A small building tucked away between a barber shop and a car shop holds some of the most amazing Jamaican food in Atlanta. The wall had two photos of the owner with Andre 3000, thats a nice endorsement. Three stacks approves. I ordered the jerk chicken breast meal with cabbage, rice and fried plantains ($10). The staff was very friendly and offered to put ox-tail sauce on my rice, good idea. Another good idea was the jerk sauce on the chicken. The chicken was super flavorful and tender and had a lasting heat that was pleasant. The cabbage was crunchy, I liked it. The rice was wonderfully seasoned and very fresh. And the plantains...THE PLANTAINS!! Simply put they were amazing. The meal comes with 3 on the side, but this turned out to be not enough for me! I revisited after about an hour later and picked up 16 more fried plantains ($6) and an Arizona green tea (only $0.99, no up charge ). I cant wait to revisit and try more meats, fish and other delicious options! I love close so I know I will. I highly recommend this place.

I have eaten at several caribbean restaurants in several states. I always order their oxtails dinner. It was TERRIBLE! The sauce was yellowish brown(not a gravy). The meat did not have a taste. I did not see any seasonings! The meat was tender. The rice and peas were dry. The johnny cakes were dry and less than room temperature. The cakes gave me a very mild reflux feeling in my throat. Another person in my party ordered the jerk chicken. It was blackened on the skin and the chicken under the skin was red with no taste. You would have to eat the chicken with the blackened/ charred skin. I could not observe any seasonings. I paid a $18.00 dollars for my oxtails. I was very hungry when I order my food and I could not eat it and I would be shame to give it to a homeless person or a stray animal. I believe they would just

I drove by this place many times on my way to the Dekalb Farmers Market and finally decided to stop in and see for myself. Ive always had a firm belief that the best food is usually found in the tiny, ramshackle sheds where its usually only one guy inside where theres nothing but a kitchen, a counter, and a guy out back throwing wood into the smoker. I was not disappointed. The jerk chicken left my mouth burning for hours and the chicken was so perfect it practically fell off the bones. The jerk sauce complimented the smoke on the meat perfectly and the fried plantains were little bites of sugary heaven. Dont even get me started on the mac n cheese and fried fish. It was a bit higher priced than I expected but the food was absolutely worth it. This is my and my girlfriends new favorite local Caribbean spot.

First let me say Chef Curtis is so nice and an overall good guy. I work nearby on Ponce and go to get his food at least twice a week. The Jerk Chicken is the best I have ever had! Always great and add jerk sauce for some extra kick....sides are awesome...Great fried plantains, fried dark so that the sugars crystalize which is the proper way to cook them...second the mixed vegetables with mushroom and corn is outta this world! Callaloo and saltfish is also excellent...Another fave entree is the grilled salmon with vegetables...The food is always fresh...He also makes a great ackee and saltfish, but you must ask for it as its not on the menu...five stars for this place..reminds me of home...The food here is the real deal. Period.

A true definition of a hidden gem. My visit here was very pleasant from start to finish. As it was my first time there I was very undecided as to what I wanted due to the pleasant aromas of food being cooked hat permeated the air of this little establishment. The staffe were highly patient and jovial to be at work, something that meant alot to me. I ended up ordering curried King Fish with Callaloo and yams. Upon first bite of the King fish I was overtaken by a divine mixture of spices and flavor. It was the best King fish Ive ever had. Also, words cant fathom the joy I had in indulging in the Callaloo and Yams too. Overall: This restaurant is the perfect metaphor of what heaven would be if heaven was a Caribbean restaurant.

I should have listened to the post below mines. Seriously, this is the worst Jamaican food I have ever eaten no lie. They had pics of Andre 3000, Usher and many other entertainers so I thought it really was a green light along with most of the reviews. This goes to show that you should have listened to that "1" review. The curry goat tasted awful and the gravy is so watered down. I tried 3 heavy bites of it with the rice, just cant do it. Taste and doesnt smell right. I cannot get this taste out my mouth right now. I am so pissed they got my $12. They lady was very nice and friendly I must say, but this food is horrible. What a waste. I attched a pic to show, my S7 might have made it look good.

The food wasnt good. I ordered a large and I got the smallest amount of rice from a Caribbean restaurant Ive ever received, it wasnt enough to complete it with the jerk chicken. The plantains was burnt as well as the jerk chicken. The chicken had NO flavor what so ever. The mixed vegetables had NO seasoning, it look like they were just cooked in plain water and I wouldnt even call it mixed vegetables because all I got was straight beans. The jerk sauce slide right off the chicken and the jerk sauce I ordered on the side was oily. The worst Jamaican food Ive ever had. Spent over $12 for burnt, tasteless food. The only good thing I would say was the sauce was spicy but it was nasty too.

My favorite jerk in Atlanta. Mainly for the nice smoke on it from the big grill out front. Jerk can be flavorful and portions are big. There is a sauce you can put on top for extra spice. The place can look sketchy and intimidating to some but theyre putting out pretty delicious fare. Some items can be hit or miss at times like their patties. Not too crazy about their pastry but the fillings are good. Especially the callaloo. Just walk up, close your eyes and order. Dont try to look in the back at the chaos going on. It is literally a little hole in the wall/shack. Say a prayer and keep it moving.

OMG OMG... IF YOU ARE IN THE SCOTTDALE~ STONE MOUNTAIN~ DECATUR AREA (or any area for that matter- they are just that good) this place is a must. Large portion size, GREAT FOOD, and made fresh daily. It was worth the weight in line. Ive past this place 100s of times wondering if the food was good. Today I past and made a U turn. There was a line going out the door and around. Service was great (very friendly~and fast) I had lunch there going back for dinner.

Simply amazing! Best Jamaican in Atlanta! I travel from about 20 miles away just to eat here. Food is authentic and tasty! The owner and staff are friendly. Theyre not greedy on the portions. Ive tried several things on the menu. Today I got the stew cod fish with 2 dumplings for only $5! It was enough for 2 people. Ive eaten at several places and was disappointed each time. This spot its worth the drive. One love!
