If youre in the mood for sushi on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday, go here to get a good deal. On those days, they have their sushi "happy hour," which gets you two, 6-piece rolls for $7. They have a separate menu for the happy hour, and it includes a decent selection of classic rolls and specialty rolls. If you want to see those options, you can view that menu on their website. Also check their site to confirm the happy hour time/days and price, in case it changes from my reviews post. The atmosphere is nothing fancy, and does not really give a Japanese or sushi vibe. I dont know if this was intentional because of their menu also having BBQ options, but no frills here. I can only speak for the service at the bar; Ive sat there every time Ive gone, and the girl they usually have on Tuesday nights is great. Knows the menu, is funny, and attentive. Although I have had fresher ingredients and better presentation at other sushi places, this place is not "bad." (Especially for $7.) I also like their seaweed salad; it has crab on top. However, when I went here a while ago with a friend who didnt like sushi, he opted for the BBQ Beef Tips, and they were gross-looking and shriveled. I only recommend to go here for sushi, during their happy hour.

Whenever my friend is in town, as in anywhere near Oak Forest, we head over to Sakebob to eat ourselves silly with sushi. Arguably the best visit was when we forgot what day it was and realized upon entering that it was a Thursday, smack dab in the middle of happy hour! AMAZING! They have a great selection of sushi and maki rolls with creative names and flavors. I prefer more mundane combinations (rice, fish, seaweed-->into mouth), of which they offer heartily, but I was pleasantly surprised with their "sexy, spicy, nude" roll and their "Las Vegas" roll. I look forward to going again, and this time hitting up their bar!

I ordered over the phone. I wanted to try there California rolls but It was impossible to understand what they were saying. I finally realized they were saying they dont have California rolls right now. So I said over and over that I want the Stir Fry Udon Lunch Combo for $7.95 instead. I said it probably 5 or 6 times. I get there to pick it up and the lady says $11.94. I told her I wanted to lunch combo not the dinner. She said no lunch special anymore. I get back open it up and they gave straight UDon soup. Not a stir fry. Never going back there again.

Anyone who knows sushi will naturally avoid anything "all-you-can-eat" or "two for one". I humored a friend by coming here and the place was deserted, the first red flag. I ordered The Yumi yumi roll and was presented with a disgusting pile of gooeys sauces and tempura crumbs, dry rice and rubbery fish. The fish itself was in short supply and obviously not fresh! This place is a joke, its "sushi" only in name. You get what you paid for-sushi for southsiders who think sushi means anything with cream cheese and soy sauce.

Okay so I was e,cc iter for sushi and went with friends. Got there and it was a terrible experience. The waitress was impatient, rushed us through ordering and even removed some of our original orders since she didnt like how we marked everything. Then after an hour of waiting, still got no food and thats when she said the food is just being made...really...at least give me a heads up or something, but no...anyways, it was my first time and now idk if Ill go back.

I know what youre thinking: A sushi joint in the south suburbs sounds like a joke. Some chef who couldnt make it in Chicago is forced to ply his trade in Oak Forest. Well, actually, the joke is on YOU if youre in the area and you dont stop by here for a meal and a good time. The sushi was good and the waitress was hilarious! Her quick wit and good-natured chafing, of course combined with excellent service, really made an impression.

Ive been bringing my family and friends here for years. This place is an absolute gem. The hostess is warm and friendly, the food is AWESOME, and Sake Bob is an amazing chef. Nothing has ever gone wrong with an order here - perfect every time. Great sushi and maki rolls, unique and delicious appetizers, and special offerings not found elsewhere. This is where we go for birthdays and anniversaries.

This was the most disappointing "sushi" I have ever encountered. I was skeptical but after so many great reviews I decided to give this place a try. I got 2 maki rolls and both had barely any fish in them at all, and what was there was definitely not fresh. They were also very small. Not at all sure what all these great reviews are about...

Small, comforting place that serves delicious and aesthetically pleasing sushi. The chef is so friendly and you can tell he tries his best to make sure every customers experience is top notch. It seems to be a family owned business that has a very relaxed feeling to it.

We have been going to this establishment for years. We absolutely love it - our whole family. Delicious sushi, mouth-watering appetizers, and super friendly, relaxed and casual environment. Try the baked lobster roll, and the dynamite appetizer - youll be hooked! :)

The only reason to go there is for the Korean BBQ or the drink specials if you drink. Unfortunately, the last time I went even the BBQ was over cooked and a little burnt. Ill not suggest going here for the sushi at all. My experience was very disappointing.

This is my first time here and there was only one couple in this place, so at first I had doubts about the place. But i always have to give a place a try and I honestly can complain, the food and service was great. Can wait to come back again.

Their happy hour is a great deal. The food used to be great but the rolls have gotten smaller and dont taste as good. All of their sushi tastes very similar but this seems to be common among sushi restaurants.

Dont let the humble view from the street deter you-- best suburban sushi by a mile, great cocktails, service always prompt and friendly! Also do a rolls happy hour Tuesday Thursday and Friday

This place never disappoints! Cheap but great-tasting sushi that so far no other place has beat!! (It also has a bar that I couldnt get a picture of because of other customers at the time.)

The sushi here is grade A. I recommend everything. Im guessing she is the owner or the owners wife; she can be a lil too chatty but otherwise this place tops my list for sushi.
