Rude, obnoxious, verbally abusive waitress. The female hispanic waitress who waited on us was nasty and foul-mouthed. She verbally abused us and rudely kicked us out of the restaurant because we ordered a beer first and needed a moment to decide on our food order. She was extremely belligerent and threw a temper tantrum and ordered us to leave immediately. She treated us like she was swatting a fly away. We complained to the manager/owner, but he didnt seem to care about losing our business. What was baffling was the restaurant was not crowded at all (almost empty), so it wasnt like we were holding up any waiting customers. Before leaving, we decided to tip our nasty waitress a "well deserved penny" for her stellar customer service. Dont waste your time and money here, as there are much better Mexican restaurants in the area with much nicer staff. At this one, you will get tossed out worse than a pile of trash.

This is hysterical: look at the less the stellar reviews, a guy named Jose comes to a Mexican Restaurant and orders French fries and complains lol 1 star. A couple of the three star are because that dont get free chips and salsa lol really. Bad review for a long wait: obviously short staff and possible confusion over who was taking the table. About this time also the main players had a baby and unexpected thing happen in that scenario. Speak up, staff here is friendly. Ive been going to the various Tacos El Norte for maybe 3 decades - they are not all the same but theyre all good and the Algonquin location is my favorite and sometimes I will drive all the way up from my job in Elgin (home to a zillion Mexican restaurants) for a Chicken burrito smothered in fabulous mole sauce.

I have gone to taco el Norte quite a few times.i usually go and order at the counter and order a Steak Burrito. The women taking the order always has the worst attitude, is not friendly at all, never says thankyou or come again. Seems to be a mean rooted person. They do not use good quality Steak in there burritos nor steak tacos. I usually have to discard most of the meat because they left so much fat or Geisel to the meat.

We waited, and waited, and waited. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks, 15 additional minutes to get our appetizer and after over an hour of waiting, we walked out and paid for just our appetizer. The overworked and understaffed kitchen was unapologetic and indifferent about their lack of "service". I was very disappointed considering the number of positive reviews.

I went here 2x already. They have good tacos but both time Ive been there they got my order wrong. I ordered take out. I ordered fish taco both visits and both time they gave me some meat tacos. I didnt check the order before leaving (I know u should have) due to me being on my lunch break and I have no time to go back.

My wife and I went to this restaurant for a lunch. The food was awesome! price is great and the service was excellent. We will go back for different food since everything was great. the place is kind of hard to find though but once you taste their food you will not forget!

Food is great. Service is a bit lacking seems to be short staffed. Went to pay at the register and the cashier couldnt put her cell phone down or stop conversing with the person on the other end. But the food is inexpensive and tasty..
