Ill get to the point and just say that the service was slow and the menu is misleading. I wanted a full order of pork spare ribs which comes with 2 sides. Anywhere in the city a full order of ribs dinner is enough to feed more than 1 person--especially when it costs $23.95 vs the single order with 2 sides for the price of $13.95. I took the food home and was sure that Id been given the wrong order when I saw that I had five bones and my side items consisted of approx 3 tbs each of greens and coleslaw. I called and the person that answered said simply Hello. I said hello and she said hello immediately as if she hadnt heard me. We spent approximately 20 seconds saying hello back and forth with me turning my cell phone to speaker to make sure I was being heard. Finally she says something about me only saying hello and I understood that she was just playing games. I asked if this was Pit to Plate and she confirmed that it was (which would have been nice if she had answered the phone properly). When I told her that Id been given the wrong order she remembered me and assured me that it was right because she had packed it herself. As unbelievable as that was to me she began to rationalize why a whole order of ribs only amounted to approximately five bones. She says, they are big bones and she charges by the pound and that its plenty of meat. I explained that I was trying to feed more than one person and she actually told me it would be enough for me and my son. LOL. When I asked her about the small sides as if for a single portion she just went, Ohhhhhh. I wish you would have told me that you wanted it for more people. What??? I told her that the ribs didnt come with sauce either and even though she had admitted to packing it herself she immediately blamed that on a new worker. She said when I come back shed give me an extra sauce on the house. I. Will. Never. Go. Back. The coleslaw was creamy and tasty but the veggies were not evenly cut which is fine if you like big mouthfuls of cabbage. The meat was wayyyy too salty and it was barely warm. With sauce it might have been better. The greens appeared to be canned. The food only ranks at a level 2 out of 5.

Walking in, I couldnt help but notice that the building appears to be a renovated Pizza Hut. So this meant a rather small dining room. But the interior was very nice. Lots of cool and funny bric-a-brac all over the place, including printed t-shirts wrapped around the ceiling tiles. But the Saturday night I was there, they seemed to be short on help because I stood by the door a good 10 minutes before someone realized I was there to dine in. Incidentally, all the signage you see as you walk in mentions carry-out with no mention of what to do if youre there to dine in. I had a full rack of ribs, the okra and tomatoes, and redskin potatoes. The potatoes were very good. The okra was unlike any okra dish Ive ever had with a very tangy flavor I found surprisingly good. The ribs (baby back only here) were smoked very well, fell off the bone as they should have, and had a very smoky flavor. The dry rub they use is good, but not impressive, and they serve the ribs without sauce. They had a wide selection of sauces, mostly home-made and I think KC Masterpiece for those wanting something more commerical. But the way the sauces were all in a box with other stuff all around it, made it hard to find the right one. And many of the bottles had the sticky fingerprints of prior guests left behind. And I tried a bit of each sauce, but found none of them very impressive. The entertainment was pretty good, a local band called Wendy Oakley. And once they realized I was there to eat in, the service was excellent. But I got the feeling the folks there were a bit off their game that night. I plan to go back to try the brisket, so maybe it will be better that night.

After reading some of these reviews, I guess Ive been lucky? EVERY time Ive eaten here, Ive loved it. The food is the best bbq Ive had in Cincinnati. A few of the other reviews mentioned dry meat? Ive run into that at quite a few other bbq places, but never here. The chicken and chili here are perfect, and I have only praise for the pork and brisket as well. The owner really cares about her customers, so its hard for me to think that if she was around shed give bad service. I just had her cater my wedding and I got no less than a dozen compliments on the food. Dianne served the entire night herself, which blew me away, then packed up tons of food for my wife and I to take home. What more could you ask for? All I can say is give it a try.

They came to my job for food truck fridays... the people working the truck di not know how to write or take down credit card info properly. They wrote down wrong info. I got a call saying my card declined, went to the restaurant to resolve and got the run around. Got a call from them again during work as them to hold and heard the lady on the phone saying what she was going to do and put up a signing something with my name on. At the end of the day if they had a card reader or the employee did their job this wouldnt have happened. Im done doing business with them and that was my first and last encounter with pit to plate

The best brisket I have ever had!! They put all the sauce selections on the table for you so that you may try different ones to decide which one you like the best. The portions are huge. The owner is a sweetheart and makes all the food herself!!! If you want a home cooked meal at a reasonable price, this is the place to be! The server was awesome and treated us like family. The decorations within and outside the restaurant go perfect with the theme. They also have live music several times a week. It is in a convenient location, right on Hamilton Ave. I highly recommend Pit to Plate!!

Worst BBQ experience of my life, and Im no beginner. I visited here on the recommendation of a friend whose family ate here regularly before PTP moved from the old location. He raved about it, so my son and I decided to give it a try. The first thing my son said when we walked out was "Well, that was disappointing." When the star of the meal is the iced tea, you know theres a problem. My brisket was okay, nothing more, and the sides were terrible. Like I said, it may have just been a bad night for them, but it was the kind of bad that you dont let happen twice.
