If you want good southern bbq Speed Queen is the place to go. There is a wide range of people that go to eat here. At times the neighborhood its located in has not been so great, but that has never slowed down business. Speed Queen is packed with people all of the time. There is a dining room, but it is not that nice and is more of a waiting room. YOu can order your food at the inside counter or in the car. I usually go inside because although there is a drive through it is by no means speedy. The menu includes delicious pork ribs, tips, and shoulder, as well as fried chicken and fish. The barbecue ribs are slow-cooked and glazed with Speed Queens famous mild or hot barbecue sauce. At this place I would pick up some bbq and sides and bring it home for dinner. You will be happy you made the trip

Dont bother going anywhere else if you are even near Milwaukee and want good ribs. I dont know how to put into words the experience of the first bite. There is some serious love in their barbecue. You cannot fake the smokiness that permeates the meat there. I have had a lot of barbecue in my time, and my experiences usually range from o.k. to good. Thats because they are usually boiled, then oven-baked. But the ribs and the shoulders here are cooked over a real wood fire, which makes all the difference in the world. The barbecue is second to none. You order behind bullet-proof glass, and the decor is nil, but I have had no problems there, even striking up a friendly conversation with one of the patrons.

I love BBQ and I really wanted this to be good. For lunch I ordered the Ribs and Tips dinner with Red Beans and Rice. The ribs were tough, fatty and chewy . The Tips were no more than cartilage and fat with a pinch of dry meat on it. The corn bread was also very dry. My friend ordered the BBQ Chicken and was having a hard time with the half dozen feathers that were still on the skin but said it tasted ok. The sauce is good although way too much is put on to maybe carry some of the other issues going here. One bright spot is the beans and rice were awesome. It sounds like this place was great back in the day. Too bad.

Speed Queen BBQ is not worth the money back when I was a kid they gave you more for your money the only thing good about Speed Queen is a convenience that get you in and out the food is not worth the money people giving good reviews really dont know what good BBQ eels go to Brew City downtown thats where you find real BBQ in most likely those good reviews got to be coming from employees for anybody to call at the best barbecue in Milwaukee you really aint had a good BBQ Speed Queen sucks

Food is very good. Ive compared this to other places offering and specializing in barbecue and this is REAL barbeque! No cooking in an oven and adding smoke or any other flavor. Meat is savory and tender. The texture of the sauce is perfect! Not too runny/watered down and tasteless or so thick and sweet you have to take most of the sauce off with your napkins. Then the side items are simply delicious, just like homemade from the kitchen of a really good cook!

I paid $9.55 for a skimpy ass plate of food I am very disappointed, and my corn bread was hard and uneatable and the plate was very light, Literally like they were stretching out the food or something, from here on out I promise If I want BBQ I will be going to Tonys on 35th and Villard, Im very disgusted with Speed Queen what happens to you all, I would like st lease half my money back since I did eat the food for half of what I got! Thank you!

Absolutely THE BEST barbequed beef and pork I have ever had, with great sauces! Try the Outside shoulder if you like the crispy,blackened outsides and the reg shoulder if you want the tender good stuff. The dinners are piled with meat and the mixed greens are my favorite side. Will be a customer forever. The drive-thru is very efficient and highly recommendable!

I havent experienced the most excruciating pain in my life!!!! I ordered a shoulder dinner and I belive I have gotten food poisoning!! I ate it around 2:00p.m. and it is 10:00p.m. and my stomach is cramping up, Im throwing up and I keep running off! Yall need to do better!!!! I wish I kept my recite because I would of went to the doctor on yall!!!!

The customer service was horrible. The drive-thru line takes forever, the order takers are very rude comma and even the kitchen staff kid in on the ACT. To be completely balanced, the barbecue is good. However, you really have to decide if you want to put up with extreme rudeness when spending your money in order to get good barbecue.

I use to like going here for bbq, which I still will go. I do not like the fact that they give you small portions on this day and on some days you go they give you more from the last time youve went.....some days I go food is dried up with bbq sauce on it, clearly its old bbq. I need to find another bbq place to eat at!

The lady thats working the drive thru on the date of 5/5/17.. really needs a attitude adjustment! This is the second time I got attitude from her.. If she doesnt like her job then she should quit or HIRE someone with better customer service. I never had anything bad to say about this establishment until today.

Horrible they. Only accept cash then I ordered the half and half dinner with tips and shoulder..what a rip off they put 6 pieces of bread on my plate two on top four at the bottom of the ribs and should to make it look like the plate was full and it really wasnt..not worth the money... Go to Tonys way better
