There was a small line when we arrived, and the single waitress took multiple phone orders as we stood first in line, so by the time we placed our order we werent surprised when she told us thered be a long wait. We asked for our order to go, she asked if we wanted to go cups and we said yes. Because of the long wait and the free kim chi (the whole cramped place smells like its been pickled in kim chi) my partner went and got a bowl of kim chi. When he sat down the waitress huffed, So i guess you dont want your to go bowls and slammed them down. My partner is non confrontational and didnt know how to respond so said nothing but kind of grinned as if she might be joking. When our order was finally ready and the smell of pickled puke breath had marinated my lungs we politely asked for our to go bowls which were still sitting out. The waitress irritably countered that we had said we didnt want them. This led to a very awkward persistent back and forth as she repeatedly refused to hand over a to go bowl for our food, with her pointing to the place she had slammed the bowl and reenacting the experience from her point of view, and us politely insisting wed wanted a bowl. Customers were starting to turn and watch. They were probably thinking, stupid Americans. Finally she surrendered the coveted concave styrofoam dish to us so we could leave with our food. I was so galled by what had to be the rudest customer service i had ever received but my partner insisted I not complain. After seeing similar (albeit less detailed) reviews, I wonder if any of the cooks or managers are aware of how this one snobby, scantily clad english speakers behavior deters business, or if she has any other redeeming qualities? My partner insists the food (9.99 beef plate) is amazing but i was too mad to eat. Will update to 5 stars upon hearing of staffing change--in the meantime, order delivery.

I went there yesterday after reading the reviews on here and it being down the street I went. There is no printed menu so much as they have a marker board where the menu and prices are written on daily but I see nothing more than $12. I had the Korean Beef. Sauteed beef with sesame seeds and green onions. It comes with white rice. Very good and delicious. I am going again today and maybe trying one of their soups. Just be warned that it could use a bit of house cleaning. Edit: I did not try one of their soups because it had noodles in it and I am not a fan of thick noodles in my soups. I did order the Rice Medley and the Unagi(Eel) Bowl. The rice medley is basically a little white rice surrounded by various vegetables such as red peppers, seaweed, onions, some kind of pickled vegetable(maybe daikon?) , carrots, and some other veggie I ca not make out. It also has sauteed beef on the side and a egg on top with a little Sesame. Came with some soy based sauce. Not bad really. It is more of a sampler salad in my opinion. Unagi Bowl is a nice sized piece of (barbequed?) eel with fish egg on top. It sits on a bed of lettuce, carrot and onion and comes with white rice. Very delicious. In fact for me the best way to enjoy the flavors is to have the rice + the main meat or veggie in one bite together. They still do the free Kimchi and soup. The tea, coffee, and water is free as well. What a excellent way to pass time while you wait for your food.

Okay Ill give you a little background about me before I go into detail about this restaurant. To keep it plain in simple... I LOVE FOOD. I am from the tampa area and was up here visiting a friends friend. I was in the mood for korean bbq and found this place by mere coincidence! Lets dive right into it! I ordered a poke bowl and an korean beef bowl.. Yes I know, I was really HUNGRY! They use fresh ingredients and my god, the flavours of the korean beef was to die for! The special korean red sauce had a unique flavor to it that I have never tasted before. It is definitely a game changer for your food and will leaving you wanting to put in the whole bottle in your bowl! The price was phenomenal for the amount of food that is served! I believe it was $9.99 to $12.00 each bowl depending on what meat and dish you are getting. Did i forget to mention that the sides are ALL YOU CAN EAT? Even the soups! Barley tea is also included! My LocalGuide Score system: -Food 10/10 (Chef blessed my food with love) -Atmosphere (Typically in & out restaurant) 8/10 The place is small and not fit to hold a party more than 4 - Price 10/10 ( The portions given makes the price affordable) P.S. I ordered take out before heading back to Tampa. My all time favorite korean restaurant for now! Maybe Google will start sponsoring me to visit other restaurants to try out their cuisines! I hoped you enjoyed this review! Ill definitely be back!

Im still sticking with an "actual" four stars BUT Ill spend this review focused on why they are a "virtual" five stars. The narrow band of dishes offered are exceptional. Flavors, textures, temperature and combinations all make sense and (I think) offer even the most gastronomically prudish several entry points that are enjoyable. "Narrow band" of dishes is one reason I refrain from that fifth star. If we could add 50% more options it would still be insufficient but itd make that fifth star more realistic! Im conspicuously staying away from the clamshells used as dine-in vessels being a factor. I get the whole sensibility thing reducing the need for dishwashing - however there are more ecologically sound options that wouldnt break the bank. I suspect passing the increased cost to the diner wouldnt be a problem. Im a big BIG fan of barley tea. Love it. It is made precisely as any other barley tea Ive had - so not unique, just good! What is new to me is the rice malt drink. Very good. Barley tea, water, coffee and rice malt beverage all come included with your meal - as do the kimchi (cabbage and bean sprout). I just wish theyd pull the trigger and open the future & awesome location (complete with its expanded five-star-qualifying menu) somewhere on magnolia (between Miccosukkee & Lafayette)..

When we entered it was very crowded so we waited till the cashier was ready to take our orders. We sat on the counter because there was no other space. We served ourselves the kimchi, the soup and the drinks which are free . We started to be very impatient after 30 minutes . We also noticed that many people who came after us were served before us. But we decided to wait a bit more then my husband asked the waitress where our orders were. She didnt want to admit she forgot us. She brought the boxes and we realized our name wasnt correct + the order wasnt correct. She apologized but she didnt want to make it alright. After one hour waiting we could finally eat. The result is we werent hungry after waiting for so long. The menu has two price but we dont really know what the difference is . I took a vegetarian dish and I think she counted as a meat meal. We were tired of this place and the noise inside. We wanted to give four at the beginning then the experience got worse and worse. Food is okay but not exceptional but the free stuffs are tasty. If you go there be careful they dont forget you, dont go there when you feel tired and want to be in a quiet place and keep an eye on how they charge you. For us we wont go back
