Right now I am craving their egg roll and chicken fried rice. I moved out of state but each time I go back to see family I also make it a point to get some food at Golden House. Everything I have had there is wonderful and puts all others to shame. The service is wonderful. They offer carry out too. The portions are tremendous! I can get 4-5 meals out of one plate and I like to eat. With each meal they bring you your soup, then your egg roll then the big plate with your meat and rice. They are very good about timing it so once one is done the next arrives. The egg drop soup is my favorite and they have a one of a kind plum sauce similar to a duck sauce but better. It is a must try place no matter where you are from.

Colon cleanser. I came in during lunch and there was only 1 waitress trying to cover the whole floor. Waited about 10 minutes(not that bad) to get drink/food order. Got my appetizer before I got my drink. Bathroom smelled like someone had washed the walls with piss. I get my food and find its not a soy based sauce. Its some white sauce of some sort. It wasnt bad, but wasnt traditional American chinese cuisine. After all of that I wouldnt have left a review.. Though it wouldnt been around 2-3 stars.. However, now I cant stay off the toilet for longer than 10 minutes. My colon has now been cleansed. Not sure whats coming out of me now. Avoid this place like a plague.

The Mongolian Beef and Sizzling Hot Pepper Beef that Ive ordered for pick up that was to be ready after 15 minutes of ordering from home, hade ended up taking 5 minutes longer than what was said, which isnt bad but still late. For the food however, thats a different story, the food had no taste and the rice and crispy noodles had seemed like I was eating soil. The spicy sauce had no spice or tang or even a taste like most of the food. Even the fortune cookies were ruined by a stale feeling and a faded sugary tasted, barely sweet.

I have eaten here for years and have never been treated with any disrespect at all I have had things on the menu that I did not like.(but I have never eaten somewhere where I liked everything) But Vince replaced the item no questions asked with something I did like. So I question the bad reviews.. this place is far superior to almost all chinese restraunts in livingston county in coustomer service,price and taste and for that it gets repeat buisness from me and 5 stars

My family and I recently moved to the area from Redford and have been looking for a place like this. It reminds us of another restaurant called "Happy Garden" we used to frequent in our old neighborhood. It is the first and only other establishment to offer similarly seasoned dishes, marmalade-like sweet and sour sauce and bean sprout egg rolls (not the typical store-bought tasting spring rolls found elsewhere). Our only reservation, is the portion size we were used to.

Whenever we have a hankering for some Chinese food, we always go to New China King across the street. We decided to try something new today, and check out Golden House, they have very nice service, but the food was incredibly disappointing. I couldnt even eat it, my Cashew Chicken looked like dog food, and my fiances General Chicken was stringy. Lets just say I will not be going back there anytime....ever and I will defiantly stick to New China King.

I actually enjoy eating here at times. Decided to see reviews and what people thought of this establishment. Although you cant make every customer happy, who ever reads and replies to the reviews is very unprofessional. You have definitely lost my business on the way you treat people trying to express a concern. I hear new china king is more welcoming and right across the street.

This is my all time favorite Chinese restaurant. I recommend the Almond Chicken. We are a military family that moves all over the country. We have yet to find another Chinese restaurant that is half as good as Golden House in Howell, MI. The staff is wonderful. Its a small enough place that they quickly learn your name and greet you when you walk in the door.

This is literally the best Chinese Restaurant I have ever been to. The food is always amazing. The subgum wonton and General Chicken are my favorite. I am always pleased when I eat at this restaurant. The employees are very friendly and they remember who you are. This is one of my favorite restaurants and I highly recommend it to everyone.

I am allergic to wheat (gluten)...the young gentleman that took our carryout order was VERY helpful, knowledgeable & pleasant and made accommodating me a non-issue! Our food was delicious! Price was fair as well. I am very pleased with the experience all the way around!! We have a new fave for Chinese food in Howell! :)

I have been to many many many Chinese restaurants in howell and brighton and Hartland and this is BY FAR the best in the area and one of my favorite places to eat the service is amazing and the food is to die for with big portions and everything I have had there is so tasty full of flavor. Would recommend to anybody

It was just like any other chinese restaurant. However for anyone who gets the lo mein, I would not expect big noodles. They are rather small and I had more tasteless vegetables then anything. The food was hot and service was fine. I really liked the spicy mustard on table as well.

I moved to Pa. a while ago. Golden house is by far the restaurant I miss the most. 3 generations of staff in the family business has crafted genuine concern for the quality of their food. One of the few places Ive ever gone that served truly spicy food.

THE best chinese food I have had in a long time. There isnt anything here that I have tried that i havent liked!! If youre feeding a bunch then it will definitely be pricey... but Ill gladly pay whatever cost for delicious food and great service.

Ive been going to Golden House since childhood. They have hands down the BEST Chinese food, in the area. (Dont tell them) but ive tried other Chinese Restaurants, they dont compare! Amazing food, Great customer service and its fast!

It is what it is, as far as Chinese food I have to say for the price and the polite service I have gone there many times. Have also bought an entire lunch brought it back to the shop for my service techs, they all loved it.
