Super cooks. Noticeably. I always bring some cash for their tip jar because they do the best grilled wings, fajita beef, and magical melt in your mouth yet thoroughly grilled Chicken on a Stick, best. A n y w h e r e, at any price. Remember this, even if you dont choose the Mongolian style of select your ingredients and have them grill it option, because these guys have the best tasting dishes of any Asian+ Mex Amer. Buffet within a 25 mile radius. In this genre, from best to good: 1. Atlantic 2. Hibachi- Jimmy Carter, Ncross 3. Pacific- Chastain Plaza behind BK and Movie Stop. Hibachi and Atlantic, very close but Atlantic, its the cooks, the environment, superior fung shui, and excellent management. Tokyo on Holcombe Bridge Roswell is also on par, geared for less volume, a Japanese presentation style, complete with made-u-look Amerasian hostess. Atlantic sushi chefs, also excellent. I dont want a zillion sushi choices, just the standard but artfully crafted, pillow seaweed sesame kind is present. Scoopable ice cream adds to the class, again, speaks to quality. Its more work, likely more expensive, than the typical, prevalent grab some prepackaged or softserve style usually found at Buffets. Always when I go I feel like the Kim Chee is just for me, lol. Well chilled, moist, marinated longtime, as good as Korean places, in Buford/Norcross/Johns Creek/Alpha, Doraville/Chamblee sometimes better than there. I love a good buffet. Been to them all, I would say. The Atlantic food quality here is higher end, in the world of buffets, it is high end. Roast always good, ribs same. Salad bar always fresh, (not only iceberg, several kinds of lettuce+ normal Spinach). Slaw, potato salad, excellent. Corn on cobb ok, excellent sauteed mushrooms, bok choi properly perfectly done, unadulterated, everpresent. Spicy clams, best. Chicken rice noodles, just like Hawaii. Oysters on half shell, if you like. Locals habla espanol, they have the crawdads, mound to your delight, child friendly. The only other buffet offering wide variety yet comparable quality and care at unbeatable similar prices is on the other side of the metro in Norcross. The Atlantic also features Smooth Jazz from high quality, good base response, drop-ceiling speakers, and driven with enough power to provide clean, quality sound. Yesterday I noticed Rick Braun, perhaps they will add Nelson Rangell, some old Sting (Nothing Like the Sun, hint hint). Prob have Keiko Matsui already. Windam Hills Sampler 92 would be a perfect addition to the playlist (hint, if you can find it). Atlantic has the best cooks, best fung shui, they grill better, season better, cook to definitely safe to eat levels, and perhaps the food starts out higher quality before the cooks do their thing. Excellent host(s), attentive staff, cleanly kept despite the difficulty given their high volume demand both peak times. Quality chopsticks. Best value overall of any buffet in Metro Atlanta, all things considered. Management, please change nothing unless it is to add, keep your cooks happy, and thanks for being the best and located in the NW quadrant.

We visited here on a Monday evening in August 2013. I am so not impressed! Ive eaten at plenty buffets and I just dont like the food here. They replenish quickly and the food seems fresh, just not tasty. When I tell you that 98% of what I tasted was BLEH!, please believe me. I am not exaggerating. I am pretty sure I ate at this place in Snellville a year or so ago and everyone in my party had the same experience. They closed after being open for maybe 6 months or so. DISLIKE: - From the General Tsos Chicken, to the barbecued ribs, to the fried shrimp, chicken on skewer, fish, crab rangoon and a few others I cant recall - not tasty at all. If it had a flavor, it was a weird ... almost chemically taste. Like fake food, if you can imagine that. The ribs were dry. - Staff barely looked at us and didnt smile as they showed people to their seat, asked for drink orders, removed dirty dishes or passed by as you go back and forth to the buffet. - Dessert cakes (not sure what they were) were just gross. Weird, gelled consistency. Maybe thats what its supposed to taste like? Didnt like it. TOLERABLE: - Grilled chicken wings had nice flavor and were not overcooked or dry - Some of the sushi. - Salad LIKED: - Oriental green beans were a little crunchy, not overcooked and limp and had a good flavor. - White rice and veggie fried rice was fine - Decor is really nice - Cleared dirty dishes from the table quickly - Easy to get to and plenty parking - Not expensive. Dinner was about $10 Maybe all the others on here like the taste of the food, different strokes for different folks. I went here because of the glowing reviews and was quickly reminded of my past experience with an establishment in Snellville with the same name, decor, food, etc. Its clear someone likes it but I would not recommend it to my friends. Oh, and lastly, just fyi, soft and hot drinks cost extra. "Battles of Watter" are $1.75. Check out the signs on the table. :-) A cup of water is no charge.

I went to the Atlantic Buffet today around 9:30 for sushi. When I arrived the sushi bar was somewhat empty so I took what was left and waited for the sushi chef to make more. After waiting 30 minutes no new sushi was prepared; the waitress even tried to give me my bill. After waiting 15 minutes more I talked to the manager, he asked what I liked then told the sushi chef. When the waitress brought me a plate with only two rolls I was more than a little confused. I asked the waitress if there was a time where they stopped making sushi and she told me that after 9:30 you have to order any sushi made in the buffet, but no one had told me this until now and no sign or menu notice indicated such. At this time I spoke with the manager and explained that it was unfair to make me pay the entire check in light of what had happened and he refused to discount anything. When I told him that I refused to pay the entire bill he threatened to call the police. Feeling very mistreated I asked him for the owners name and number which he also refused to give me. The entire experience left me feeling frustrated and unsafe, I will never step foot in the building again.

On a day where I couldnt decide what I wanted to eat for lunch I landed on eating everything. Atlantic Buffet offers a wide variety of different foods including that of Mexican, Chinese American, and classic American. However, easily you can tell which item is more fresh than the other. Its all a matter of opinion but for me the food tastes as if you knew the dirty secrets of the food industry without having to do any prior research, this isnt a bad thing. Just dont walk in there expecting the most scrumptious meal. For a $10 lunch special I left feeling full with a new motivation to detox my body. Not because the food tasted bad mainly because of the thought about which part of the chicken your exactly eating and what exactly went into that burrito. Its the mystery mixed with the decent taste that leaves the place with 3 stars. Think of this as a place to go to when youre in the mood for okay quality food mixed with a mysterious undertone. Needless to say if I ever find myself in the same position I will think of Atlantic Buffet as a viable option for modest priced food.
