 5 minutes later, she comes back and says she will replace the order, but could not replace the whole slab that we ordered, since we had eaten some! We couldnt believe what we heard! We knew that once the cook saw how bad our order was, our full order would surely be replaced. Nope! 5 minutes later, she brings us a 1/2 slab of ribs....no manager...no apologies. She says the cook would like to know how this order is. She leaves. No one ever comes back. Neither will we.

Five Star All The Way, Ive went to this place since the 90s when they were just a small place starting out. They have been the best since then. The owner is a genius in the restaurant-business. Hog Wild is a very comfortable place and has a rustic-feel like home with modern touches, I say its the best around. They are always busy,...the workers are always running back and forth serving tables. There must be 20 to 25 workers that never stop. Just pulling into the parking lot feels like your in a different place and everyone that is there are so friendly to each other. Hog Wild with its ski-lodge atmosphere has been bringing out the best in people since day one. Hog Wild is the place to look forward too when going out to eat.

Ive been coming to this place for years and they have consistently had great food. My favorites change annually, the cajun chicken sandwich is tasty (I order mine without the cheese), I wish I knew how they keep the chicken so juicy. The sirloin steak sandwich is also good (again, without the cheese), and, of course, are theyre inch+ thick porkchops. You should also order the oven browns, theyre seasoned fried potato chunks (my description here is not doing them justice!). Over time, this place has never gone down, in fact theyve continued to improve. The remodeled interior is really nice, and they even have free cake for dessert for those that eat in. These extra touches make this place even more special!
