The food was ok. Ill give them that. The problem is the service. No smiles when being greeting to an empty restaurant (makes sense now). The main issue however was after ordering our food. Server mistakenly understood Mongolian Beef with fried rice when we specifically said chicken which honestly didnt bother me much at first because I figured its a very easy thing to maybe mistaken, but the problem happened after the person I was with brought this to his attention. His response? "Try this. Still good. You dont like beef?" Not that she doesnt like beef, she doesnt eat beef or red meat period.. When he mentions to the cook that the order was wrong they dont apologize, and reluctantly bring the Mongolian Chicken. The other problem.. When this gentleman brought the Mongolian CHICKEN. He does not bring any new rice (Mind you the previous orders rice was mixed in with the beef so for someone who does not eat beef or red meat it is no longer appetizing). He points to the incorrect order which is already boxed, mind you, and says, "You have rice here. Wrong order is no charge" in a condescending way, like it was our fault he understood wrong and were trying to get over on them or something. Rice is one of the most inexpensive staple carbs in this country. This establishment loses nothing by bringing half a plate of fried rice to correct a mistake and keep the customer happy. I left no tip, and this individual has the balls to come out to the parking lot, and basically interrogate me on why no tip was left, and if it was because the service was no good.. Unbelievable. There are so many good restaurants in Duluth and Lawrenceville to waste my time and money to give this place another shot after this experience. I usually am pretty lenient when it comes to reviews, but damn this place has provided some of the worst service I have ever experienced. P.S. Never bring a date here.. EVER

I was hungry so I decided to give this place a shot. It was an 1 hour and 15 minutes before closing time and what seemed like the manager of the restaurant asked me to look at the menu prior to being seated to see if I even liked anything. This was awkward considering its not the first time Ive ever eaten Chinese food - there is a restaurant like every 2 blocks. The atmosphere was overall unwelcoming, especially if you looked like you had no business eating at a chinese restaurant. I proceeded to sit down and begun ordering items only to be told what I wanted wasnt available. I then just chose usual items (dumplings, crab rangoon). The food tasted mediocre at best. Like previously frozen foods. I expect items at restaurants to at least be semi fresh. Ive had frozen dumplings that have tasted better and the crab rangoon lacked cream cheese and was fried rock solid. Their sweet tea was great though. Overall, the lack of welcoming I felt was enough to not recommend this restaurant. I go to restaurants to have a pleasant moment paired with good food. I did not get this here.

My parents were born in Canton and Chang Sha in the 1920s. I was born here in the USA. Been having Dim Sum for 40 years. Used to drive from Northern suburbs to Chamblee for years. Enter Golden House. Authentic Dim Sum favorites and requests have gotten better and better. New chefs I hear. Not to much into being "in the know." All I know is the service has been from very good to excellent. Dont know or really care what happened to one bad reviewer. I have been to Golden House 60-70 times at least. Dine in and take out. Take out sometimes suffers but I usually buy enough for brunch and dinner...so it may sometimes be the wok steamer reheating. Staples of Har gow, char siu bow, Shui mai and congee have good depth of flavor. Spring rolls are shrimp only which I miss the vegetables, oyster sauce and ginger tastes. Really good selection on weekend and staples during week...but they often will make requests. No cute comparisons to SF or NYC Chinatowns. If I am near Chamblee, I go to Canton house. If anywhere else in Atlanta, it is Golden House.

Nice restaurant to bring a date. It looks very upscale from the usual. Pork fried rice cost $10 so I thought it would be the best and it was not at all. I usually go to Lius in lithia Springs but wanted some asap. If simple pork fried rice taste like that I will not be back to taste other trays. The guy in the front did not smile or make eye contact who ordered and swiped my car. Figured he was a manager since he was older. He did say thank you but still did not make eye contact still. Bathrooms were nice. Scenery was as well. Even so I still wont be back. Jade dragon on satellite Blvd is a better choice for Chinese food if you are looking for quality and price. I forgot about that place at the time and drove by it like damn I just paid $10 for this!

I went here over the weekend with my friend and we order the food ahead of time for carry out. when we arrived the food was not ready and we have to wait in the lobby for around 20 to 30 minutes. When we got home the food was just average and nothing to write home about. If anyone is curious I ordered the General Tsos chicken and it tasted like it was drowned in sugar. despite the fact that I asked for them to make it spicy they made it extra sweet instead. I will probably not buy food from here again, you can save your money and go somewhere else and get the same or better value at probably a lower price.

Ive ate at every dim sum location in or around Atlanta, and this is my favorite. Not for service, who goes to dim sum for great service? Not me, its all about the food. Yes, the ladies rolling their carts are short and abrupt, but thats more to do with chinese culture than deliberately being rude. Lighten up folks, its about the food and its awesome. Dont be fooled by my name, Im an Asian American with lots of dim sum eating experience. This place rivals dim sum in N.Y and san fran!

This place is your typical Cantonese restaurants with lots of sitting areas and great for larger groups not in a bad way. They have decent selections of dim sum on the weekends. Dim sum is available during weekdays lunch time, more steam ones but still have good bake goods like fresh egg custards. At the front, there is a small pool of water and large fish tank to entertain small children. Staffs are friendly and service is prompt.

Golden House, Kung Fu masters of ancient Chinese Dim Sum. This place is often over looked because its way too tacky for anyone in their right mind to stop and taste the food. Service is absolutely boring, theres no personality with these people, but you didnt come here to get personal with them, you came for the food! Ignore the tacky decor, ugly carpet and 1975 HK customer service, just order the good food and walk on brother.

Great food! Golden House is an amazing Chinese restaurant that allows you to enjoy authentic Chinese food. One of the main selling points of this restaurant is the speed at which you get your food. My family and I ordered many different dishes, which at most restaurants would require a wait of 20+ minutes, but at Golden House, the food began to slowly arrive on our table within 5 minutes. Dim Sum is to die for!
