This place used to be one of my favorites. I always get a brisket salad. The brisket itself is still delicious. However the salad changed. The salad used to have cherry tomatoes and spring mix. Now the salad has oversized sliced carrots and sweet potato on a lettuce base. Number of dressings / sauces also changed. They used to have 5 sauces, now it is just 3. Looks like management is trying to save on ingredients.

Cant say enough about the great service here. The manager on duty, Ebony, was very kind when I came in for lunch and realized I had forgotten my wallet. I was so embarrassed, but she helped me out. And when I did at last sit down to enjoy my food, it was really great! Definitely recommend the Chicago style sauce on the pulled pork. Thanks a bunch to this whole crew!

The tradeff at Blackwood is price vs quality. You are guaranteed to pay a high price - usually north of $10 and up to $15. Thats spendy for lunch. But youre getting prime cut meats and great sauces. Go to splurge every once and a while!

The place use to be top notch ambut the last few visits the brisket has been dry. They have a good breakfast option that comes with eggs, brisket, and potatoes along with BBQ sauce. This place is hit or miss can be very good to decent.

I really enjoyed Blackwood. This was my first visit and probably my husbands fourth. The Mac and cheese and cornbread were delicious! Really enjoyed the chicken with Kansas City sauce, and the staff were really friendly.

Price is great, service is friendly, and the portions are decent. BBQ tastes pretty good, but not the best there is in Chicago. However, this is more than worth a stop for a lunch out of the office.

Went in for a Brisket platter but when I saw the Brisket Salad, it looked so good that I switched my Platter order to a Brisket Salad and OMG it was Awesome! Try it next time!
