Fair. We set out to have lunch at La Dolce Vita but it was closed. Francescas was also closed for lunch. Then we went to Smokey Barque. It was chilly in the restaurant. It smelled good and added to my anticipation of a great meal. One table setting was dirty and when I got my cola I noticed that the glass had not one but three lipstick stains on the glass. This usually makes me disgusted but I was hoping to keep a positive attitude for this special Christmas luncheon with the "girls". I got the pulled barbecue chicken with fries and hush puppies. The hush puppies were over cooked and dry. The fries were fair, too dry and flavorless even with the dusting of bbq rub. The chicken was dry and tasted like ä day old platter. The cornbread was good and tasty but crumbled too easily. I had left overs but did not take home a left over bag as I thought the food would not have survived another warming up... and end up even drier. Even with the variety of sauces, which were too sweet or too acidic with vinegar, I knew the additional sauce could not liven up the already dry chicken. Maybe I should have opted for the fried chicken platter. If there is a next time... Ill try that.

The owner needs to pay more attention to what he is selling. Quality of the food was not what one would expect. They need more business as the ribs and brisket were not even hot and they were dried out. Rib flavor was good, brisket had little or no taste. Arbys actually has better tasting brisket. Thats sad. I am a rib and brisket lover and it would be great to have a good place near by to get BBQ. Baby Back Blues on West side of Joliet blows this place away. I think the owners of restaurants should visit the competition just to see how their product holds up. As this is 5th or 6th restaurant in this same building I have visited I have to say all at similar problems, even thought they had a great location and business lack of high food quality killed them all, this one will fail too if it does not have a major change. Owners should get their opinions on food quality from real people who enjoy eating good food and not those who have been raised on McDonalds, especially those who think McDonalds is quality good food.

Food was way below average !!!! Restuarant Was very dirty !!!! Owner was a lyer and did not reserve the table we asked for and prepaid for months in advance !!!! The guest (her friends ) did not even need both tables !!!! Took 30 min to get a table outside even though there was 8 open !!!! Prior to reserving the table I specifically said I wanted to pick a table or wasnt interested in booking !!!! Was promised the table !!! Nope !!!!! Was put in the back of this dingy room behind two tables to wich one was suppose to be mine lol !!! I will not be back to this spot and I highly recommend to everyone do not waste your money here and the owner integrity is the worst !!!!!

My bridal shower was held here and I cannot say enough good things about Smokey Barque and their staff! Maryann (the event coordinator) was very easy to work with, and responded to e-mails quickly and efficiently. She did a great job considering the large amount of people (90) that attended my bridal shower. The food we chose was served hot and was delicious. The servers were very attentive and were a pleasure to work with. My guests and myself had a wonderful time. I definitely recommend hosting an event here!

Very bad service, arrived waited at the hostess desk for 3min, then a waitress walks by and says a hostess will be with us shortly. 5min later a hostess comes and seats us. After seated we waited at our seats for 15min while 2 different waitresses and hostess continue to walk by without saying anything. When we then get up to leave the hostess sees us leaving and doesnt say anything. The worst service Ive had at a restaurant in a while.

I agree with jond shep. Brisket was terrible in my opinion, tasted like 3 day leftovers, owner came out and was not happy with my assessment. She tried to remake a brisket sandwich saying that I must have had a tough piece of beef. I tried to explain again it was not a tough piece of brisket ,but the it tasted like 3 day leftovers. She said that chef would not do that. I respectfully disagree and stand by my statement to her.

Just got back from this restaurant, first time there and it was horrible. Waited over an hour for sandwiches and a salad. Waiter never checked if we needed anything while we were kept waiting, and the restaurant was not even busy. I had the pulled pork, it was dry and tasteless. Dont waste your time. Poor food, poor service and not even an apology. I will never go to this place again. Horrible.

Pretty good food. Sweet potato tots were very sweet, but good. Pulled pork was tasty, and definitely a different type of flavor than most pulled pork, seemed to have a heavier chili flavor than others. Decent beer selection. Server/bartender was awesome, and she was very nice even on Christmas eve. Seems like a cool low key place to hang out in downtown Frankfort.

Not overly impressed with their food. Had the sampler platter; chicken and ribs were dry. Pork and sausage were excellent. We did not care much for the BBQ sauces, which are their own. Nice atmosphere, very roomy and they have large rooms for parties if youre looking for space. They also offer outdoor seating for the nicer days.

Smokey BBQ wings - best Ive ever had. The smokey 2 with ribs and 2 other meats was phenomenal with a hearty portion of everything! I dont like how they charge and additional $2 for some of the meats. If the price is 22.99 for 3 meats, that should be it, not nickle and diming people like a Low Cost Carrier airline.

Warm beer, bland food.. Our appetizer came out and we had to wait with it on the table for 10 minutes to get plates and silverware. I decided to give it a try after being disappointed 2 years ago. I shouldnt have. At least the server was friendly and comped a warm beer with another warm beer. Hence the 2 stars.

You want authentic barbeque far far from the south? Youll find it here. The service is remarkable, the food is outstanding, and the beer available is constantly rotating. Expect a short wait, which is well worth it. This place has been a staple since it opened.

if i could gove zero star i would owner is ignorant as can be food is way over prices and staff is way below average if it last another year in frankfort i would be shocked all i can say is this isnt the place such a waste of a nice building.

The barbecue is always the best. This is a very unique menu Ive tried probably 20 different things everything was good. One of the best bar rooms in Chicago. The bar and some of the pieces in the bar are over a hundred years old.

Worst service ever. Sat at the bar when there was 4 people an didnt even get a I will be right with you. An the food is bad. I say just sell this spot to a better restaurant. The owners dont care about their business.
