We have heard some great things about this place and have been very excited to go try it out! So what did we do? Gather up 20 of our friends to go check it out! Sure it’s a small place, but there’s plenty of room for us to share with everyone! We decided to head into the city early to make sure that we could all get there before the dinner rush. I had the House Blend Beef with the Chicago Steakhouse seasoning on a Pretzel bun with Goat Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Grilled Onions and Mushrooms. I must honestly say that this burger has to be in my top 5 burgers I’ve ever had! They say that the House Blend Beef with the Chicago Steakhouse seasoning is their most popular and I can see why! The flavor of the meat and the seasoning blend were amazing together! The boy had the House Blend Beef Simple (sea salt and cracked black pepper) on a Pretzel bun with Cheddar Cheese, Smoked Bacon and Grilled Onions. The Smoked Bacon was great! If you’re a bacon lover, you have to try this! The smell alone will have your jowls watering in anticipation of the smoky flavor! With everyone that was there we had many different burgers and salads sampled and absolutely loved! I couldn’t begin to list them all, so I’ll let them tell their own tails! The staff was quick and friendly! Especially Erin… She was an absolute delight to work with! She was able to manage everyone in our crazed party, assist the other guests that were in and out while we were there, and keep the rest of the staff on their game without skipping a beat! She made our visit even better! Though I had leftovers and I was stuffed to the gills Erin had made a Peanut Butter and Banana Custard a few days ago… Now, if you know me, you’ll know I don’t like chocolate… My favorite “dessert” is peanut butter and bananas… I was more than please to have dessert no matter how full I was once I heard she had this amazing treat on hand! OMG I was not disappointed! If you’ve been thinking about checking this place out, stop thinking about it and just go there already! You will not be disappointed!!

Butcher & The Burger serves up a delicious and substantial burger, but the price can get out of control quite quickly. They have a chalkboard menu that immediately catches your eye when you walk in, with basic burgers starting at around $9 and the option to build your own that also starts at that level, but can quickly reach around $15 with premium add-ons, such as bacon and avocado, or the essential truffle mayo. My fiance and I placed our orders and grabbed a table on the small outdoor patio while our burgers were being prepared. The burgers came out in about 10-15 minutes, and they were absolutely fantastic. They were cooked as we requested (medium) and all the toppings really came together. The pretzel bun was soft and delicious (but really, how can you go wrong with that?!) and really brought the burger together. The side of fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned. The staff was friendly and prompt, as was the management and the cooks. The only reason to dock off a star is that we nearly spent $40 on the meal for the two of us, which seems steep for burgers and fries with no drinks.

Ive been to Butcher & the Burger 5-8 times over the past year, and I have NEVER had a bad burger. The Burgers: Amazing. You have options for your meat, your meat rub, your burger, your toppings, ad infinitum. Ive have the more normal combinations that look like a cheeseburger, and Ive had the more creative combinations, like a turkey burger with the curry rub and avocado. Its all incredible. The fries are great, the beignets are superb, and all the ingredients are clearly top notch. Service: Amazing. Everyone there clearly loves what they do, and they can help you pick the right combination of ingredients if youre stuck. Vibe: This place has all the potential to be douchey, and its not. Instead its very laidback, great music all the time, and comfortable. Only downside is that its small, so seating can be tricky.

Juicy and flavorful burgers in the former home of a western shop! Went for girls night out last night and we all loved our burgers - even the usual veggie burger friend opted for a cheeseburger (chicago steak seasoning) which she devoured!! I had the house prime burger with grandmas onion soup topped with cheddar, onion, lettuce and ketchup, so tasty! Also tried my friends veggie burger with the curry seasoning and that was also awesome. The fries are delicious - but everyone needs their own. The hostess tried to say 2 would be enough for 5 people, we ordered 3 fries then went back for more. Get the wasabi mayo for french fry dipping! Ill be back soon, as my hubs was jealous when he heard about how yummy my dinner was.

Butcher & The Burger is a Chicago burger joint offering the ability to make your own burger, or pick from one of their popular options. I ordered a classic cheeseburger on my visit featuring cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, beef, pickle, and a flavorful beef patty. The burger was well executed with a tender bun, flavorful beef + cheese, and tangy pickles. My only change to the burger was removing a little bit of the white onion and adding ketchup & mustard (since the burger comes without sauce on top). The tomato and vegetables on top of the burger were a little immense and took away from texture of the package. However, the top quality ingredients and flavorful beef make this one of the better burgers in Chicago.

I was given a hog butchering class as a birthday gift. Chef Al was a fantastic teacher and was very patient with us and showed us exactly how to turn half a hog into portions ready to cook. His classical chefs training gave us insights into how to cook each piece of meat for best flavor and presentation. After our class, we were treated to a wonderful burger dinner upstairs in the restaurant. The build your own concept requires some thought. All the selections and add-ons made a burger worthy of high honors and a knife and fork. I had pork belly on mine which was over the top. After our burgers we were treated to home made ice cream and dessert. A great night! Thanks again to Chef Al and the rest of his team.

Burgers here are great. Patty is awesome and cooked to order, toppings are fresh, everything just tastes great. Ive gone from the menu both times I went, but they allow you to build your own from their various selections of buns/toppings/and patties. Not much space to sit down and eat inside, so it can be difficult if youre in a group to get a place to sit. I was a bit disappointed in the fries. They looked good, I got a lot of them, and they really had the ideal french fry crunch/texture but they just didnt have the flavor I was looking for. Kind of plain tasting, which was a surprise. Would be 5 stars with better fries.

Neighborhood eatery, over-priced hamburgers $8.90 for the basic product but they will try to sell you the grass-fed beef burger for $1.50 MORE. If you keep insisting they will sell you the basic. Appear to have exotic meats on the menu so it may be worth a look. The big moment was leaving with newly cooked burger in hand to discover its barely warm! Not sure how they did it. Wheat bun was great (honest), staff seems earnest. Perhaps still on the shake down phase of a new restaurant. Not sure how the price point holds up for a slightly better-than-average burger, even when served warm.
