Where to begin. The hostess was...disinterested. The floor was sticky...which was a bit strange. I was seated in an area with poor lighting, but it wasnt that bad. Then Im greeted by a waitress who was trying really really hard to care. She takes my drink order and I asked if she could find out where the fish came from. She returned with my drink and said the sushi chef didnt know. Okay...Thats a bad sign, but Ill try it anyway. I told her I needed a minute and she gave me several...In fact while I was deciding they seated a man who waited forever before walking out. My patience was just a bit stronger apparently. I ordered the ocean roll with krab stick instead of lobster salad. I also got streamed gyoza and sushi rice. The gyoza came out and the presentation was awful. They had a piece of wax paper haphazardly slapped on a plate with a dish of sauce and a few dumplings. Since they were steamed they stuck beautifully to the paper and tore apart when I picked them up. They did taste okay though. Then I got the sushi rice which was really bland except for the stale toasted seaweed they sprinkled on top. Made the whole thing taste kinda weird. The sushi came out and it was...bad. The fish wasnt fresh at all. I decided to try a dessert and save this nightmare. I ordered the creme brulee and my waitress went to get it. She returned and said, "We are out right now because the guys wife makes it at home and she hasnt made any in a while. We served the last one this morning." Okay two things...she hasnt made it in a while and you sold the last one today? How old was it. Second...She makes it at home? Is that approved in health code? Well...never again. I give up on Ellijay having anywhere good to eat.

We eat here every year when visiting. The food is usually good, but the staff is usually forgettable. This year, the food was not as good but the staff was great and very memorable. The host, our server, and the bartender were attentive, pleasant, and accommodating. They were personable and engaging. Our waiter, Matthew, was great. They seemed to be short-staffed and juggling several things at once. The fact that they did it with smiles says a lot. I hope management gets them more help and finds a way to keep them. As for the food? Stick to the chicken and steak and youll be fine. We will be back next year.

Went for a "nice " dinner after white water rafting all day and completely starving. I got the sirloin hibachi plate. 20 dollars of disgusting. Did not even know Japanese food could be this bad. Wait staff? Even worse. Politely asked the server why my plate was like soup instead of hibachi. Response = oh that is the terriyaki sauce it is cooked in. When a customer asks you why their 20 dollar plate of food is like a bowl of soup, you should probably do a little more. Like maybe... let me get you a new plate immediately. Nope. Nothing. Dont let this place ruin your night like it ruined ours.

Absolutely the best Hibachi I have ever had. I have tried Hibachi in Atlanta and Chattanooga and none come close to Okinawa in Ellijay Ga !! It does not matter if I show up for Lunch or dinner, the Hibachi is always great and the service is excellent - Chefs are Wonderful, Servers are Fantastic - Food is just mouthwatering ! I have even ordered to go and even that was scrumptious! I just cannot say enough Good things about them! If you are in Ellijay, go to Okinawa in the Ingles Shopping Center and have a meal at their Hibachi table. You will not regret it!

I live in Jacksonville, FL and have been to several Japanese hibachi houses there. None of them compare to this Okinawa. Best teriaki chicken Ive had, best fried rice, very good shrimp sauce and the service was just fine! Best of all, the lunch pricing was the lowest of any hibachi house Ive been in. My only complaints would be the difficulty of wheelchair access for a relative and the ranch dressing for the salad wasnt great. Everything else that wasnt great was my own fault (never had seaweed soup before, so its not their fault if I didnt like it).

Moving from a bigger city up here to North GA, Ive found that there are very few choices of decent restaraunts up here. And even less variety of food. Okinawa was a pleasant surprise though. My wife and I ate at the sushi bar, service was great, chef was friendly(even gave a complimentary appetizer) and the sushi was excellent. if you have simple tastebuds, go with a take out Chinese place. But if you are looking for a good sushi place in North GA, Id recommend Okinawa steakhouse in Ellijay.

Have had some terrible food here. One instance was a group of 12 ordering steaks to be medium rare that all came out well done and few got sick. Gave it another try and I ordered mine without soy sauce or teriyaki because Im allergic to gluten and it came out with soy sauce on the vegetables and steak. I asked the waiter about it and she said shed fix it. Not two minutes later brought me out vegetables and a "new" steak that I could tell had just been rinsed off.

Having lived in Asia and Hawaii then transplanting to North Georgia, Okinawa is a get little place to get authentic fresh Asian fare at a very reasonable price. One hibachi dinner is enough for two people, definitely! And Tuesday dollar sushi night is an incredible deal. The service is friendly and casual. You will always run into someone you know from around town enjoying a fresh, fast meal.

We do NOT appreciate being served fake scallops. Are most people really that stupid that owner" who is never there" thinks that they can get away with that? Makes you wonder what other imitation products are being served and what else is substandard. Obviously the six of us locals will never ever go back and you can bet we are telling everyone we know!

Waited 45 minutes for food while others who came in after received theirs. Never had any interaction from waitress after we placed our order. We were not told why it was taking so long even though it was not crowded. However, they were generous enough to not make us pay for the food we did not receive.

We have always had a great experience here! The service staff has worked hard to accommodate us promptly upon arrival and been attentive even when they are super busy. I would encourage you to go for the hibachi rather than the sushi (after all we are in Ellijay, Georgia, friends!).

Do not order out! ....I ordered a Vegetable Hibachi (dinner) and did not even get a lunch portion. Also no sauces added even though I asked for extra, very expensive for what you get and the food was not that great..will be taking our business somewhere else.

We had a great family dinner! The sushi was average, but the hibachi was great! Our server was terrific and our hibachi chef was fantastic! The portions may have been a little light, but overall a great experience!
