AGE DISCRIMINATION! I walked into 545 in a Friday night with my boyfriend and 3 of my best girlfriends. We were deciding if we should stay because of the loud music and the number of people in the bar that were old enough to be our parents. They have a really nice patio far from the noise and really nice wine, so we decided to stay. When we approched the bar we were looked at and ignored. When we finally got the bartenders attention, he asked for our IDs. After he looked at them he told us "I believe these are FAKE IDs. (Im 24 years old) Im not going to take them from you, but I need you to leave or I will call the police." I told him that we also have our state IDs for backup. He then told us that if we didnt leave immediately he was going to call the police. I was astonished at his rudeness. Ive heard good things about this place but I guess Ill have to wait until Im 60 to expierence them.

My hubby Brad and I celebrated Valentines Day with dinner at 545 North last night. The food was amazing! The steak I had was so tender it was like butter. And flavorful like nothing Ive ever had before! Brad had the seafood and said was the delicious! Add to this, the staff was so gracious, prompt and helpful. Our waitress was quite personable, our water glasses were never empty and our dishes were cleared quickly. Talk about attentive! Then, our meal came out in such reasonable period of time that I wondered how the chef managed such a feat! If you have not been there, give 545 North Bar & Grill a try. And stop by on a night when the Hawks are playing ... it will be on TV in the bar - likely with a good cheering crowd showing their support!

Poor service is an understatement. I recently stopped by on a weekday around 2:30 for a late lunch and sat at the bar. There were three other customers in the restaurant and two waitresses. I waited 15 minutes with one of the waitresses standing nearby talking to a friend and the other waitress taking the check of the customer sitting next to me. She looked at me and didnt say anything, did not even offer a menu. NOT recommended. Try FIRKINS a block south.

The smallness is welcoming. This place is enjoyable for everything from dinner, just drinks or Mothers Day Brunch because of the gourmet food and quiet atmosphere. Not recommended: the old fashioned, ordering red meat beyond medium rare, sitting in the booths Recommended: starting with the soup, fish tacos as an entree, wedge salad!, dessert, making small talk with the staff

We arrived with our party of 6the for Appetizers, libations, and comradory. We found the waiter to be slow, food while good couldnt be coordinated to arrive for all 6 of our meals. Brought desert but then left us for 5the minutes till they returned with utensils. For a party of two I would recommend it, for a larger party might suggest another place :(

horrible service. bartender was too busy with his friends. he walked away from the bar to smoke with his friends while we waited to pay our bill. closed the dinner an hour and half earlier than stated on the website and the door. Workers were drinking while serving. Not attentive at all. worst bar experience of my life.

Best place to go for Happy Hour specials in Libertyville. Half price drinks between 4 and 6 during the weekdays. The food is also great. The crowd is definitely older though, which is neither good or bad in my opinion. The bar also tends to have live music most nights, which I have yet to experience.

i love it more every time i go. a martini selection to make everyone happy. the best butternut squash ive ever had, and the waiter even shared a modified recipe. small scale charm creates a trendy city bar feeling in the suburbs, where after a few visits they know who you are.

had lunch for my first meal here. favorably impressed in all respects. the room is quite stylish and modern. the service was prompt and friendly. food was excellent, especially considering it was from the abbreviated lunch menu. i will be back with my wife for dinner soon.

Regular bartender really poor service and flippant to boot! Owner makes his presence know and isnt subtle about it. Food is good...maybe the back room staff change w the front room staff. Many more places to go for welcoming atmosphere.

Service was ok, food was not good. Got the buffalo chicken wrap and it had obviously been sitting under the heat lamp. When I eat a wrap I want warm meat and crisp cool lettuce. I got hot soggy chicken and lettuce. Gross.
