Went with the family to try this new place for dinner because we are bbq fanatics and good bbq is hard to find around this neck of the woods. Having lived in Texas for about 15 years, I know what authentic bbq tastes like. When we arrived, the waitstaff and employees were very friendly and very attentive, but then again there were no other customers inside the restaurant. For appetizers we ordered the bbq eggrolls and the chicken wings. When the eggrolls came out, I got the impression that they had been pre-cooked and then reheated once the order was placed. The eggrolls were very dark brown in color and a little soggy. Freshly prepared eggrolls should be golden brown in color with a slight crunch. Next out were the smoked/fried chicken wings. The wings were descent and probably the best part of our meal. They came out hot and crunchy, the way freshly fried food should come out. For our entree we ordered the bbq sampler so that we could try a little bit of everything. The hot sausage links were dry, the brisket was greasy and the pulled pork was dry and overcooked. The ribs were probably the only descent meat on the platter. They werent the greatest but they werent that bad. To us it seemed like the meats had been prepared hours prior and had been sitting in the kitchen since lunchtime. We also ordered a side of mac and cheese which wasnt very cheesy and was actually very dry and had no flavor. The "fresh cut" french fries came in this cute little glass boot which looked cute but was impractical for eating purposes. How am I supposed to stick my hand in that cute little boot to get to the bottom of the french fries. The pickled vegatables were not good either. The were very strong and very acidic and again seemed like they were leftover from the day prior and not freshly prepared. The biscuit looked overbaked and tasted like it had been reheated prior to serving. The bbq sauce tasted like ketchup and was also very bland. Lastly, the prices were a little on the high side, $30 for the sampler platter which really didnt include a whole lot of meat, $4 for the side of mac and cheese that was in a tiny little side cup and not to mention the prices for stuff on the menu that we did not order. Overall we were not pleased with the food and wont be going back. I dont know if its because the place is still rather new and maybe the owner or owners need more time to actually figure it out so I will keep checking back to see other reviews.

Do yourself a favor and skip this place. My family and I ate there on a Friday evening at 6 p.m. the inside was clean but that was also nearly empty. I believe just another three other tables were occupied. By the time we left there was just one other couple in there. Which is not a good sign. The dining room does look clean and orderly. Tables have cloth table covers with white paper liners on top. A roll of paper towels instead of napkins. Perfect! For a barbecue place. I think there was a two person wait staff. Suspicious for a Friday night. What we had at our table was chicken fried steak, chicken dinner, and a BBQ sampler platter. The chicken fried steak with nearly flavorless. Be better and steak itself were not seasoned. As was the same for the fried chicken. There was a coagulated goop on top of the fried steak that was trying to pass for gravy. you have to admit comma that my sampler platter was good. But everything on there was at best room temperature. The ribs have very little meat and a little dry. The shredded pork was a little on the chewy side the chicken wings were very good. But how can you really messed up chicken wings? And the brisket was tasty but again a little on the cool side. It did take about 25 to 30 minutes to get our meal. Considering the place wasnt exactly busy is a probably a little long in my book. But to also get your food cold is inexcusable. We finished it off with a Brownie dessert which was, Im sure, not homemade and somewhat mediocre at best. There are little telltale signs that theyre cutting corners to save money. The windows on the street side have not been washed in weeks. And 80% of light bulbs for their sign out front were out.

This place is amazing! We had dinner on the patio, great! Im not a fan of BBQ however you can get many items with out BBQ sauce! I had the fried chicken with a side of mac n cheese, biscuit and french fries. The fried chicken had a bit of Sriracha sauce drizzled on it, OMG! Lightly spicy, so good I couldnt finish it all! Texas size portions! Did you know everything at this restaurant is made from scratch? Yep! I couldnt believe it! The homemade biscuits were delicate and melted in my mouth! So Yummy! The staff and Chef were very personable. This place is a must on the list of places to eat when in Chicago! I highly recommend it!

My order- full slab, brisket sandwich, wings appetizer and pecan pie. Take out. Ribs were tough as jerky, dry and tasted like pizza joint ribs. Cole slaw was bland, big containers of it too (trying to get rid of it). Mac n cheese side, nope. Sandwich was dull in flavor. Wings were also tough, but tasted good so perhaps id order again to give them another shot. The pie was ok, probably better to have at the restaurant since it seems that it is made there. I MIGHT give them another shot.

STAY AWAY!! This was take home order. By far the worst ribs and brisket we have ever had. The ribs were so tough that it was a struggle to cut them apart, never ever have I had such horrible ribs. The brisket was old and dry. The sides were tasteless. We ended up throwing it all away, I guess I should have taken it back and demanded our money back. I guess the fact that the place was completely empty at 8:00 pm on a Saturday night should have been a clue to how bad this place is.

Service was great but food was not worth the money we spent. Ribs were very tough, which is sad because the sauce was tasty. Mac and cheese was ok. Beans, cole slaw and pickled veggies tasted horrible. Fries and biscuit were good. Never going back, I wish I would have read the reviews before stepping foot in that place. Dont waste your money. We should have went to Fat Willys in Logan Square, thats where you go for real bbq.

My boyfriend and I went there for lunch and everything was delicious. I had the pork n mac sandwich and tomato bisque. The tomato bisque was so delicious and the sandwich was perfect. The manager also came out to greet us. He was so friendly and he definitely cared about the quality of his food and the quality of service. It was so refreshing. Definitely recommending to everyone.

The servings and hospitality is top rated. Its in a neighborhood that is used to the fast food and cheap prices. But for 20$ + you can get a sampling of what they have to offer, and trust me you wont be disappointed or hungry afterwards. This is my neighborhood place that many dont know about yet. Do yourself a favor and come check it out!!!
