My friend and I went to this restaurant on a Friday night. We picked it specifically because it appeared to be a "hole in the wall" Italian spot. I am rarely disappointed by choosing to eat off franchise when I am eating Italian. In fact, I would argue that non-franchise Italian restaurants are usually the best because all of their ingredients are fresh. This is NOT the case at this location. A very friendly hostess immediately seated us, and then the experience quickly went down hill. We sat at the table for about 15 minutes (enough time for our water glasses to be refilled twice by a bus boy) and NO ONE approached our table. We had to ask the bus boy if he would have our waiter come to our table. Our waiter, Miguel, came and asked us if we were ready to order. We didnt even have menus. I am being absolutely serious. Then we asked if they had chilled glasses available for their beer. He assured us that they did, we reiterated and asked if they were frozen glasses, he again said yes. He brought out-- I kid you not-- a soaking wet hot toddy glass. They literally rinsed it under cold water and brought it out to us. The minestrone soup, a dish they are apparently famous for, tasted like Clamato bloody Mary mix with previously frozen steamed vegetables in it. We also ordered the spicy calamari, which was not spicy and actually soggy. Have you ever had fried calamari that wasnt crispy? Neither have I. We asked to speak with a manager, Johnny, just to share our experience. We encouraged him to try the soup and the calamari, as we are quite certain he would be embarrassed to serve it to anyone after tasting it. He went back to the kitchen, supposedly tasted and assured us that it was suppose to taste like that. We then addressed the issue we had with the beer glass, he agreed that it shouldnt have come out like that; he mentioned that they actually have beer glasses and they must have run out. We rebutted that we were literally the only people in the restaurant and he just shrugged his shoulders. We paid for our check and as we were leaving he said, have a better day without even looking up at us. Seriously? I highly recommend this restaurant if you would like bottled beer—because that is literally all that is worth consuming here.

We stopped here for lunch at 1pm. The waiter never introduced himself or told *us* any specials. Instead, he condescending to us and gave substandard service. My dish could not have been cooked correctly. Pasta was doughy. I dont often ask for corrections to my meals but the texture was so off-putting, I had to. The correction he delivered was better but NOT worth the high price and poor service. At least, the pasta was cooked and the sauce finally had the prosciutto that it did not the first time round. I did not complain to my beloved bf who treated me to this lunch, but just now, as I was reheating my leftovers, it spilled out how upsetting the experience was. It turns out that he also chose not to complain to me as to not spoil my afternoon. We were visiting the city and this was a bit of a splurge that I wish was spent elsewhere. Juan, you were wrong. You did not introduce yourself or tell us the specials as you did to the table next to us. Is it because of prejudice? Nor did you come back to check on our satisfaction after a couple bites, and lastly and leastly, no bread was packed as I had requested. I had to wave my arms wildly to get your attention. Bad, dude. Go elsewhere.

We were treated very poorly from the beginning. We requested a table by the side walk and were told they were not available and the people that came up behind us were given a table on the street when they requested it. Our table was very tippy and we showed the waiter when he brought us our glasses of wine. We were served dinner and it still was not fixed and my husband ended up fixing it. They came after we were finished eating and asked if we wanted it fixed. We also noticed that there were things being offered to tables around us such as parmesan cheese and butter for the bread etcetera, as well. Our waiter never offered us any of those things. I believe even though we were dressed nicely, we did not have the affluence that other people that were given priority had. Have not ever encountered this in another establishment. We definitely wont return.

French food done delicately, slightly expensive but you get what you pay for. The food here is very well done. Right from the freshly baked bread that is served upon being seated, which is warm on the inside but crispy on the outside. My entree, which was a pasta, was a delight to savor. The sauce, the meat and the pasta itself came together in a delectable combination. I wanted more and more! The service is top notch, attentive and knowledgeable, they can make great recommendations and also explain what each dish is. We sat in the covered patio and had a great view of the street, people passing by. Overall, this place offers a compelling dining experience, with the key element being the food. The atmosphere and service simply add to an already great experience.

We went here for lunch expecting great Italian food. Instead we found mediocre food with bad service. The pasta dishes on the menu were ones you can find anywhere, lasagna, ravioli, spaghetti, etc. Nothing special like you can find at real Italian restaurants. Then we expected it to be great, but unfortunately the tomato sauce tasted exactly like Chef Boyardees. You can find better pasta in your grocers freezer. On top of it all, the food is expensive and the service poor. There were crumbs on the table when we arrived, and the waitress was terrible (didnt know specials and then told us we had the wrong menus to find out we did have the correct ones). Bottom line: save your money and go elsewhere if youd like good Italian food.

My husband and I had lunch at Rosebud on Rush August 3rd. We had the pleasure of meeting two Managers on duty that day, Dimitrios and John. We were treated with outstanding hospitality and service and felt after leaving that day, we had genuinely made new friends. Truly excellent customer service that made us feel very much at home. We enjoyed an incredible burger, shrimp roll and rigatoni alla vodka, all large portions and absolutely delicious. Our special thanks to Dimitrios and John for taking such good care of us and making sure we had a great experience. Thanks to both of them and their kindness we will definitely recommend this wonderful restaurant and return every time we are in Chicago! Just go, you will LOVE it!!

Checked this place for brunch on Sunday We sat at outdoor seating as they do not have an elevator for stroller. Very very noisy. they make too much noise when they pick up and clean the tables.....most noisy restaurant that ive ever been Service: not so good....my waitress was too busy or slow..I had to ask to refill my coffee several times and waited for a while... Food: portion is generous...potato was good. But Nothing was impressive. I had crab cake Benedict and my hubby had breakfast quesadilla. They are too noisy that I didnt even pay attention when they took my baby glass bottle. I want them to reimburse it...but not even worth it to try to get it back...just I wont go back to this place.
