The name says it all. Although this no frills eatery has all the popular Mexican favorites, however, the star is birria (goat stew) served in many different ways. In addition to serving as an ingredient in the usual tacos, enchiladas etc., the goat stew served as dinner is specially remarkable. It is slow cooked to a tender perfection. Tortillas are made right in the kitchen and the difference is evident. Portions are huge. Very popular with those in the know, the restaurant does a brisk takeout business as well. Dont go there for the ambiance, for there is none. Walls have handwritten signs for what is new on the menu and the old prices are corrected with sticky labels over them. Tables and chairs may be mismatched and the hanging displays are crooked. TV blares music videos in Spanish. Go there for the food and you will not be disappointed.
