The owners of El Jinete not only have a fantastic restaurant with great food, but they are truly caring and wonderful people!! They kept their restaurant open all night on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 during the terrible snow jamb that paralized most of metro Atlanta. They even went so far as to approach people waiting in their cars to let the stranded know they would stay open and provide them refuse for the night. They even alerted the employees at the nearby Quick Trip that they would take folks in for the night. They saved me the agony of spending a night in my vehicle or on the floor at the Publix across the street! They charged my phone for me several times and proved to be extremely thoughtful and hospitable!! Thank you Javier and Pablo and the others who I did not get names! God bless you and your business for sharing yourselves and showing such caring hospitality to total strangers in need!!! Forever greatful!! Phil

I have been coming to this place well over 10 years. The owners are always so pleasant and dont be surprised if you find yourself served by one of their children. The daughter is my favorite, she is always bringing me new things to try. They are very accommodating people. I like th cozy atmosphere. Their specialty dishes are always ALWAYS wonderful. They have a huge menu! If you decide to experience El Jinete, forget combination dinners! Those are for the cheap people who dont want to spend money on a very worth while dinner. The chori queso and cheese dip are to die for! There are other much tastier items that are equal to combo prices, just ask. El Jinete is the reason the deserted shopping center is still alive. I give this place five stars!

Been eating here since I can remember (15 years?) Always great and friendly service! When I first started eating there, I was around 8 years old. Even then the waiters/waitresses would joke around with me and my siblings, giving us a great experience every time. Now at 23 years old, I love going there with my family to get margaritas and some awesome food! 10/10 Would eat there again and again. Want an even better reason? Read the review probably 4 ahead of mine. During the ice storm of 2014, they offered refuge in their restaurant overnight for people stranded in their cars and even the QT down the road. Excellent human beings, through and through.

The margaritas are great but the food has gone down hill. We ordered the Fajitas Toscana (steak, chicken, and shrimp). It took at least 30 minutes for the food to come out and we were ok with that because we figured everything would be fresh. My father in laws taquitos were burned. The steak in the fajitas was so tough and old tasting I had to spit it out. Here we are the next day and my stomach is not right! This place used to be great and think a new chef may be whats needed. Fresh food is key.....

This place is hit or miss. They brought out a Taquito and then tried to convince me that it was a Chimichanga. The food was over cooked which makes me think it had been sitting and reheated. If we were not at such a large table I would have sent it back. My wifes chicken was tough and dry. The waiter had trouble getting the bills together. Generally slow and frantic service.

Got the Nachos Texicanos. (I think) It was the Nachos with all the meats. The shrimp was really seasoned and tasty. Most shrimp I eat at places has no flavor. The whole meal was good. We all ordered sweet tea so the waiter just kept filling us up with pitchers. The seating in the booth was kinda uncomfortable though. I suggest loosening your belt before sitting down.

Pretty sure me AND my friend (note the "and", I do mean both of us) got food poisoning from this place. We both had chicken, in two separate dishes. We ate, paid, and as soon as we walked out of the door we both got super clammy and nauseous. We spent the next few hours contemplating death, and definitely regretting our choice of lunch. We will not be going back.

Me and my family have neen coming here for 14 years. It is our favorite non-fancy restaurant. Their food is decent (the best mexican around, which isnt saying much). But what is keeping them alive are their tp die for margaritas, cheese dip, chips, quesadias. Supprisingly they have the best fries i have ever had, so make sure you get some!

They have really gone down in quality taste over the years. Very average Mexican food. Not very tastey. The "numbered item" menu is bland. The fajitas are terrible. Some of the specialty items are okay. Would avoid and drive to other alternatives a little farther away.

The food was OK, the service was good, but the atmosphere was that of drunken middle aged housewives, filling in the lack of background music with belligerent banter, and covering the entrance in secondhand smoke.

Food and service were great! Booth we sat in was not comfortable.....the back seemed to be perfectly vertical. Will return but regular chair next time instead.

Queso was watery. Chips were too thick. Enchiladas had a bad filling ratio. The service was ok but we just didnt like the food. Really disappointing.
