I dont normally do reviews, however this place warranted one. First, the positives: The place was clean, my server was excellent, and the meat (other than the tilapia) in their "signature" fajitas, was solid. Now the bad... For starters, the chips tasted like fish. Tilapia, specifically. They serve Tilapia with just about every meal on the menu. Second, they brought out a roasted chipotle salsa. Well, the roasted chipotle peppers? They werent roasted. They were burnt. The salsa tasted like the burnt pieces, scraped off the grill at the end of the night. Third: I ordered a small cheese dip. What I received was a SUPER-small cup (think of ordering an extra side of dressing at a normal restaurant), and was charged SIX DOLLARS ($6) for this!! Next, I ordered their signature "Hacienda Fajitas." It came in a pineapple. Personally? I think this is gimicky and dumb. But the worst part is, the charred green leafy portion of the top of the pineapple was burnt and charred, leaving a smelly burnt/charred taste from the smell of it. Last, as youll see in my photo, the fajitas came with a large tilapia fillet on top of the fajitas. Im still trying to figure out what its doing there.... But like any adventuring restaurant goer, I gave it a try. That was the most disgusting, muddy tasting tilapia Ive ever had. And I normally like tilapia. I was as polite as one could be when I called the manager over to simply give him some feedback on his food and the restaurant. As I went one-by-one explaining the above, I was met with him trying to explain away my concerns. So much for the customer being right, eh? The biggest thing was, he swore up and down that the tortilla chips were NOT cooked in the same oil as the fish. >sigh< Okay, buddy. I guess Im wrong. TL;DR Unless burnt food taste and Tilapia are your most favorite things on the planet, avoid this place like the plague.

Today my girlfriend and I tried Hacienda Barr & Grill, the new Mexican Restaurant in Dawsonville! The food was good. The atmosphere fun. Super busy when we got there but no wait and the crowd was thinning by the time we finished our meal so we sat and visited for a while taking note that there were open tables around us and no lines at the door. Juan, our waiter came by multiple times, each time becoming more animated, swiping things off the table, asking if we wanted anything else. At one point he dropped one full salsa bowl into another spilling salsa all over the table and the floor as he stomped off. On his final trip he asked again if we wanted anything, when we said no, he said well, theres a couple waiting to be seated so......We looked at each other in disbelief....were we being asked to leave? Yep we sure were!!!!!!!! As were getting up, I notice 2 open tables next to us, 1 open booth beyond the tables and another open booth behind us, and that was just in Juans section, numerous open tables/booths through the restaurant and NO Mystery Couple waiting at the door.....as a matter of fact NO ONE was waiting at the door, on the sidewalk, in the parking lot!! Naturally we both regretted the 20% we left Juan. As I walked passed Brooklyn Joes, the packed Italian restaurant next door, I remembered when we ate there a few weeks ago and literally stayed until they closed!!!! The waiter kept telling us we were welcome to stay as long as we wanted because he had other open tables in his section. We literally closed Brooklyn Joes that night! - Will I be going back to Hacienda????? The food was good but I can get good Mexican food WITH POLITE service elsewhere! El Campesino is around the corner, their food is just as good, the Margaritas a 100 times Better and No One has EVER asked us to leave there! Or maybe Ill just eat Italian more often and go back to Brooklyn Joes!!

Well...I must say I am so disappointed right now. First of all I loved Hacienda the first few times I went there! The food, margaritas and service was great. Well that was at the right hour I suppose because my husband an I had a completely different experience this time. We went this weekend to eat later at night because nothing is open around that time. They stated they closed at 11pm so we were so excited that is was 10:20pm when we got there. Immediately I was greeted with everyone cleaning in the front of the restaurant and with snarky looks. I know the "I cant believe you came in before closing look." Sorry.... if you want to close at 10pm you should change the BUSINESS hours to reflect that. i WAS ABLE TO GET PAST THE RUDENESS due to our waiter Eric being great. Apparently he was the only staff member prepared to work until closing. THE ENTIRE STAFF continued to clean, mop, stack chairs and give fowl looks in our direction. I dont want to eat with someone cleaning around me disgusting!!!!! I must say my burrito was thrown together so I guess the COOK was CHECKED OUT as well. I expect more from a new business.FAIL

What a joke. Food is just ok, nothing special but does taste fresh. We called in an order for pickup. First the background noise is so loud you can barely hear what they say. Picked up our order to take home, only a 10 minute drive. Half the order was wrong, missing or a soggy mess (their menu does not say the churros come with ice cream, which was melted.) What idiot puts ice cream in the same container as warm churros? My husband decided hed eat it anyway but the shell tasted like feet so just ate the beans that came with. A $30 meal came down to nachos, soggy churros and some beans. We will never eat here again nor recommend it to anyone.

My wife and I have been to Hacienda Bar & Grill in Dawsonville several times, for lunch and dinner. I wish they would run a daily lunch special like Tacos and Tequila does in Cumming. If you chose the lunch special of the day a free soft drink is included. Not only doesnt Hacienda do that but if you want a soft drink they charge $2.95 for it. Thats a lot of money for 10 or 15 cents worth of coke. So far Haciendas food and service has been very good.

Service was great! Just for service and cleanliness Id give 5 stars. But the food was less than okay. My childrens meals were awful. I ordered wings frys for my 5 year old daughter was given wings unseasoned and undercooked. I told the lady who brought our food out about it she took the plate to the back and never came back or sent another and we were still charged for it. . .

Pretty poor web site. Tried to check out the menu and the web site does direct to a menu but the problem is that although it states that youll be able to see the meals, all that appears is drinks and desserts. Even though theres a separate link to a drink menu. Pretty poor for a new place. That and a some poor reviews convinced us that well pass on this place.
