I just picked up carry out from this restaurant for a nice Indian dinner. I was surprised when they told me it would take 45 minutes (one dish) to make. I took it for granted and showed up to the restaurant 45 minutes later. After waiting five minutes to get a servers attention (there is no host) he told me to wait at the front table. It was not ready yet. I patiently waited fifteen minutes, then decided to get the attention of a another server to see what progress had been made. This server found that my food WAS ready. She brought it for me, I paid, and when I got home, $20 later, I opened my platter to find eight kabob pieces of meat in a container on a little shredded cabbage. We thought they must have forgotten something. We called the restaurant, and no, that was it. Not only was there almost no food in the dish, it was cold and over cooked. The adjective "disappointing" doesnt even begin to cover my description of this restaurant. They will probably meet the same fate every other restaurant at this location has experienced - CLOSED.

Service was good, the owner is always very friendly. Food is the problem though. It seems to be fresh, but is lacking Indian spices/aromas and definitely OVERpriced. Mulligatawny Soup had an odd smell, 2x Samosas for $7 were OK. Tikka Masala was bland with too much salt in it, $17.50 Lamb Vindaloo - over-salted, sauce most likely pre-boxed, lamb and red onions were tossed into the dish just before serving and had no taste. Expected a party of Indian flavors in my mouth - left with the broken heart :( This was the 2nd visit over a few years just to give them a 2nd chance - food has not changed, not coming back. Feedback: Bland. Sincerely yours, Yum or bland

Went here with my fiance Sandy. It was our 1st experience with Indian cusine. We had Chicken/Paneer Lemon Tadka-appetizer,Mulligatawany Soup,Organic Mix Green Salad, Makhani/Tikka Masala Sauce,Tandoori Sockeye Salmon, Garlic Nan Bread and pistachio ice cream with whipped cream that at first glance looks like sliced banana but was awesome to the palate. The service was top notch and the staff knew the menu items like they knew the back of their hand. The food was not pricey if you want excellent choices like we had . If 10 meant the best I rate this establishment a 12. This is one restaurant I am willing to be a monthly member of.

I love this place. Everyone who has been here loves this place. The food is awesome! Try the lemon chicken tadka appetizer. Order two. Their naan is amazing, curry is fabulous. You can tell them how much spice you like and they will customize your meal. The staff is incredibly friendly and the owners are very nice. The ambiance is lovely. Perfect for a date but really can adapt to any gathering. I do not think the food is overpriced for what you get. However, the drinks are very pricey. I wont even let that hinder my review because I love this restruant.

The ambiance and decor outstanding. Had the chicken curry which was very good. I also had a mango martini which was superb. The only issue I had was after telling my server I planned to order a drink, she didnt come back as she said she would. Fortunately, one of her team members saw me looking at the drink menu and asked if I needed something. I drink a lot of water and the staff made sure my glass didnt come close to empty. Also impressive was being asked by the bus boy if my experience was a good one. I will definitely be back.

Great food and friendly staff, but the past year, takeout dishes have been inconsistent. After years of it the same, the tikka masala once came loaded with peppers and onions in the sauce, changing the taste. The next time it was back to normal but did not come with white rice like it always did. For the price, you should be able to count on what you will receive! They have also repeatedly had issues with online orders, such as the ticket never printing, and it is not ready when you come 45 minutes later.

Seriously one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to. Whoever said this was a below average restaurant in the comments below must have been out of their mind. I dined with an Indian friend who was very impressed by everything we had. She said that there are not many Indian restaurants out there that does spicy food so well and keep the flavors authentic. The lamb tacos are a MUST HAVE. I have never eaten anything like it before! So good! Please keep up the amazing food you have there.

Awesome fusion Indian food! One the best garlic naans. The achari dishes are superb, actually there isnt anything that i dont like from their menu. This is hands down the best Indian place in the burbs and prob the city. Im indian and i love indian food and so far Kama Bistro stands tall above everything i have tried. I love talking to the owners of this place, they are both super friendly and Vikrams wife very good with providing suggestion on what perfect wine to get with the meal.

The atmosphere here is a great mix of elegance and comfort that makes it very approachable but also the kind of place to which you can entertain friends/family/etc. I look forward to the opportunity to go back and to also show others this great spot. As for the food, I will simply insert a comment from a friend of mine who has traveled to India several times and eaten extensively there because of an international job: "They have the best Indian food Ive eaten in the States."

I love this restaurant!!!! Its in a beautiful setting in downtown La Grange with side walk seating. The menu is filled with flavorful options. The curry is outstanding, the vindaloo also outstanding. Great spicy lamb tacos as well as yellow and black bean Dahl with garlic naan- delish! The staff is wonderful and very knowledgeable and the kitchen will adjust the heat (spice) level to your liking. Excellent home-made basil tea and beautiful indoor decor. Highly recommend!!!!

I basically love everything about Kama. The food is outstanding, the atmosphere is just right -- not too swanky, not too casual -- and the owners and staff are great. Ive never had a bad experience. Im not an Indian food expert, but I have eaten a lot of it, and this is probably the best. Get anything with lamb, unless youre vegetarian, in which case you cant go wrong with daal makhani. Or anything else on the menu, really. My only regret is that I dont live closer... :)

We were very excited to try this Indian restaurant but it didnt live up to our expectations. Weve had in the past excellent Indian food, this was not the case. To start the naan was like a medium thickness small pizza, made with a lot of flour. It was like the Italian version of naan, not good. Main courses were just spicy not flavorful, a pity. The chicken in both our dishes was dry. We will not return to this restaurant and were sad since it is so close to our house!

Me and my wife went to Kama Bistro for Lunch on Sept 16. We ordered Malai Kofta, Makhani paneer, Garlic Nan and Roti. I must say it was a disappointment. Gravy for Makhani was sour as if we were eating raw tomatoe gravy and the Nans were raw I could taste the dough. We also ordered Mango lassi and it was sweet and sour as if the yogurt was old. They really need to improve their quality during lunch. It was not a disappointment last year when we came here for dinner.
