Last night was my first time visiting this place and from what I experienced, they really need to step it up! First off, it is a buffet style setting, but they dont give you a glass plate or real utensil options for customers who wish to dine in. You have to wait for your food to be cook and they call you up instead of bring it to your table, like a carry out restaurant. You will get a close plastic container to put your food in. Turn off number one! Then I had to wait 30 minutes for the catfish I order. And from the way it tasted, it was not clean! It taste like the water it came from, very gritty and fishy, and full of bones. I think they should warn customers that the catfish has a lot of bones. The sides of mac & cheese and black eye peas was just ok, the cabbage was so hard and not fully cooked, my cousin and friend had the rib tips and they didnt not enjoy them either. We all left out with a bunch of wasted food that was thrown in the trash and money gone!!! They must know their food is bad, they have a sign with a NO REFUND policy, but you could exchange for something else. We was so turned off, we didnt want to take anymore chances. The cashier up front was not organize, didnt know who ordered what. I noticed other customers was getting angry... I will never visit this place or any of their other restaurants again..... The positive thing I can say is the place was very clean and nice for dining. The banana pudding was good, that is the only good thing I can say and that is why I gave 1 star. If the food was good, the price would be reasonable....

I recently went to this location on 7/16/2016 at 8:35 PM. I must say first the location looks nice and since I came down from Arkansas to visit a friend, I asked my friend about a location that could host my company function of 100 people. My friend stated this establishment so I obliged him and went. Well, here comes the bad part. First, the entire staff from the order taker to the cashier were rolling eyes, walking off from people, and catching too much attitude. I had order number 328, in which I ordered Spicy Rib, Mild Rib, and a 2PC Catfish dinner for my daughter. Needless to say the order never made it to our table after waiting 20 minutes. I had to get up and ask the hold up, the waiter came back with an answer of they are still working the 2PC fish dinner. I told her to charge me for mother food and the drinks but refund my credit card but they could never get that correct. I paid $84.62 for my order and since the refund amount could never get right, I had to ask for the manager. The manager came out with an excuse of six people walked off the job and never really cared about the 3 Ps of their Piss Poor Performance. That staff is too comfortable in being lack luster and this is solely a product of Ownership and Management. He would have never thought what I was down there for and as for anyone attempting to attend this establishment should go elsewhere! I am dead serious GO ELSEWHERE!!!! Really they deserve no stars for a rating.

Service was the worst at this location. I have lived in Atlanta for awhile and I ate at one of the locations when I first moved here amd thought it was ok but overrated. Recently I decided to try it again and stop at the new location on Panola Road. Very beautiful I must say but the service was the worst. I ordered a very simple meal just some fried fish and veggies. I watch the service staff stumbled all over each other, and get nothing done. My fish sat on the counter for ten minutes before someone attempted to fix my sides then when I got my order it was the wrong order altoghther. I complained to the smart mouth cashier and she stated " Im just the cashier I didnt fix it" SHortly after that the manager came over and refunded my money while the cashier argued with another customer. Eventually the manager had to ask her to be quiet. This had to be the worst ghetto experience ever. I will never return this place is the worst. Cant comment on the food because I never got it.

I agree with all who said the food is overpriced and NOT great! I dont go to this restaurant often and now I remember why. I had a taste for some oxtails and decided to stop in. Boy, was I sorry!! The meat was way undercooked, down to the potatoes in it and the rice was a soupy mess with VERY salty gravy poured all over it!! When the server asked how the good was and I gave him the feedback he seemed annoyed and gave me a bunch of excuses about each "batch" is different and sometimes the cook may get heavy handed with the salt. WHAT?? If the meat is not properly cooked people, DONT serve it!! Bottom line is, at no point did he offer to make it right even though I had only eaten the sides and had to throw away most of the soupy, salty rice and undercooked meat and potatoes. This shows me how little they care about customer satisfaction. Needless to say, I will probably never never go back there. The best part about the visit was the nice jazz music that was playing.

Im going to give them 2 stars because as Im walking up the darker slim young lady rolls her eyes then the other short fair complexion young lady refuses to give eye contact. I am wanting to order 2 veggies but what I want isnt ready but shes looking down with disgust and says it will be 10 minutes. First impression is everything. When customers walk into a business they should feel welcomed. Unfortunately I did not feel welcomed. People have to realize facial expressions says a lot. If they dont like dealing with the public this isnt the place. I love the food but the ladies at the front have made me decide to never come back. Ill spend my money else where. The owners and/or the Managers shouldve asked them to leave work until they are ready to deal with the public. Like I said I wont be coming back & im definitely sharing my experience with my family, friends,l & associates.

Me, the Wife and our 4 kids came it was wonderful. It was a long wait at 3:30 on a Saturday. I have never been this satisfied on the pure taste of food alone. Our server was Christina, even though she said she was new. Her class said otherwise. She was exceptional!!! I was so happy, we took a to go order. Yes, there were some workers that seemed pushy as you were in line getting food. If it wasnt for that and the restaurant not having at least 2 secure/safe child seats, this would be 5 stars. To be clear, the food alone is 5 star. Though the customer service alone, is what will hinder me from driving over an hour(Athens) again. It seems, that the chief complaint is customer service. Please for the sake of soul food, polish the customer service. THIS IS IT.....is where its at.
