Awww. Olive Garden. One of my all time favorite places to go. I dont get to visit often due to all my money going to bills and LOTS of kids, but when I do get to go...... The Olive Garden here in Evansville, Indiana is almost always standing room only. It seems to be so anyway because I suppose I go when all of Evansville is there. So, we go in, sign the waiting list and wait.....and then we wait some more.....and then after 20-30 min. our little round vibrating, buzzer with red lights lets us know its time to be seated. Then we wait some more. :-) Anticipation makes the food better I suppose. The atmosphere, a quiet buzzing of people, is actually quite relaxing. With almost every table occupied we follow the host to the table and......we wait some more. lol Our waiter arrives with wine in hand and offers a sampling. This sample is a sweet white wine and though Im not a drinker, I wanted to give this wine my time after sampling it. He pours a glass of sparkling sweet white wine called Mascato and the wine makes a wonderful compliment to the bread sticks and salad. I love the way they toss the salad right at the table and of course I have to have the extra cheese grated in the salad. Looking at the menu is always a mental breakdown for me. Theres so much to choose from. Its almost as though I were a kid in the Willie Wonka Chocolate Factory......I want everything! Choosing the Seafood Alfredo and stuffed mushrooms I wait for the meal to arrive. I fill myself (all 104 lbs.) of salad and bread sticks until the meal arrives. Steamy, cheesey white sauce with crab and shrimp, covering a mound of noodles makes me almost wish I hadnt eaten so much salad and breadsticks. My little belly is poked out and full. However, for Seafood Alfredo I loosen my britches, take a deep breath and begin to shovel. OMG! mouthwatering! The mushrooms are filled with cheese and a breading, look to be oven fried, and I dont think theres anyplace in the world that makes stuffed mushrooms this yummy-fied. The Mascato white wine makes a beautiful compliment to the Alfredo and mushrooms and although theres NO possible way for me to eat everything.....I try! By the end of the meal, Im miserable and I tell myself "ugh, Im never eating this much again, Im miserable". Then I remember my last visit to Olive Garden and realize I felt the same way then, and the time before that. Its funny that I would be so miserable and so content at the same time. Olive Garden.....be miserable and enjoy it! should be the theme. lol So yea, I love Olive Garden, I love the wait (it makes the food better), the staff, atmosphere, and food are the best. Thanks Evansville Olive Garden for making me miserably content. :-) Keep up the great work. RitaAnn~ ...who is daydreaming of fresh out of the oven, garlic butter breadsticks dipped in Alfredo Sauce only the way Olive Garden can make it. Sigh......

I have visited this restaurant several times this time was by far the worst. Greeter was looking down at the machine to get her ticket to seat us or the computer screen the entire time took us to our table. The server came after a LONG wait never offered us a wine taste took forever for our drinks to arrive. We always get the Peach B. Tea it had no peach in it this time. She brought our salad a long wait later it had hardly any dressing on it. another guy brought our meals out I ordered the two special they had for $11.99 it was the wrong one after I had pointed to the top one and said it and even said the Italian mac and cheese. he said oh it is an easy mistake they are not in the same order on our computer as on the ads on the tables???? he would get it right I said or your server just sucks at ALL SHE HAS DONE SO FAR. He brought out my vright food and it was cold and had no taste nothing and nothing like normal not sure if they changed something or made it "special" just for me since i had wrong food. had to ask for drinks even thou our glasses were empty when salad was brought another server got our drinks husband ordered spaghetti at 5 from the dinner menu was given a lunch portion..he was only charged lunch after we saw the bill but it is not what he ordered or wanted it was our dinner and ordered from the dinner menu. we also asked for bread sticks she had two drinks in her hands and our bread sticks under her arm pit sat the drinks down on another table then gave us our bread...like we would eat it asked for everything and took forever food sucked. sent in the evaluation as our receipt said adn the manager called i called back said in a meeting i asked when he might be done because I was at work and much easier for me to call back she said she had no idea and was leaving for vacation. he called me again and said he was turning it over to another manager could not understand his name and to call the other manager next week. I guess my complaint is not very important to you??? no problem then I am sure my visits will not be missed.

Im not sure whats going on, but it seems like the recipes have changed in order to make everything bland. Perhaps trying to cut back the sodium?? Ive always ordered the steak gorgonzola alfredo. Probably for the last 8 years its the only thing i eat there. For some reason this past year it has been flavorless. The steak is different. The sauce that used to top each medallion is just a tiny drizzle or not even there. And i think theyve cut back the Gorgonzola or completely left it off to other day. Even though they raised the price to 15.99. I remember the time it was 12.75! I stopped going last year because they kept ruining my meal with no flavor. Until we decided to give them another chance yesterday, but it was still the same awful tasteless food. Im not sure what happened but something definitely changed. And i hate it. Also, how does the bread get old, cold, and hard when the restaurant is packed? The waitress had to be asked again and reminded for things we asked for, so maybe the manager is overworking them. Or maybe it was just her. Not sure. I wont be back.

The food is pretty much the same every time you visit OG which is a good thing. No surprises! The wait staff is "typically" pleasant and speedy when delivering your food to your table. But, watch out for Kaycee because she might just knock you in the face when she puts your salad plate in front of you. Instead of going out of HER way to reach from behind us to place the coasters, plates, salad, etc.. down on the table, she would reach across our faces. She actually tossed the coasters from one end of the table to the opposite end. If this wasnt bad enough, her attitude was horrible. We are good natured people and pretty easy to please, but she was so rude, angry and disgusted. Not sure who she was mad at?? That is to say until she brought the check and then her "other" personality came out and she was borderline pleasant. Guess she was thinking about that tip, huh?? Next time Biaggis.
