Brought my family for my birthday on an evening where the weather was supposed to be very snowy. When we arrived the parking lot was empty so we figured the service would be good. We ordered oysters to start and it took 15 minutes for them to get to the table, which the waitress apologized for. Then the wait for our dinner took another 1/2 hour for items that should only take minutes. We had ordered steak and lobsters, my daughter had a deep fried shrimp plate and a hamburger for my son, who doesnt like seafood. When our food arrived, our waitress asked if we needed anything else and left our table. At that point we found my wifes $45 lobster was no bigger than my special of the night smaller tail, both tails were tough and chewy, and all of our food was just above room temperature, including all the sides. We began eating till we finally saw our waitress and told her, but now we were all at least half done. We werent about to send it all back just to wait even longer. The manager spoke with us and gave my children dessert to make up for the problems. The following day I saw that we were over charged on top of everything else. When I mentioned the experience to several co workers they ALL told me they also had bad experiences there and would not go there ever again. I feel the same. It is a real shame to see a place with decades of high praise slip to this level so consistently. The bill was over $250 with only 4 bar drinks and we are so unhappy I doubt we will ever go there again.

Port Edwards was always a favorite. We use to come here once a month in the 80s through 90s now its once a year (maybe) just hoping they would go back to the way they use to be. It use to be high end & pricey but still an affordable night out and was always crowed with reservations needed. They use to bring a sample of clams & muscles in butter sauce, cheese spread, crackers & bread.. but not anymore. Now (especially dinner menu) has a hefty price tag with much smaller portions. You can walk in and sit just about anywhere because of all the empty tables. Many folks Ive talked to believe P.E. lost the volumn of patrions to greed. The food is still good but anything you order is costly. I wont be surprised if they will soon charge you to rent the dinnerware. What you want to order, you feel bad because of the price and you end up settling for something less expensive so by the time you leave, you feel like you went to buy the Cadillac but left with a little Volkswagon. Two people is an easy $150 and you leave there feeling you missed something. I think is P.E. goes back to treating the people like guest, instead of customers, then they may lure us back for more frequent visits and build up the reputation they once had.

We went for dinner and I ordered a poached lobster dish while my husband had a seafood sampler. The salad was completely tasteless, not rich at all, and came with a seasoning that was definitely store bought and not made on the premises. The bread with crab spread that came with it was chewy while the spread tasted store bought and way too sweet. The worst was the lobster dish. It was supposed to be covered by a breadcrumb crust. Half of it was black as if it was burnt. I told the waitress and she had the courage to say that it wasnt burnt, its just how the butter came. Needless to say it was definitely burnt. The lobster itself was swimming in a sea of butter, there were literally pools of butter with lobster in it. When I pointed that out to the waitress she said "thats how it is". Well, in that case I dont want it. My husband dish had a piece of salmon, that was good, a piece of halibut, that was too dry, and a piece of mahi tuna that didnt taste fresh and it was encrusted in a soggy and thick breadcrumb crust. Everything was way overpriced and we are definitely NOT going back there. I cant understand what people see in this place. DISGUSTING.

My husband and I went for New Years Eve dinner. We had an early reservation(6:00pm) and the restaurant was half empty. We had only been there once before(for the Mothers Day Brunch) so we thought wed try the regular menu. BIG MISTAKE!!! It took over 45 minutes for our food to come(Did our waitress forget about it?) and when it finally did it was barely even room temperature. We had both ordered expensive fish entrees and having them come out cold was unacceptable. We called our waitress over and told her and she took our plates back to the kitchen. We assumed that they would remake both our entrees. But oh no, they stuck them under a steamer to rewarm them!!! Seriously, at a more pricey fish restaurant they are going to to try to serve us re-warmed fish?!?!?!? We were DONE at that point and asked the manager to come over. She agreed it was UNACCEPTABLE and would "talk to the kitchen". She offered to have our food re-made but were so disappointed at that point. We left at that point without eating and were thankfully able to find a table at another restaurant.

The last time I went to Sunday Brunch at Port Edwards was December of 2016. At that time, you could tell that the servers were unhappy with the new general manager and the quality in food had declined. However, I was just at Sunday Brunch today and everything has changed. The attitude in the place has changed. The food quality is back up. The servers are happier. Port Edwards recently got a new employee, Zia (I do not know how to spell his name.) I think he is a new floor manager. He is really working to get the servers and chefs to work as a team. Zia was out on the floor today helping out everyone. He was working in the kitchen, helping the chefs on the buffet floor, and he was helping the hostess. My family sat upstairs with Cynthia as our waitress and Zia made sure that people were being seated in her section, because people tend to not want to sit upstairs during Brunch (because of the stairs.) I dont go to brunch just for the food. I go because of Cynthia and Sandy. They are amazing waitresses. I am happy to see that they are happy again!

Ive been going to the brunch at Port Edwards for 15+ years. Recently, they had a change in management. Before, I knew that I could choose any Sunday and Cynthia and Sandy would be there. These two waitresses are amazing! They do a great job at making sure that everything is okay. The recent change in management has really changed things. They recently made it so that Cynthia and Sandy would be working brunch every other Sunday. I dont just go to brunch for the food, I go because I love talking to Cynthia and Sandy. My family does not go to brunch if they are not there. With this new rule, we have to call ahead and ask if Cynthia and Sandy will be there. If they are not going to be there, then we dont go to brunch. I have also noticed a decline in the food recently. Creme brûlée is not made with banana pudding. The past couple of times that I have been there, it has been made with the banana pudding. Its disgusting. I love Port Edwards, but I have to give it three stars due to management issues. Hopefully theyll work it out soon.
