This is one of the top bbq places I have been in the city. Sits there with Vernons and Pappys. The only downside I could say is that it is so far from me. The sauces are perfectly sweet, spicy, and the perfect consistency to liberally coat your meat of choice. I had their pulled pork and it was perfectly what I wanted. Smoked and tender. The pork steak my brother had was a new experience for me. I only got to try a bite but that bite assured that it would be what I got the next time I was there. I have been leery of pork steaks because they tend to be kind of greasy and unappetizing to look at. What I was able to see, as my brother wolfed his steak down, was that it was caramelized on the outside and tender on the inside with none of the cartiledgy fat I have come to expect from a pork steak. It was also huge. Took up half his tray. My mom and fiance both got sandwiches and it looked like they straddled the line of stuffed and consumable perfectly. They were able to eat the sandwich without having everything fall out but also have huge hunks of bacon hanging from them. To top it all off, they even have excel soda. Best local soda here. Forget Fitzs. They need to get a dessert, which it sounds like they sometimes have, as they mentioned apple pie. would have rounded off a perfect lunch. I want to see if its as good as Vernons smoked fruit cakes, puddings, and pies.

Came in ordered 2 brisket Phillys and 2 beverages 35 dollars. Which is horrible but i let it go i get my food thinking since they pretty much charge your soul for the food its gonna be a generous portion well the sandwich was about 5 inches and more bread than anything it didnt come with silverware and it took about 5 minutes to get the attention of the girl standing behind the bar to get forks for our sides she was more concerned about talking with a fellow employee on break. Meanwhile another employee comes out putting his greasy gloves all over the soda machine and someone in the kitchen is throwing food at him through the window. Real professionals here. From what i could tell through the window is the place could use a visir from the health department and the owner needs to go to rehab to get rid of his drug addiction i wont be back to feed it all and all the portion size and prices stink 3.5/5 for flavor for what i paid for 35 dollars was about 13 dollars to high at 13 dollars a sandwich atleast INCLUDE drink. I feel like the meal should have came with lube a condom and a cigarette because i just got raped.

My first experience was great!!! Had the pulled pork sammy with slaw. Delightful...and the sauce, oh the sauce...with that hint of Jack (or Bourbon, whatever you put in there) was amazing, I could have just put a straw in it and drank it. However, this past Saturday I spent 82.00 on a take out order...2lbs pulled pork, two sides of ribs, 2 pts potato salad (was told did not have beans that day, even though the special was brisket nachos...) Ribs were overdone and mostly burnt. Pulled pork as not pulled, had to ask and wait for sauce to be put in the order (why would I get 2lbs of pulled pork and not sauce?)...Well the sauce was awful, no bourbon to be found. No smoke tasted to be found. I had raved about this place and was taking this food for a bday celebration in South County, Missouri. How embarrassed and disappointed I was. Not sure if I will come back if you cant get any consistency with your signature sauce.

The staff and facility was polite and clean, it just wasnt that good of a food experience for us. We had a pulled pork sandwich with potato salad and a brisket burrito to go. We were the only ones there, still took over twenty minutes to get the order. I would understand if there was a line, weve waited over an hour for good bbq, but they just are very slow, to a point where we almost walked out. Then theres the food. The pork had little to no flavoring on it. No sauce, no spice, no nothing. The slaw on it tasted like straight mayo too. The potato salad was overcooked and flavorless. The burrito had good brisket, but it was a shame they put all the sauce and tomatoes and everything on the outside of it where it fell off. My husband had to ask for some tinfoil and wrap the burrito himself because they didnt know what to-go entailed. Dont see what all the hubub is about here. Its sub par food with long waits.

Decent food. Ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and kielbasa were ok. Nothing to write home about. Not a fan of the cole slaw but then again, not a fan of cole slaw. Kale was ok with a hint of garlic. Brussel sprouts were amazing. I wouldnt think I liked brussel sprouts (and I probably dont) but these are fried in pork and salt and are not your typical brussel sprouts. Fountain drinks were decent. Theyre off brand but they have substitutes for colas, lemon-lime, and grapefruit pops. They were all modestly carbonated or better but most tasted a little off. I think Im just used to Coke and Pepsi products. And, of course, they have tea, both sweet and unsweet. Friendly atmosphere and overall a decent place to grab a bite. Almost forgot, if you pay with credit card, theres no way to tip after the fact since you pay up front. Kinda weird to tip on service that you havent received (except from the person taking your order).

My experiences at Beast BBQ, could not be any more different than Mr. Rhoades. My family and I have been here several times. The food is excellent and the service is great. As you walk in, turn left for dine in or turn right for carry out. The entire menu is locally sourced. That includes the soda fountain. Excel Bottling products (Ski) are featured exclusively. Tipping is appreciated but, not expected or required, as the employees are paid very well - states the sign at the cash register. Place your order and find a seat. Your food, will come to you. Items do sell out, as the day progresses. The menu also changes from day to day. The Beast also has a very unique, weekend breakfast menu. The Apple Butter Pancakes are really good! The staff, to a person, is friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. I highly recommend this place. Belleville, is becoming a Mecca for great BBQ lovers.

Hands down, this is the best restaurant on the planet! Everything about the place was perfect in my humble opinion. The best plate to order was recommended to us by the staff assisting us while in the line to order. Its the 2 meat combo w/ a half order of pork steak & half order of brisket burnt ends. We also ordered the turkey & chicken. My wife liked the turkey the better than the chicken. The quality of each meat was perfect & stands alone in its category. For sides, we had the Brussel sprouts, baked beans, candied bacon, cole slaw, and seared potato salad. Ive been to some of the best BBQ joints in Florida, Texas, Southern California, Missouri, Illinois, South Carolina, etc...honestly, this restaurant smokes the competition. No biased opinion here, just super passionate about good food like all of the employees here were too. Beer selection & soda selection was excellent as well.
