I used to LOVE this place. Now, I find myself awarding it a second star only because the clam chowder remains as good as I remember (albeit at a price significantly higher than at my last visit in the fall of last year). Sadly, the same cannot be said for the fish tacos. They took about 15 minutes longer than they should have. This was evidenced by the lukewarm temperature of the fish—and the diced tomato, slaw and remoulade sauce—inexcusable. Although the lights were on and visible surfaces appeared clean enough, the surroundings were bleak and the cupboards were bare. Aside from water in the live tank and a thin layer of ice in the display case, both were completely empty. The urinal in the men’s room was out-of-order…unless it was covered by a black plastic garbage bag taped to the surrounding wall for no good reason. To my mind, this establishment is in urgent need of an infusion of cash, process controls and enthusiasm. Additionally, I suggest a managing partner with capital resources and a plan for sustainability at the beginning, then growth moving forward. It must be a plan that is shared with a staff whose current, collective demeanor is what likely was seen in the eyes of the crew of the Titanic, late in their maiden voyage. It is my sincere hope guardian angels present themselves here…before its too late.

Overview: Service was seriously awful. Food was delicious. Details: We arrived at 6 PM and immediately ordered appetizers. The appetizers arrived at 6:40! While waiting for appetizers, I saw a gentleman sit down, and when he was ignored he got his own menu. I also saw a couple of very disgruntled delivery drivers waiting a long time. The restaurant had very few people in it. They had to wait a long time as well. Our server was sweet, but she spent the majority of her time in the kitchen, not on the floor. The other server sped by us without a glance. The words that I would use to describe the way the place was being run is "haphazard, sloppy, careless." Once I complained about the appetizers, our main dishes came out fast. The crab cakes were excellent, the lobster roll was good. Overall, I would say that the food is good; the menu is EXTREMELY limited; and the service was unorganized.

This review is mainly for their tuesday special since that is all I have tried but it is an amazing deal. The deal is $2 for a small bowl of any of their soups, their fish taco, or bottles of bud lite/miller lite. For $10 you can have an appetizer, three tacos, and a beer. Amazing. I did not have any of the soups, instead I got a bunch of fish tacos and a beer and was very satisfied. Most of you have probably had bud/miller many times in the past and it goes pretty well with the tacos since its very light and doesnt have any strong flavors. The tacos come in flour tortillas (they dont do corn) but they are grilled so they have some extra flavor to them. Then there is a nice piece of breaded cod in the middle with some veggies and a tasty sauce. All together they create a tasty taco. I will be back on a future tuesday to take full advantage of their daily special.

If you are lost, dont worry, the smell of seafood drifts down Lincoln and will draw you in to New England Seafood Company! Whoa, I am not sure its feasible possible to squeeze any more lobster in to their lobster roll without the use of duct tape to keep in in ($17.95) . The grilled bun was delicious and everything was complemented by the drawn butter and lemon wedge. I am the exact opposite of a lobster roll connoisseur, so while NESCs lobster roll was probably technically perfect, I prefer Fish Bars with a little added herb butter and pizzazz. The table next to us got 2 of the fist tacos ($3.95) and they were really big and looked delicious. A bit more bang for your buck, I think I would try those next time!! They have a very crisp minimalist interior dinning room as well as a three table patio on Lincoln Avenue which is surprisingly quite quiet.

Service was pretty bad. Told it would be a little while for food (30 mins) which was fine but over an hour passed and no food. After asking, since waitress never checked on us, about the food she was clueless and told us "someone" forgot to place it. The manager came and apologized and told us it would be right out and would take care of the food. Food did come out quick, but it was definitely not worth $20 for the small lobster roll with a few fries. When the bill came for drinks we ordered, the food was still in there and again we had to chase the waitress to ask about the bill. She again was clueless about what the manger said about taking care of the food. After 2 hrs an half hours of being there, they did take off the food. Definitely not worth the time or money.

Good but not great would be the best way to describe it. Waited an hour for a table of 5 in a smaller dining room that was packed for a Friday night. The staff as delightful as they were are not equipped to handle a crowd. Our table had lobster bisque, cioppino, fish fry, shrimp platter and a lobster roll. Almost across the board the consensus was the food was a bit bland. I myself am ok with light seasoning especially on seafood because I like the fresh flavors to shine. Bisque was good. Cioppino was light with a bit of spice. The fish fry was nice and juicy while crisp. The shrimp were lightly batter and good as well. And the lobster roll was middle of the pack in terms of size. All in all we would probably return to explore some other menu items.

Bought a Groupon coupon to use her and when I went in they had a sign saying they werent accepting the coupons due to good Friday. I was pist since on Groupon it makes no notion of this fact, when I asked the server they said "oh yea we should put it on there". Then I bought the worst lobster roll Ive ever eaten in my life no exaggeration. The lobster roll had a little more then a shot glass full of lobster meat which was completely flavorless and not seasoned along with a piece of bent over white bread with some mayo on it for a mere $20. Never again will I go here and tell my friends and family to stay away! Youve been warned!!!!

Went w/the wife and 2 kids (3 and under) Got the Lobster bisque which was exquisite, clam chowder which was awesome, a lobster roll which I de-rolled and ended up just eating the lobster, AMAZING. My wife got a crab cake (which consisted of 2 huge crab cakes, not 1) and lastly a kid fish n chips. We had some kid issues which hastened our departure but overall it was so worth it that I am planning on going back soon. I want to get some fresh food to go as well b/c the selection looked outstanding. I highly recommend. It was awesome. $50.10 for all that food and I even have an entire crab cake to eat today!

Ive had much better in New England. I understand this is Chicago and were not near the ocean but I find that seafood comes in one of two forms: previously frozen and/or deep fried. Ive been to this restaurant a few times and have never had a great experience. I always feel like Ive paid a lot expecting quality seafood and have always left disappointed. Even the deep fried platters feel flat crunching on mystery hunks of golden brown batter. Fishing for flavor Ive dipped in the sauces and can never seem to enjoy myself. I probably wont be coming back.
