Hudsons is a cornerstone of restaurant life in Douglasville, GA. Ive been eating here since 1970 and the food has been consistently delicious with fast, accurate service. Hudsons specialty is slow roasted pork and beef barbeque, which is served chopped if you order a plate. It comes with real potato fries, not frozen, that are cut fresh for orders. The salads are delicious with the best blue cheese dressing on the planet. Seriously, I sometimes go and get a quart of dressing because its so good. The price is right, as well! Dont forget to try their Brunswick Stew, either, because it, too, is pleasing to the pallet. Rather than sweet, sticky barbeque sauce, Hudsons is a thin, vinegary sauce that is delicious for those who love this type sauce, but if you dont like vinegar sauce, you may not like it. I love this place. Its always packed at lunch and dinner. Hudsons has a takeout side as well. You can get barbeque by the pound if you want to take home a large order or catering. Hudsons is not only delicious, but a part of Douglasville and Douglas Countys history. I highly recommend this quick dinning joint.

I tried this place based on all the great reviews but its hard to find the words to describe how disgusting my food was. My BBQ sandwich was more fat than meat. I had to ask for BBQ sauce since its not kept on the table and when she brought it out, I thought it was soup. The sauce was so thin and was probably the worst BBQ sauce Ive ever eaten. I opted for the onion rings with my sandwich and could only stomach one bite. They were hot but tasted very greasy and like the oil in the fryer has not been changed out in a long while. Lastly, I ordered a Diet Coke with my meal...thats hard to mess up, right? Well it tasted more like seltzer water because there wasnt enough syrup mixed in. Do not recommend!!

When someone says BBQ .... this is the place that pops in my head, Hudsons.. Its the only place I would even eat BBQ, and ve been eating it all my life 34 years. They have the best Tea in Douglasville. Friendly Service. Atmosphere is OK... its a BBQ house, kinda loud so if you want a quiet place to eat dinner... dont go! Very Busy and fast paced but they have very fast service! You can dine-in, in less than 20 minutes.

for i dont think this place is good nor do i think its clean Ive been with my hubby and seen them with my owns eyes drop a piece of chicken not clean it off and put it on the bread and gave to customer i know that the tea is sometime made with the arm of someone there yucky so enjoy that tea ...not for me at all but my husband enjoys the bbq best in state me not so much ill just got to burger king ...

Surely not the best BBQ Ive ever had. Wifes chicken strips dry and rubbery. BBQ sauce was more like soup. Could really spend time in the decor and maintenance. Booth had a nail sticking out by my leg where trim had fallen off. Really need to clean up better. Just read the sanitation score before eating. Roaches crawling o. The wall where BBQ sauce was.

The cole slaw was the best I have ever eaten. The liquid au jus style bbq sauce was gross. Thick, rich, smoky, sweet...these are the words that describe good sauce and Hudsons has none of them. The tea was great. The canned beans could be dressed up a little, they were worse than plain old campbells and who eats campbells beans.

I was told by a friend that I had to eat here if I visited Douglasville. I personally wont recommend anyone to eat here. The BBQ was okay and their world famous sweet tea wasnt great compared to others Ive tried. A nice family restaurant and great service but the food and drinks just arent up to par.

When I lived near you, I didnt know how rare the taste of great BBQ would be. It is almost impossible to find. Wish I could get a plate today - hot pulled pork, moist, dripping in juice and vinegar/mustard sauce, with a pile of french fries on the side ...oh yes bread too and sweet tea. Miss you.

Consistently awesome. I want to try more things, but get out here so rarely that I have to get the inside pulled pork sandwich with a side of sauce, which is more like an au jus. Treat it as such and dip your sandwich. If you like heat, add the sauce on the table. Thatll do pig, thatll do.

I know no one goes to a BBQ place for the chicken tenders so I wont dwell too much on those but I love them. Their french fries are second to none and their cheese fries are delicious. It is a vinegar based BBQ as far as my wife can tell so if thats not your thing then you might not like the bbq.

Fantastic BBQ. Staff is very friendly. We tried several things and everything was very good. Portion size is good. We had to get carryout containers. True " southern"sweet tea. The prices are very good, especially considering the portion size. Well definitely be coming back for more.

Okay, I have loved Hudsons since i learned how to walk but if you go there to get take out make sure to check you get actual bbq sauce with your food!!! I just got a bunch of food and NO BBQ SAUCE AT ALL!!!! That is inexcusable and crazy for a bbq pledge to not give damn SAUCE!!!!!

We have been going here to eat for more than 20 yrs. Hudson s bbq is well known in this county and has some of the best southern BBQ around. They also do catering and even rent out a pavilion on a lake nearby for special events, weddings, family reunions, etc.

The food was so plain and the tea was water down. But this was my 1time in there but I there was no other people in there eaten but when I walk in ever body look at me and my lady like we was not allowed in there but they took our order . The food need help

Clean yes. Friendly staff yes. The food is terrible. The Brunswick stew tastes like its from a can and heated in the microwave. My pork was greasy and chewy. The ribs were impossible to eat. Cant believe anyone thinks this is good food.

When you find a place the locals have been going to for decades you cant go wrong. Awesome tasting, fast and friendly service. We were told theyre closing for 2 weeks this July for vacation and remodel. Cant wait until I can go back.

THEY HAVE GOOD FOOD AND GOOD SERVICE BUT WHEN YOU SEE HOW UNCLEAN THEY ARE AND THERE WORK ENVIRONMENT THAT OVER RULES ALL THAT OTHER STUFF.. I DONT KNOW WHY THE SANITATION DEPT HASNT BEEN OVER THERE YET.. ITS VERY VERY GROSS
