This is a new, cute, bright bakery in the Edgewater neighborhood of the city. The Owner is friendly, but still needs to learn the ropes when it comes to customer service. I will not go into details here as this is a new bakery, and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. The employees are hospitable and knowledgeable. If you are not sure what to get here, ASK. They will help you out. The sweet treats range from cookies to cupcakes to pastries and cakes and everything else in between. Nothing really jumped out at me in terms of a sweet treat, so I do not see myself rushing back here for something specific. I enjoyed a coconut cupcake and butter cookies. I dont know if this bakery will stay around 7-years from today, but I hope the people who live in the neighborhood will patronize them. The price-point on some items was high, but others were somewhat reasonable. We enjoyed our cupcakes at home with freshly made Keurig coffee. They have a few tables and chairs, but we saw no one eating there. It appears to be a "take out" kind of bakery. Although I prefer Mollys cupcakes to the Edge of Sweetness cupcakes, I rate their cupcakes with 4-stars. Owner, 3-stars. Employees: Friendliness and Customer Service, 4 stars. If you are ever in the Edgewater neighborhood with a sweet tooth or live in or near this area of the city, hit it up! My review is based on one visit. Will I rush back there again? Probably not.

I know I just visited on their second day but the staff was wonderful. Got a chance to hear about how they got to opening the shop and how our wonderful Alderman stopped 3 different mattress stores from trying to claim the space for themselves. Tried the coconut cupcake, Grandmas crispies cookie, hot chocolate marshmallow cookie, and the chocolate butter cake. All were delicious. Definitely recommend going in, saying hi, and checking out the great new addition to Edgewater.

This bakery is excellent - or mediocre, depending on what you get. The staff is all excellent. Very warm and friendly. The space is great to sit and chat, work in, whatever. They just added a patio that looks very nice. The baked goods are very hit or miss. Every cookie Ive had has been excellent - the two pieces of cake (different cakes, different days) were super dry and sad? If youre careful about your order, youll have a lovely experience.

I ordered a key lime pie and got a frozen banana cream pie. Objectionable because 1) got wrong order, 2) a defrosted pie just seeps and leaks, making the crust a soggy mess, and 3) if I wanted a frozen pie I.e. Not a fresh bakery made pie, I would have gone to the Jewel. Certainly it wouldnt have costed me $25 for a frozen pie from Jewel. Called the bakery to complain and they refused to do anything. Never going back.

Great place to get a simple cup of coffee or a well balanced slice of cake, pastry is home style and family oriented, a nice shop for a nice neighborhood. I can also add that I have morning coffee here everyday, and although they are new to an open storefront the owners and staff are doing their best to give the best service. Such kind hearted people that live here.

The baked goods are decent enough, some are hits and some are misses. Coffee is unremarkable, and the owner got real uppity when I asked about who its from. Nice people, but you can tell theyre new to the game. Shocked to see front of house workers in flip-flops; dont think the health inspector would be too pleased with that.

Cute shop that just opened in the Edgewater neighborhood. They have coffee, teas, and lots of treats to choose from. I tried the chai tea, which was very good. They gave me my open tea pot to pour out as much tea as I like. The treats look very scrumptious! Ill have to try one on my next trip here.

Edge of sweetness is a lovely space with excellent food and amazing coffee. it is perfect for people who enjoy metropolis coffe, but dont want to wait forever among the hippest hipsters for their drinks and a seat.

Great customer service. Banana bread was out of this world, but baguette was dry even though it was a Saturday morning, it looked like it was from the day before.

Maybe we picked the wrong things (Magic cookie bar and a carrot cookie sandwich) but it was just ok. Nothing I would waste calories on again.

Theyre trying to sell Nespresso, no espresso machine in house. This business will be closing in 3,2,1...

Lemon Cake was dry, Bourbon Blonkies were underbaked. Go to Licketys people.

Great pastry. Not so great coffee if you are a serious espresso connoisseur.
