I love sushi. Its my favorite food. Whenever I travel I like to experience sushi at the best place in the town I go to. I live in Southern California so here at home I have many places to choose from. I have to honestly say that Tims sushi is one of the best I have experienced anywhere in the world.Even here in SoCal, I compare everyones sushi to Tims and all have come up short. When I travel to Atlanta for business, I take an earlier flight just so I can go to Sakura for dinner when I land. And even though Im only there every other month, Tim remembers my name and what I like and what I dont like. I even created my own salad (house salad with seaweed salad on top) and Tim gave it a name and called it "The Randy salad." You can actually order it if you go there. Great way to start a meal. I can not say enough good things about Tim, the service, and the quality of the fish. I have no idea how anyone could give him a poor rating. Its the best sushi in the Southeast.

I went to this place because of the high reviews it received. Sorry to say this place is not what the reviews make it out to be. -First the space is small, cramped and crowded. They only have one sushi chef working, so it took nearly an hour to get our food. This was on a Tuesday, so I can only imagine what it would be like on a weekend. -The wait staff was either inexperienced or rude. I couldnt really tell which. Most of the time they ignored us..after about 45 minutes we had to yell for one to bring us some more water while we were still waiting on our food. -The sushi itself was mediocre at best. Very small portions, very little meat, lots of rice. Harrys/Whole Foods sushi is better then this. It was like publix grade sushi I have eaten at a lot of sushi places and this place was not worth it at all. I will not be going back. If you need a place close by, the portions at Fuji Hanna are better and the service is definitely superior.

Horrible! Staff was argumentative, food wrong temperature. We were in the area and found the place based on reviews. First bad sign was that the place was empty at dinner time. the food came out quickly, but the rice was falling apart on the rolls and one roll came with hair! they took it back, but we arent sure if they made a new roll. we ordered house wine and were charged for some specialty wine. The manager came over when we questioned the check and said they didnt have house chardonnay so they served what they had. We said that we werent told about that, to which she replied "but you drank it". Not ever coming back! Be ware.

My wife and I tried this place after reading reviews of it being "the best sushi in Atlanta." Either the people writing those reviews have never actually had sushi anywhere else or the state of sushi in Atlanta is a very sad one indeed. The rolls were tiny, bland, boring and overpriced. The service was mediocre but not terrible. I still cant believe I paid $1.50 for a 12 ounce can of sprite and $12 a roll for sushi that would be bested by my local grocery store. Dont waste your time or your money.

A place designed for a college student but filled with suburban house wives and prices to match. The restaurant is not cozy and everyone is cramped together. We couldve been seated at least a table away from another customer but we had to sit an elbow away in spite of having other tables available. The fish was really good but dinner sashimi prices are very steep. The lunch prices are affordable in comparison but not sure if Id be willing to eat inside again.

After about 50 lunches at Sakuras it occurred to me that I ought to say something positive about this place. The service is excellent. The food is delicious. I go expecting fresh, quality fish, personal attention, and culinary adventure. Yes, Tim has spoiled us. But we have NEVER been disappointed! From the Malibu Roll to the Asahi Crunch, the food is awesome and Tim is, too! 5-stars!

A secret locals hangout. If you go youll notice most of the people are repeat customers always a good sign. Tim is very strict with the quality of the fish he brings in so if it doesnt meet his standards he wont buy it just to serve it. He has a lot of speciality rolls that are very popular with the locals but we stick to the sashimi and traditional sushi.

This is one of the best gems in Atlanta! We eat sushi at the best restaurants around the world and we live in LA and Miami, where great sushi is commonplace. To have a place of this quality near my parents house, when we are in town, is such a blessing!

Excellent sushi and pretty good prices. Best time to come is lunch during the week. The daily lunch specials run from $9 to $13 and come with a good serving size. They do close from like 3-5 everyday for some reason so be aware.

Our favorite neighborhood Sushi restaurant. The service is great (they always remember who we are when we visit) and the selection and quality of fish is surprisingly top notch given its unassuming "strip mall" location.

Ive been coming here for years, and the owner Tim has never let us down. The best sushi this side of town hands down. I recommend the King of the Sea roll, and my personal favorite the Sakura roll.

We have tried sushi at many metro restaurants and keep coming back to Sakura. They have the freshest tasting fish of any place we have tried. Sakura is the Cheers of Sushi!

I will say the Pirates sushi roll is very good. However, the service, atmosphere and microwave made rice is irredeemable. You can better.
