Heres the thing with Chow King. The selection is great, and the quality is subpar; something thats hard to find in a lot of buffet restaurants. The real, core problem with them, though, is the customer service. My family and I went to Chow King on Memorial Day where they were offering All You Can Eat Lobster for $16.99; however, there wasnt enough lobster. They offered it, people would wait in line, and the first few would pile their plates and leave nothing for the group of people behind them. If you were ever able to get lobster, the shells were all empty. Obviously there was a problem. My family fought this, asking for the regular price for lunch since the only difference in menu was the lobster, and all of the lobster was extremely low quality. The two women we dealt with not only were extremely condescending, but rude, unapologetic, and down-right unfriendly. They said we didnt read the sign correctly and the price was firm at $16.99, no exceptions. They would not listen to any complaints or comments, and continued to interrupt us and look for the fine print within their false advertisements. While my family was arguing with them, another family approached the register with the exact same complaints and the two women had the same responses. If youre looking for mediocre food with horrible customer service, enjoy yourself! You found the place youve been looking for.

When you go into a buffet. You should have a general idea of what youre heading into. Its a zoo, its the jungle where only the strong survive. Chow King is an buffet that serves most Chinese/Japanese food along with some American options. The restaurant itself is rather spacious and I would say nicely decorated. Lots of the Chinese inspiration in terms of décor. The service here is not bad actualIy. The waiters come and get your used plates ratner quickly. Most times when you leave your table will be cleared by the time you return. Lets get to the important part. So how is the food? Well Im still alive, so theres that. Truthfully though. The food isnt too bad, you can tell most of it was prepared in bulk and rapidly. Taste is kind of inconsistent or unusual at times. The most popular items are seafood related. Crab and lobsters get huge lines. People start queueing up and if if youre not aggressive enough. Too bad and good luck next time because theyll be gone within minutes. Overall, Ill keep this one short. The price isnt too bad. Still pricy so you better eat alot. Dont expect a 5 star experience and revert back to your animal instincts than youll definitely love this place.

Word to the wise: starve yourself for days before you visit this premium buffet that serves up dishes from China and Korea, as well as a few quirky surprises. Pizza anyone? Or... perhaps frogs legs?? Quite assuredly, this has to be one of the largest buffets in the metro area. Moreover... I can say, hands down, it is the most glamorous as each dish looks model perfect. As for the space... it is... spacious. The bulk is dedicated to the lunch/dinner entree spreads with adjacent sections for veggies, soups, and desserts. One of the more unique aspects of this buffet is the balanced representation of seafood from the huge sushi bar, to mussels, squid, octopus, etc. The multi-cultural staff is quite friendly but can fall prey to forgivable language barriers, yet they are efficient like a Swiss timepiece. At full dinner rates this place is a savvy move, but at the reduced lunch rate... it is an unforgettable treasure. SCORE: MUST VISIT.

Unbeatable selection of delectable delights. You can eat anything to your hearts content - from fresh sushi to Chinese food (endless mouthwatering walnut shrimp?? Are you serious??) to Korean bbq (pretty decent kalbi at an unparalleled price). They even have a fondue station and incredibly creamy and savory ice cream. I have no idea how this place manages to serve the AMOUNT of QUALITY food at this ridiculously LOW PRICE. On top of it all, the staff is very quick and courteous, the water is great, and they even have a raffle. I swear if I didnt live 40 minutes away, Id be there everyday and morbidly obese in a month. 5 stars is way too low for a paradise like this. I wish I could give it 50 to offset all the unjustly nonperfect reviews that have been left. But alas, I have but 5, and I gladly bestow them upon this beautiful palace that pretends to merely be a restaurant.

Dont even go here starving!!! Disgusting food, terrible service! The food didnt look or smell appealing. Made a plate anyway because we were terribly hungry. One taste of each and struggled to swallow. We decided to leave immediately. They wanted to charge for the full bill! IN WHAT WORLD? We agreed to pay for the beverages but they wanted us to pay one adult and one child when we were there all of 7 minutes at the time of approaching them. Will never go here again! They even brought "muscle" from the back to try and intimidate us. SMH! Worst dining experience ever. Disgusting food, terrible service, waste of money! AND we all got food poising - diarrhea and vomiting. HOW? We only tasted the food. YUCK! Worst of all is that after we left our appetites were so ruined there wasnt anything that could revive our tastebuds so we just went home disgusted. Terrible!

Food is good, and selection is good. There are simply way too many variety of food that youll be full before you even try one third of their selection. Especially their seafood selection is much better than any other Chinese buffet Ive been to. However one huge problem with the place is that its so crowded. It also doesnt help that the buffet isles are so narrow, and every time you go out to floor to get a dish is like going to a war. I got tired after getting 2nd dish, and gave up trying to go for the 3rd. Theres just way too many people here and so little room to move around in. I mean, their food is real good, but whats the point of having good food if you cant get to it? If you want to give this place a try, you should try going when place isnt as busy. Otherwise, Id say youre better off going somewhere else where you can relax while dining.

If you try to do a take out here forget it! This is the most confusing restaurant for takeout ever, waiter or waitress doesnt know the pricing, when you ask the manager depend what you gets its whats the pricing. Before I went to get a take out I asked all the information, mix pork stuff she said $4.99 a pound. When I finish, take it to weight, she open it and said the pork going to be $7.99. I told her I asked before I went and got the food, she respond its to expense its going to be $7.99. What s wasting time! Wish have post a guide for everyone who wants to do a take out instead of just making up prices. On the sushi buffet I been waiting for 30min, the sushi trays its empty, they do not fill the sushi with the salmon, only refills cheaper sushis, from what I can tell they are only refill once a hour. Great food but bad business operations.

wider selection of pan asian food items, including sushi/sashimi, korean BBQ, noodle section, and grill bar. Depending on the day, they have either snowcrab legs, stone crab or dungeness crab. The restaurant has lowered the adult price to $16.99 from the original opening at $21.99 for week days but didnt adjust accordingly for kids. Wide selections, but as with any other buffet, after you go there for several times, theyre more of the same. Weekend price is higher but it does include crab legs. Food is generally fresh but if you go there on a slow day, the food sitting in the hot tray get stale like every other buffet restaurant. Overall, it was a enjoyable place if you enjoy chinese buffet.
