This is the first place I was told to check out when I moved to Chicago and it took me 7yrs to make it here but La Crêperie did not disappoint! Great cozy atmosphere, maybe too cozy if youre trying to squeeze between tables in a puffy Northface coat in the back room! Between two we split a savory and sweet. Asparagus and mushroom with moray sauce was rich, fresh and divine! Buckwheat creeps were not what I have experienced before, crispness more like tortillas that are grilled but the filling, that sauce, mmmmm. Banana Nutella crepe was delicious as expected. Good drink selection, wine, beer and if you want a hot toddy they will make it, though you wont find it on the menu. Wouldnt recommend La Crêperie if you were starving but for a light, rich and delicious meal it will be my new go to!!

The most authentic creperie in Chicago. The owner for 30 years, Germaine got some partners after shuttering the doors recently and but the quality remains the same and there are cocktails and new wines. I am a vegitarian and the buckwheat crepes with aparagus and fromage, or the ratatouille are awesome. The seafood is my family favorite. The desert crepes that remains my favorite is fresh strawberry, chocolate and grand Marnier! Germaine has a nice garden in the back and if your lucky his friends come and sing while he plays trumpet. My family have passed so many occasions here and it is truely a treasure! Nice to go somewhere that feeds your body and soul. Can park fairly cheap across the street but I normally get lucky on Clark. Bon appetit!

Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of eating in a French Creperie in France knows that there is nothing authentic about this farce of a creperie. The decor was rustic, but unkept. Although pleasant, the wait staff was overly busy and under informed. The "savory" crepe, supposedly made with a combination of buckwheat flour and wheat flour, looked and tasted like a run of the mill, poor quality crepe and left me wondering if they even know what buckwheat is! The worst part was that "La Complete" (egg, cheese, ham), a very traditional combination for a "galette" (i.e. savory crepe made with buckwheat flour), had scrambled eggs in it! Unimaginable! We did not even bother with dessert. Quelle déception. Nous étions vraiment déçus.

I didnt think the food was actually anything to write home about. It was good, but not jaw dropping fantastic. The server was flat out rude, but I am hoping it was just an off night for service because the restaurant itself was so charming and quaint. I loved the atmosphere! Great place for a date night! Ill definitely be back! And next time Ill go with someone a little more willing to try new and unusual things because my dining companion wanted to split everything but was only willing to eat cheese crepes - just my luck. So we had a goat cheese crepe (yum! but goat cheese on cardboard would be yum too) and the pollo fromage crepe. Next time Im taking someone else and trying other, more adventurous selections.

I dont typically write reviews, but enjoyed this restaurant so much I had to give them some positive feedback. Ive been craving a good crepe ever since I had one outside of Notre Dame cathedral from a street vendor in Paris, and I will say La Creperie was just as good! Portions were big, prices were very reasonable for the quality food, and service was fantastic. All the waiting staff was very friendly, quick to seat us on a busy Sunday brunch hour, and when they missed bringing out my friends Latte it was "on the house". Excellent customer service and the outdoor patio was great! I will definitely return and bring more guests from out of town. Dont change a thing!

My family and I have been coming to La Creperie for as long as I can remember. Each year, we get to have a special birthday dinner and La Creperie has been my go to place for a delectable dining experience. It was also the first place I was convinced to try French onion soup, it is now the BEST I have ever had. The ingredients are fresh, the crepes are scrumptious, the staff is friendly, I cannot say enough good things about this place. I make it a part of my annual itinerary back to Chicago when I visit from Austin. Thanks for keeping a Chicago delicacy alive for all these years!

This place has that french atmosphere going on, and they actually have extremely decadent and delicious crepes to boot. The main room when you walk in has low lighting, decorated with vintage posters on the walls, and candles on every table add to the ambiance. I tried the goat cheese and chicken crepe...and it was completely fattening but I could not stop eating it. They also have a sweet crepe selection, and you really cant go mixing nutella with anything on there. Despite all appearances, they have very reasonable prices, so you will feel satisfied all around.

Crepes, fromage, and wine were positively brilliant. A perfect place for a romantic and quiet dinner for two where it is only natural to savor each dish. We had the boeuf bourghinion and chicken, tomato, and goat cheese crepes. Dont forget to ask your server for a wine reccomendation, our pairing was perfect for what we ordered . And of course, who could resist finishing a meal with creme anglese and strawberries in a crisp crepe sprinkled with powdered sugar? A newly discovered favorite that we will cherish.

This lovely place serves great French food. Its not fancy but its great for a date. The food is very filling. Dont think that these are small breakfast crepes. These are big boy dinner crepes. My only complaint would be that their drink menu is limited. It would be nice if they had a few more options for martinis, but that is just me and Im being picky. I go to this place about 1-2 times a month. It is one of my favorite places to eat in the city. Ive been going there since 1993.

Would be happy to go back again. This reminded me of a restaurant in Montreal that specializes in crepes. I really liked this restaurant- the crepes were pretty good, the service was decent, and I liked the intimate, informal environment. My only critiques are that it was sometimes a little slow in getting service, and the menu, while pretty good, could certainly benefit from a little more variety.

This place has good crepe choices. Beside their sweet menu they have some French sandwiches as well. We tried their coconut and nutella crepe which was delucious and their croq. Their drinks have high quality as well. Besides the food their design is very unique. They can work on their service a little bit, but over all it is a must go place for brunch.

I have been to this place since college in the early 2000s... and the menu has barely changed... which is a testiment to how amazing their food is. I organized a bridal shower in their patio in the summer where they have fairy lights hanging... beautiful. Great wine selection and its great to know that it will always be exactly how I left it.

The food was delicious on my first visit. My second visit not at all. In fact, the entire experience was not that great. The waiter who happens to be one of the managers, seemed like something was wrong. He clearly had an attitude. I did address it to another staff who then apologized. Overall it was a very uncomfortable and awkward visit.
