This place has been open for a long time and once was Very good. But now, its a hit or miss with food and service. The last time my son and I went we sat for about 15 minutes waiting for someone to come take our orde. It was a Full staff and Not crowded. It was 9 customers and 4 of them had already been waited on and eating their food. We watched a waitress take 2 other table orders but, never came to our table. After 15 minutes of waiting, I got up and walked to the back of the restaurant to the ladies room. As I was walking I observed 3 waitresses talking and laughing behind the counter, 4 guys in the kitchen area (through the service window), 1 waitress filling salt/pepper jars, and 2 waitresses sitting at the counter speaking Spanish..... No one Ever saild anything to me. When I came from the ladies room back to the table.... my son stated no one had came to the table. Angry as heck I said in a voice every one could hear but Not to a yelling point but, clearly for all to hear, "This place really gone down. Weve been sitting here over 20 minutes now and No One has taken our order. This is the second and Last time I have put up with lousy service here." Not a single service person apologized to us. We left and Never went back. I believe that the Original owners have sold to whomever is operating it now and banking on the previous owners reputation.... smh

The best burgers, fries and shakes that Ive ever tasted. Ive been all over the country in search of the one spot who can compare or top them but none come close. I promise you, if you want to have a party in your mouth then you MUST go here, believe me when I say that nothing comes close. You can go to the most expensive spot with the most awarded cheffs, and I would bet anything that they too would fall short. Ive been going here for all of my life and I can remember when they had three locations, one in Oak Lawn and the other in Tinley Park. The Tinley location has been closed for at least 12 years and the Oak Lawn (my personal favorite) location has been closed for about 9 years. But the original remains and the food has remained the same. The prices are incredible and the portions are generous to say the least. Take your entire family here, it will become an instant tradition.

Im on a very limited budget, so the few times I go out for food, instead of making it at home, have to be pretty special. Top Notch never disappoints. Their burgers are the best in town, and their milkshakes are delicious. I particularly like the beef and the turkey patty melts, but everyone Ive introduced to Top Notch says that their orders were excellent, too. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and they never try to rush you or make you feel like you should hurry up. Decor may not be fancy, but the restrooms are clean. The food is what counts, and its great.

yes, beef is good. also yes, top notch beef is AMAZING. me and my large family always enjoy a trip to this delicious place to gorge on greasy (yum!) hamburgers and french fries. this place is DEFINITELY better than burger king. beef is probably my all time favorite thing to eat and i always make sure its from a great cow. i like to get to know the cows before i enjoy their taste. yum... my mouth is watering thinking about this. k, bye.

A retired policeman friend of mine first brought me here a few years ago. Since then, Ive returned with my family many times, and it is my grandsons favorite place to eat on the South Side. The decor looks about 40 years old, with lots of pictures on the walls. Service is always good. Prices are reasonable but not the cheapest. Some of the burgers are too big to eat in one sitting. The shakes are a must.

I grew up going here, been going for the last 20! They have the best shakes and malts; vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, or banana. I have never had anything besides the burgers, patty melts and fries. The meat always tastes fresh, and the burgers are always juicy, never once have I gotten a dried out patty. Family friendly and constantly delicious. Parking can sometimes be a pain, but its worth it.

Meilleur burger mangé à Chicago ! Tout était bon et servi généreusement avec le burger. Les onion rings étaient parfaits et le milkshake à la fraise excellent. Le décor est bien 60s / 70s

Waitress was very rude when my sister and I came for lunch. There was no other place to sit comfortable. We were told we could not sit at the back tables. She told us the other option was to wait for a table come available or sit at the counter. We did not want to sit at the counter. So she refused to serve us. We spoke to a manager who sided with the waitress. So we left and went to Long Horn.

Best burgers in all of Chicago if you ask me! Going any where else just isnt the same as Top Notchs beefburgers! Their patty melts are freaking amazing as well and I love their fries. Oooh, and their onion rings are delicious! On top of that their shakes are the best, especially the Oreo shake! The price you pay to each here is worth it and it wont burn a hole in your pocket!

I heard great things about this place, so I stopped in on a Saturday evening. The fries were really good, and so was the Oreo thick shake. But I cheated myself on enjoying the beefburger because I had so much crap on it (cheese, pickles, mayo, etc.). Next time Ill just get it plain so I can really enjoy the meat. Highly recommend this place.

Ive come here before in the past and I came back today to try a turkey burger. I must say that I was not disappointed at all. The burger was so good ❤ I always get what I ask for in an excellent condition here. I always recommend this burger shake to friends and family because, hey, they never disappoint

Terrible food, u seat urself and it takes forever for a waitress to notice u and serve u but let a fu$&!ng cop walk in and theyre kissing their asses to serve them. The staff is racist. Small space, parking sucks, this one shouldve been shut down instead of the one on 95th Cicero

A south side tradition for over 50 years. Fresh ground, handmade burgers. Fresh cut fries. Delicious and unpretentious milkshakes. Staffed by long-time wait staff with great knowledge of the menu, this stop is a must-visit for anyone in the Beverly neighborhood.

Burgers were a little under seasoned but still had a great experience for my first time. Our waitress was so nice and accomendating and the chili was soooooooo amazing. the portions are larger than expected! All the food was fresh and out within minutes.

Good burger. A little pricey, but very large and they give a lot of fries. The shake was good to, but they did not give me any extra in the silver cup like other places do. The onion rings were slightly over-cooked, but still good.
