Great place for a burger - my girlfriend ordered one and I tried it. I tried very hard to like the place, honestly!! I had a ton of issues during my visit. The first was that the section I was sitting in was very dirty. There was food particles and what looked like cigarette ashes all over the window sill next to me. The Mens room smelled very heavily of urine and hadnt been cleaned in some time. The menu was very big and unorganized. They had two pages of specials within the other 100 dishes they serve. The price on their side salad by itself is high and they serve it with iceberg. They charge $4.95 just for a side salad. My sandwich had more issues. I ordered a sandwich that is made with french toast. It came to me with jelly wiped off of it, as if it had been served to someone and brought back to the kitchen! It was very gross and the ham was burnt. My fries came to me half raw and were like dull shoe strings. I really enjoyed the interior of the place though. There is an old stained wood covering the whole room that is very charming. The place needs a good cleaning and some small updates. I wont be back. Long story short, go if your desperately hungry, but dont believe these reviews. There is no way these are real.

Damaress is in the running for the top 10 worst waitresses in Illinois! Ordered the dinner special, soup and coffee! Set down my soup, then got my coffee and before I started my soup she delivers the dinner special. Before I am half done with the soup I have my check. Now when I push my soup aside to start my actual meal, here she is needing to "Cash me Out" because her shift is over. 9 minutes from sitting down to paid. She must think this is McDonald!!! If you can't give proper service then send someone else over! 8:08 is when I walked in and 8:19 is when my credit card receipt was printed. I know the time because I had just text my sister. Needless to say she did NOT get a tip!

Great food, at times. Its either hit or miss, here. I eat here all the time, and the one thing they lack is consistency in the quality of food and service. I have recieved dry ribs, cold food, bland unbattered french toast that tasted like egg(in which they didnt charge me for the whole meal), chopped chicken in my year round pasta. I love going here because its conveniently close to my home, and 24 hours. Just try not to go as much as i use to. And, its crazy because the owner is almost always in house and almost never actually interacts with the customer to find out how service or the food was. But, hey. OMEGA in Des Plaines is too far to drive on a whim. But, thats my backup.

This is the epitome of the independently owned type of restaurant that I always wanted to own. Food was hot, tasty and unique. Service was impeccable. One of the best parts is that it was close to Great Lakes Naval Academy so got to see several new sailors in their dress whites with their proud parents. They sported their new uniforms and fervently peered to see if any of us noticed. ..well, we did and Im proud if them. This is the type of Americana style restaurant that is disappearing. Well done Full Moon. PS...we were trucking and it welcomed us with free and spacious parking, too

Full Moon is one of my old time favorites. I havent been out this way in some time. My Pops used to live in the area and I would visit here routinely. Back in the 90s I actually serviced some of their Casablanca fans, which I now see are long gone. Good to see Spyro, the owner, is still here. My favorite waitress Helen is still on the floor too. This is true home cooking and everything is made from scratch. Awesome soup too. Open 24/7 every day of the year and if memory serves, they always offer a free meal on Thanksgiving too.

Friendly and homey, Im writing this as Im sitting here. In a quaint setting, situated right next to the road, I was greeted immediately upon walking in. The servers were busy today, but still took the time to serve you as soon as you walked in. Each of them seemed happy, which only added to the great atmosphere. The prices are a bargain, and they were kind enough to give a sample of the daily soup without me asking for it. 5 stars might not be enough. Ill be back :)

Love this place. Quintessential American truck stop diner open 24 hours off US 41. Interesting mix of patrons: truckers, business people, farmers, bikers and military from the nearby Navy base. Huge selection of breakfast choices--they do lunch and dinner, but Im only ever here for breakfast. Inexpensive. The waitresses--lifers all, who call you "Hun"--will likely refill your coffee cup before you notice youve run low.

Nice place, nice selection, very good food. They specialize in serving bikers and military -- so busy and not upscale but very friendly. A little plain for the decor, very "diner" style. I like it -- great value. About $9/person for breakfast w/coffee. Service is amazing considering how busy they usually are. If you are looking for guaranteed good food without a wait, this is a good place for it.

Service was prompt, food was quick. My meal and a bowl of soup cost $8 and was good. Perfect diner décor for what you would see in the movies of a family diner. One thing that shocked me is the register actually has a sign that says, "Active Military, dont forget to get your discount" Most places either dont give a discount or you have to ask to find out, they advertise it right as you are paying.

My wife and I had the potato skins, stuffed pepper soup, a gyro, and an open face roast beef sandwich. Our server then surprised us with a free piece of cheesecake. The skins were good, although my mashed potatoes and gravy were a little cold. The soup was great, and my wife says this is the best gyro she has ever had. Cheesecake was also amazing. Would definitely come again and recommend to others.

Nice for nb trucks on us-41. They got a few parking spots for big trucks. Good, fast and friendly wait staff. The cook food an amazing job on my German breakfast. 2 gigantic latkas and 3 eggs with 2 stops bacon and toasted rye. 10/10 would do again. Oh and dont sleep here and block others from even getting in here.Cmon guys.

Love the homemade clam chowder and chicken and rice soup BUT the older Caucasian woman is very rude and NOT SO CLEAN.. SHE WIPED THE SOUP WITH HER FINGERS THEN LICKED THEM, CLEANED THE CONTAINER WITH A TOWEL SHE FOUND AND TRY TO HAND IT TO ME. NO MAAM.. I DONT WANT IT. NEVER HAD AN ISSUE AS SUCH WITH OTHER EMPLOYEES..

Terrific diner, good staff, yummy food. I created a vegan option with hashed browns and griddle fried veges and they nailed it. Delicious. Dont necessarily recommend Fathers Day during a motorcycle rally but despite the crowd the staff hustled and took care of all of us. Great American diner food at resonable prices.
