this is the worst barbeque place Ive ever been to!! the childrens menu does not exist, lets just say it is a joke!! The food, was served cold not warm or hot but cold! lets talk about the bugs that were flying around the place of course that was disgusting, I lost my appetite I got a to go box, and left! When I got home I put a lol water on it & put it in the microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds and then I put some LEA & A-1 sauce on it and it was way better!! I guess I shouldve known it was going to be bad when they told me that they werent serving items on there everyday menu the whole experience was just aweful! P.S I you arent used to quality then this is the place for you!!!

Breakfast party of 9 out of town guests whom I thought would get a nice southern breakfast experienced slow service ( about 30 min after ordering) and cool to lukewarm bland breakfasts Im guessing neither the cooks nor the servers nor the managers have any sense of time or any idea that most of us would like our food served hot and timely. Even bad food tastes better hot. There is really no excuse for it. None.

The food is fresh, very good. My mother would take me and my little brother, also my aunt Lenora i loved her so much have a lot of good memories. We always got the stew it was my favorite, i make it homemade now and it right up there with O.H.H. my aunt loved Rio Vista on Memorial Dr. all you care to eat cat fish when we left, they knew we had put a hurtin on the fish, it was good times.

My family and I have been coming to The Old Hickory House since I was a little girl. I recently found this location coming from my honeymoon. The food was just as I remembered. Great to know that this location is still up and running. The chopped BBQ Pork Sandwich and Brunswick Stew were awesome. Its a hour travel time for me but I will be back really soon.

All you need is Mel Tillis playing on the radio and youll be back to a better time. The time when men were men! Reagan was president and all was well! Selfies and skinny jeans hadnt been invented yet. At least for a few minutes I was able to relive those glorious times while visiting the OLD HICKORY HOUSE! God bless this place and the USA!!!!!

Service was fast. Wait staff OK. Food was not. I had the rib platter with beans and potato salad. Ribs were dry and tough to eat. The sides (beans were lukewarm. I usually like some heat/smoke coming off my sides)(potato salad, it wasnt like mommas but ok). I was disappointed. It was a Monday at the end of the day visit (1st visit).

1. I was raised on Old Hickory. 2.The food is always excellent. Some people dont know real southern food. So they will not have the same taste. My food is always hot when I receive it. The cobblers: blackberry, peach, apple, cherry, blueberry and strawberry is to dream for with some ice cream. The people are very friendly too.

Straightforward country cooking. Great BBQ. No frills and large portions so I usually take leftovers home. Not super expensive and not trying to be fancy -- you can get a hipster experience in Atlanta at Sweet Auburn, but HERE you can get your grandmas cooking with her a attitude too, a little sweet but no nonsense.

This is a staple in the Bar B Q world in Atlanta all though you wouldnt know it with all the press from the new and "want a be" spots. I can remember going to Old Hickory House with my parents 40 plus years ago and it is sad that this is the only location left. Best Brunswick Stew in town!

Ive been going here since before I could walk! I love the servers, I actually know one very personally. She knows exactly what I want each time. Old Hickory House has a good country feel with great food! There is a lot of variety also. If you want some good ATL BBQ, this is the place to go!

Bland, dry and tasteless. Bathrooms smelled like pee. Sheriff Justice was right - this place is a choke and puke. On the plus side folks at surrounding tables were having breakfast fare and it looked delicious. In the unlikely event that I return I will definitely try breakfast.

Lackluster service and mediocre standard fare food may make many people give this a pass. The prices are great tho, and certainly a good value. Not much bad to say, but nothing rely good to say either. A good bet if youre not a gambler.

A real old-fashioned barbecue spot. You will know that youre in the right place as soon as you step out of your car - you can smell the meat from everywhere in the parking lot. Great meats and sides - good Brunswick stew as well.

This place is hard to beat for food and price!!! One of the best deals in town! The BBQ is always on point and the servers super nice...plus did I mention how great the prices are!!!!! Great for large groups to come and enjoy :)

Id equate the menu and quality of food to Cracker Barrel, but more limited and a little worse. Service is inconsistent and usually substandard. The baked beans are great - the only thing on the menu Id go out of my way to eat.

Ive been going to the hickory house since I was a kid and I have to say that today is the worst experience I have every had. The server was sloppy and rude and weve sat a the table for over a hour after they took our order.

Strange how you remember certain places you have gone to for almost 40 years. Bread came burnt. Salad was much smaller. Pork was barely chewable and the Brunswick stew was burnt. Other than this it was the same old place.

The portions are very small for the prices charged. Theyre quite overpriced. I was very dissatisfied with their version of barbeque sauce. It tasted just like ketchup!!! The whole place needs a full steam cleaning!!!

Have loved Hickory House since I was a kid. Now that I am a vegetarian I still go for the biscuits and salads.I remember how great the BBQ beef and Brunswick Stew is and sometimes wish I could still eat it.

Southern charm. Breakfast foods cooked the southern way with waitresses serving you the same way. Older crowd. They dont rush you out. It is definitely an old restaurant. The prices are terrfic.

So close to homemade its ridiculous. Staff can be warm and friendly or straight to the point - either way its like being at home. I know Im not always super friendly, but the food is always super good!

I I worked at the Old Hickory House at Northlake it was all about the owner the owner was not good to the employees it was all about the restaurant and not good at all for the employees he was cheap.
